Thank You Letter for my Parents

To my Loving Parents,

At this point in my life, I am near to becoming an adult. As I'm growing up, I realize just how much you did for me. And, for that, I need to truly thank you.

For my mama, thank you for making me realize that I am worth everything in this world. That I should never settle for less than what I deserve. Thank you for getting to know my friends to make sure that I was choosing them wisely. That I was continually surrounding myself with respectable and responsible people through each and every phase of my life. Thank you for passing on your belief in greater things that are entirely out of my control. That everything happens for a reason, and we’ll one day figure out why. And lastly thank you for your personality. Or sharing your love of life, sense of humor, excitement for every experience, and courage to look fear directly in the face until it back down.

And for my papa, thank you for telling me what I’m capable of. For giving the support that I needed to build a dream to chase after. And for believing that I have the talent to reach my goals. Thank you for spending your time with us even after you got home from the tiring work. And also, thank you for always being at my side and always supporting me in my journey. And also, thank you for showing what hard work looks like. For showing me that nothing comes easy and that countless times of blood, sweat, and, tears really do pay off.

To both of you, thank you for showing me true love in its rarest form, what it feels like, and how it can extend beyond life’s obstacles and challenges. My thank yous aren’t enough words to express my appreciation, but I think this is a good start.

Since then, I have always dreamed of having a job in a hospital and helping people who are in need. I have always dreamed to become a nurse. It inspired me more when I saw the healthcare professionals who are fighting against Covid-19 and helping patients who are infected by the said virus. That is the number one goal I want to achieve. I also imagined myself interacting with my patients like being able to make patients better, and have genuine smiles on their faces, or having small talks with them. It makes me want to strive more for my dream. I know, and I’m aware that nurses’ work is hard, the long hours of duty, countless times and days without sleep do rounding from time to time plus the patients who are hard to handle, and more. I don’t know, but part of me feels excited about doing this and the day to come. Because despite all of this, I know helping people who are need to overcome their health and get back to their normal and healthy lives, will surely, all the hard works are going to be worth it. I want a challenge and use my knowledge, where other people and I can get benefits, me, having the ability to make others feel better which will make me happy, and them, to continue their lives without worrying about their health. Sometimes, challenging yourself will make your life more fulfilling, especially when you know you help someone feel better. I know my journey to achieve my dream to become a nurse will take a long time and years, but I can’t still wait for that day to come. I can not wait to have toast with my family that I finally get the diploma and the profession I want to have.

Ben&Ben

Ang bandang Ben&Ben o kilala ring The Benjamins ay isa sa mga kilala at sikat na banda dito sa Pilipinas. Nabuo ang banda noong taong 2015. Binubuo ang grupo nina Miguel Benjamin, Paolo Benjamin, Patricia Lasaten, Jam Villanueva, Agnes Reoma, Poch Barretto, Toni Munoz, Keifer Cabugao, at Andrew de Pano. Naging sikat ang banda dahil sa dala ng bawat salita sa kanilang mga kanta na nakakuha ng atensyon sa marami.  Mga mensaheng na nagpakuha sa mga kanta nilang nagbibigay inspirasyon sa mga tao, nagbibigay ng mga aral at mensahe sa buhay. Tulad ng linya sa kantang Kapangyarihan, “Gamitin ang kapangyarihan meron tayo para magsilbi sa kapwa, hindi para mang-api at magdulot ng karahasan.” Sa kantang Sugat naman, may parte roon sa kanta na nagsasabing, “Huwag magpatali sa nakaraan. Huwag hayaang makulong sa mapait na kahapon. Ang bawat isa ay may kakanyahang maghilum. Bumagon ka.” Hindi na kataka taka kung bakit marami ang nahuhulog sa mga kanta nila. Bukod roon, nakilala rin sila dahil sa mga music videos na nakaka-aliw panoorin, at boses na maganda sa pandinig. Marami na rin silang nakasama at nakatrabaho na mga artista. Isa rin sila sa mga dahilan kung bakit mas nakikilala pa ang OPM na kinaka-aliwan ng karamihan.

