The honest truth about relationships is that they’re sometimes great but they’re also sometimes boring. And to be completely real, coming home to the same person every day is overrated, even if it’s someone you love. Once you’re in a relationship you lose track of who you are because you’re no longer a “you,” you’re an “us.” By definition you’re a part of something, you share your life with someone, you have another half, without whom, it would imply, you’re not complete. And it’s okay to not be ready for that, or to not want it ever, or to have no idea how you feel about it. But you’re not wrong or abnormal for not wanting it or not being able to do it, and you’re not missing out on as much you might think you are. Don’t let what other people are doing distract you from being happy. You don’t need another person and there isn’t a timeline and there aren’t any right or wrong steps. You’re doing just fine.
