Macro-plastics are plastics that range from 0.5cm and up and can sit on the surface of the ocean or sink below. Depending on the the buoyancy of the object these plastics can get swept and carried by either wind or water currents to remote areas of the ocean.

Mid Term Reflection
What has been difficult for me this semester would be back to back writing assignments in this class and in art I mean I understand its college and its not your job to cater to us and the other work we get from other classes its just tiring thats all. What has been easy for me is that understanding how to write an essay correctly, write a good topic/thesis, back up your evidence, and how to conclude essay I might be really good at it but in this class I'm able to understand it easier. What surprised me was the work how its like here the work, here's how you do it now go do it but the work also has to be detailed. I wouldn't start this semester over I think it's going good for me. Im not too sure what to look forward to maybe learning more. The changes I noticed from the last time in school is that I'm paying attention more and taking it more seriously and also learning what I should've know in high school.

"Its time for they' rhetorical analysis
The purpose of this text is to tell people that they're not addicted to their phones even though it may seem that way since we spend a lot of time on there but actual are addicted to each other. I would say the targeted audience is anyone with a phone which its majority of the population. The author main argument is that we stay on our phones may make us feel more lonely than before but thats not the case because we actually have an easier way to connect with one another. I would say the tone of the text is calming it's not coming at our opinions, it's more informative and making us thinking and feel about how we use our phones. my example would be "No, you can help flatten the curve by doing one simple thing—staying home and texting your friends." Which gives me something to reflect on and think maybe I should see how my friends are. "Humans are driven by our need to communicate. We are social creatures, and we come to know ourselves and our world primarily through our interactions." This sentence is uses Logos because they're evidence that shows we are social creatures. In this sentence the author uses Ethos because or the words like journalist and scholars which positions the author that they know the knowledge from the data they've received. The author uses Pathos by talking about our emotions with saying "Moreover, there are physiological benefits to being with one another. Expressing affection helps us better deal with stress. Extensive research has documented the health benefits of expressing our emotions to others." I think the authors message was convincing to a point maybe there was more for him to touch the reader using pathos but he kept it simple and easy to understand his research. Yes I would like got explore more with this article and actual go 24hrs without my phone to see if the author is right.

Writing Reflection
My topic is music because I listen to it everyday and I think it should be easy for me to write about. It's important to me because since I listen to it everyday it became a big part of my life filling in whatever hole I may have during that time in my life. What I learned so far about music is that majority of rap songs are similar they usually talking about common things like having money and women and staying solid to your brothers. What I want to still research is what other genre is similar to rap because I'm not to sure what genre that is yet. what I find most interesting about my topic is that music can connect people to each other sometimes you wouldn't believe who like the same music as you.
The difficulty with brainstorming is how to word you information write and making sure you have hard evidence on what you're talking about. What comes easy is what I'm writing about since I know what artist and listen to the genre a lot. What ima be doing differently is making sure that have strong points when Im typing my assignments and make sure I have a good argument on my topic. What's different about college work is that we don't get a lot of work everyday like in high school, yes maybe the assignments they give out is a ton of work just for one assignment but its easier thanks having homework for every class you have. What I need to focus on this assignment is the research making sure I have strong points. My plan for this is get my ideas on paper and making sure my research is good and then pout everything I have into an outline making sure it's good.
The phase that gives me a hard time is always the gathering ideas and forming a thesis/outline I'm not to sure but that has always been a hard part for me when having a writing assignment. "Think of a working thesis as the general focus of the paper, helping to shape your research and brainstorming activities. " this is this helped me understand the process of writing by helping me understand that I need to write something thats covers the whole paper