Eraserheads

Ang bandang Eraserheads ay isang tanyag na banda dito sa Pilipinas na nabuo noong dekada 1990. Binubuo ng nila Ely Buendia ang punong bokalista at ang ritmong gitarista, Buddy Zabala ang bahista at bokalista, Marcus Adoro ang punong gitarista at isa ring bokalista, Raimund Marasigan ang drummer at bokalista. Ang mga dati namang miyembro ay sina Kris Gorra-Dancel na pumalit kay ely noong umalis ng banda at Jazz Nicolas ang sesyonista sa dalawang reunion. Pinoy Rock, Alternative Rock, Pop Music,Reggae, at Synth Rock ang uri ng kanta na kanilang tinitugtog. E-Heads ang kadalasang tawag sa taga-hanga nila. Sinasabi rin na ang bandang ito ang nagbukas ng pintuan para sa iba pang banda ng Pilipinas tulad ng Rivermaya, Parokya ni Edgar, at Yano upang magtagumpay rin. At kahit na hindi na sila aktibo nitong mga nakaraang taon ay nanatili naman ang kasakitan ng kanilang mga kanta. Tulad ng kanilang kantang “Ang Huling El Bimbo” namga  taon na ang nakalipas simula ng ito ay nilabas ay nakakatanggap pa rin ito ng parangal. Tulad na lang noong nakaraang taon, nakatanggap ito ng parangal bilang Asian Viewer’s Choice Award. Hanggang ngayon, kilala pa rin ang grupo bilang pinakamagaling na banda sa Pilipinas. Taon-taon rin ay lalong nadadagan ang kanilang taga-hanga.

Silent Sanctuary

Nabuo ang banda taong 2001. May limang miyembro na sina SArkie Sarangay, Anjo Inacay, Allen Calixto, Kim Mirandilla-Ng, at Ronnie Ropal. At ang dating mga miyembro na sina Jason Rondero, Chino David, Paolo Legaspi, Norman Dellosa, at Jett Ramirez. Kilala ang banda sa paghahalo at pagsasama ng classical music at rock music ng sa gayon ay maging yunik at maging bago sa pandinig. Isa rin siguro ito sa dahilan kung bakit minahal ng mga tao ang mga kanta nila dahil sa kakaibang paghahalo ng tunog na hindi masakit pakinggan. Nakapaglabas at nakapag-gawa na rin sila ng limang album simula ng nabuo ang banda nila. Ang bandang Silent Sanctuary ay popular sa larangan ng musika, magpahanggang ngayon, dahil sa kanilang mga kantang swak sa panlasa ng mga Pilipino. Ilan sa mga sumikat nilang kanta ay Rebound, Ikaw Lamang, Sayo, Summer Song, 14(Fortin), at Kundiman. Marami ang mga sumuporta sa kanila dahil sa mga kantang ito. Marami rin ang nag-cover o gumawa ng sariling bersiyon ng kanta ng banda. Marami na ring beses silang nanominado at nanalo sa iba’t-ibang award shows. Isa na nga rito ang pagkapanalo nila bilang “Favorite Group” sa magkasunod na taong 2015 at 2016. At “In The Raw Award” noong taong 2006.

Rivermaya

Ang Rivermaya ay isa sa maimpluweniyang banda sa Pilipinas lalo sa larangan ng alternative rock. Nabuo ang banda taong 1994 at hanggang ngayon ay nanatili pa rin itong aktibo. Sa kasalukuyan ,ito ay binubuo ng tatlong miyembro na sina Mark Escueta, Nathan Azacron, na mga bokalista at Mike Elgar na siyang guitarista. Dati na ring naging miyembro ng banda sina Rico Blanco at Bamboo, na ngayon ay nag-sosolo ng kumanta. Sa banda rin ito sila sumikat. Ayon sa iba, ang bandang Rivermaya ang ikadalawampu’t limang musiko na mabenta sa Pilipinas. Maraming awards na rin ang natanggap nila simula ng mabuo ang banda, mapa-Pilipinas man o ibang bansa. At kahit iilan na lang ang nasa banda, noon taong 2016 nakapaglabas sila ng album na may pamagat na “Sa Kabila ng Lahat” sa ilalim ng ABS-CBN Star Music. Hanggang sa nasundan pa ito ng iba pang kanta. Ang “Manila” taong 2017 at “8 to 5” sa kaparehong taon. At taong 2019, nakatanggap sila ng award na MYX Magna Award 2019. Sila ang ikatatlong banda ang nakatanggap nito pagkatapos ng Eraserheads at Parokya ni Edgar. Maririnig natin ang mga kanta nila kahit saan, sa mga sasakyan tulad ng jeep at bus, sa karaoke, sa telebisyon, pati na rin sa radyo. Maging ang mga kabataan ngayon ay pinapakinggan pa rin ang kanilang mga kanta.

Parokya ni Edgar

Ang parokya Ni Edgar ay isa sa mga sikat banda sa Pilipinas na nabuo taong 1993 at hanggang ngayon ay tumutugtog pa rin. Ang bandang ito ay binubuo ng limang grupo. Na sina Chito Miranda, Vinci Montenar, at Gab Chee Kee ay ang mga bokalista ng grupo. Buwi Meneses, at Darius Semana, sa pag-gigitara. At ang pang-huli ay si  Dindin Moreno, na siyang drummer ng grupo. Alternative rock, pop rock, comedy rock, experimental, novelty, rap rock, funk rock, at pinoy rock ang ilan sa mga genreng kanilang kinakanta o tinitugtog. Kilala ang bandang ito sa pagco-cover ng mga kantang OPM pati na rin ang mga kantang mula sa ibang bansa. Marami na silang mga award na natanggap at pinangalanan din ang grupo bilang Pambansang Banda ng Pilipinas. Marami na rin silang ibang banda at kilalang mang-aawit na nakasama na tumugtog sa iba’t-ibang gig at entablado. Dahil sa pinakita nilang galing sa pag-gawa ng mga kanta, nakakuha ito ng atensiyon sa mga PIlipino. Ang ilan pa nga ay marami ng taong ang lumipas ngunit madalas pa rin nating naririnig, mapa-videoke, mapa-telebisyon o mapa-radyo man. Napansin ko ring madalas rin itong pinapatugtog ng papa ko. Hindi makakaila na ang kanilang mga kanta ay kailanman ay hindi pag-sasawaang patugtogin ng paulit-ulit ang kanila ring ibang mga kanta ang nagpakilala sa atin ng OPM.

Welcoming 2021

January, It is the first month of the year 2021, and this is our first family picture together with our pets. Despite the pandemic, we celebrated the first day of the year with happiness. New Year brings hope, so we made that day full of positiveness, leave all the bad experiences, and took a step into the future like making a new resolution. We made that day entertaining for a good start to the year. As a tradition and as part of our welcoming the new year, we buy some fruits and sweets and cook some dishes. It also performed a fireworks display at our place in the belief that this will bring fortune or good luck throughout the whole year.

Trying Something New 

Most of my internet friends know how to do digital arts. They make artwork as their hobby or pastime, and others do this to make some money, like commissions. And out of curiosity and boredom, I decided to try it. I watched tutorials on YouTube. I also asked some of my friends for techniques and asked them what app should I use. That is my first digital art, and I used one of my favorite authors as my reference. I thought it was just easy! I'm even confident that my art will turn out good, and make it like an hour only. But it is a good start for a first-timer, yeah? I did it in two days! I made it with so much effort. I should practice more and do better next time.

Celebrating My Tito and Grandma’s Birthday

It was one of my memorable days in the year 2021. We are all excited to surprise them. We put so much effort to decorate the place that my auntie rented. We ordered a lot of food and we enjoyed grilling some seafood as well. The surprise turns out well, we made our Lola and Tito happy to their special day and we see that they enjoyed it a lot. And when the night came, my cousin and I decided to go to a karaoke room and sing. We spend our time together, have some catch-up and make the day worthy. It is our first time to have a bond together since the pandemic started. It was like a mini family reunion.

Holy Week In Bulacan In My Grandmother’s House

After the celebration, we stayed there for weeks. We spend the holy week with our Lola. Nothing has actually happened. We ate together, had some chitchats, took pictures. We just stayed at home with my grandma and did the usual we used to do in daily life. But before the day we left, my Kuyas invited us to have a morning jog in a subdivision. We even go to lakes to catch fish. They teach us how to use the hook and how to put the bait correctly. The fish we caught are cute because they are too small! Unfortunately, we forgot to bring our cellphones and did not take pictures of the fish we caught. It's just simple, but  I want to do it again with them.

My Cousins From Bulacan Visited Us Here In Batangas

My cousins decided to visit us and have a one-day vacation here in Batangas. They free their time to spend some time with us. They also said that they want to fresh up from their work. And guess what? They bring a Persian kitten and give it to us! Because they all know that we love cats so much! The kitten is he, so we named him Khali. As a return, we bring them to the fantasy world, but unfortunately, it is closed at that time. So, we just stayed outside and took some pictures together, so we did not waste our time going there. And after that, we bought lomi as our meryenda. When the night came, one of my kuya bring a guitar to have some pastime, we spent the whole night, jamming.

First

My auntie knows me so well. She knows that I'm a fan of BTS. And when she found out that Mcdo released the BTS meal, she chats me, asked me if I had already ordered the meal. I replied no. And as usual, the kind auntie gave me money! She spoiled me so much again! That is my first time ordering food from a fast-food chain by myself. So I mark it as a memorable experience. My mama also took me a picture as my auntie's requested. After I get my take-out, I message my auntie right away. I said my thank you and also sent her my picture while ordering. She really knows what makes me happy. It made my day.

I Graduated During Pandemic

When this pandemic started, I was in a state of uneasiness about how can I start the school year since I am a graduating student. How can I learn with this new normal? Am I learning something with this distance learning? However, this pandemic taught me some lessons about being flexible about what challenges life throws at you. Yes, it is hard to adapt, but, little by little, I realized that distance learning is not that bad. It taught me to be more independent and responsible in my learning. And because of my hopes, I graduated with good grades and make my parents proud. Even we cannot do to walk on the stage and receive our diplomas,  this pandemic will not be a hindrance to achieving our goals.

I Read And Reviewed My First Two Jonaxx Books.

I've been a big fan of Jonaxx stories for years now, and I decided to save my money and buy her books. I must say that the books were worth the cost! It is way cheaper than others, from the book's cover, the choice of paper used, the thickness of the book, and the story itself. For August, I spend the month reading Jonaxx's. Jonaxx's stories and her books are too good. You will get unforgettable life teaching lines, realizations, and how we can apply them to real life. It is the reason why I stan her she gives meaningful words and metaphors that direct her readers to see the bigger picture of her story. They are like puzzle pieces. Her books are worthy at all.

My Mama’s Birthday

It's my mama's Birthday! We celebrated it in simple, just like how my mama wants, having lunch with family. We even meet there my Tito and Lola. We invited them to join us for lunch and took some pictures for remembrance that we celebrated my mama's. And after the short chitchats with them after lunch, we go home. We also have a gift for our mama. We gave her a simple card and flowers from our mini garden. We did not let her do any house chores. And, of course, we gave our mama hugs and kisses. That was just a simple gift, but she appreciates it a lot and makes her day happy. I guess I know where my simplicity comes from:)

My Weekend with Khali

It was Khali's six months of being with us. Since it was the weekend, and my time was free, I decided to set the alarm, wake up early, and plan to have a little walk and play with Khali in the morning. It is also my way to be more close to our cat. But before that, I jogged for a short time within our place. We play under the morning sunlight for an hour. And for an hour, I think we're close enough, like to my sisters. My mama even took us pictures and a short video. She's happy that we're close now. I also made Khali's breakfast and ate together. I enjoyed spending my morning time with our cat.

First Dose Vaccine Together With My Sisters

It's been years since the COVID 19 outbreak. Researchers all over the world work constantly to develop vaccines that would work effectively against the virus. The vaccines come, and the minors are finally confirmed and required to get a vaccine. At first, my parents didn't want us to get the vaccine, not until others got theirs. I guess they just worried about its side effects. But eventually, they agreed. My Lola helped us with the papers that we needed. We got our vaccine, which is Pfizer, without waiting in line for a long time because we were early. And now we are all fully vaccinated. Getting vaccinated will be a huge step to end this pandemic, so don't hesitate to get vaccinated, too.

My Day

I celebrated my 17th birthday with my relatives. We celebrated it by having lunch together. And after having lunch, we decided to go to church, Taal Basilica Church, and pray. My cousins and I enjoyed that day of mine. We also go to the mall to buy something and play some to Tom's World. After playing, I bought a book that my cousin suggested using my savings as a gift for myself. We even took a lot of pictures together. I enjoyed having time with them. Also, I thank the greetings on social media from my other relatives and internet friends. I even got a video message from my friends! It is just a simple celebration but celebrating it with your family means a lot.

Holidays Full of Jolly

A year full of challenges has been difficult for all of us, but we decided to cling the Hope with our arms. We manage the pandemic and prove that it is not a hindrance and that it will never stop us from celebrating the holidays. Not the usual celebration that we do in the past years but the happiness that we feel on every holiday will always wear genuine.

 Christmas is known as the most beautiful time of the year, spending their holidays with their family and friends. That’s the time you deck the halls with boughs of holly and spread joy and happiness to everyone.

Another Christmas came amid this pandemic, but it is not a hindrance to stop us from celebrating this holiday. First, we woke up early to start the day by going to church. We talk to God and thank Him for everything. After that, we go home and ready our handa. We invite our other relatives over for the simple Christmas fare. Give gifts to each other and play some games with a huge smile on their face. It is just a simple celebration but I can see that they, even me, are genuinely happy. Celebrating your Christmas with your family with joy and love is the best gift that every one of us deserves to receive.

 It is New Year's Eve, and the world is getting ready to celebrate. It is a time where families feel happy because another year, in a minute, will come. We buzzed with excitement as the time grew closer to midnight. We gaze up into the sky and wait for the right time. And when the time struck, the beautiful fireworks burst out, making us sigh in awe, not minding the cold wind. The wind with full of hope, like promising good things going to happen. My family and I were surrounded by cheered that we also made. We jumped high as we can as if letting go of all the bad experiences that happened to us last year. I hope the year 2022 will give me a new good fate and be full of good memories with my family.

We all know fairies are a type of mythical creature. They appear in children’s stories and movies. Found in children's books as well as novels meant for teens and adult readers fairies are an integral part of modern fantasy stories. Different descriptions of fairies exist across time and culture. They have appeared in many legends and persist in the folklore of diverse civilizations. At this age of mine, I’m still into fairies, with their wings, magical powers, their glittery dust that caught my attention, their cute size, and their appearance that is almost similar to humans. Since I was a child, I like to watch and read fantasy stories especially about fairies. I imagined myself as a fairy, we're playing, with my sisters, like we were fairies and have powers as the fairies have. Until now, I read books related to fairies and their magical world. I think fairies caught my attention because they look similar to us, humans, but with magical powers. I don't believe that they exist in real life I just simply admire them as cute mythical creatures. Imagining fairies' world never fails me to feel excited and feel like I'm one of them, it feels magical.
