missing your f/o(s) can be one of the hardest parts of selfshipping. their world, the one that brings you so much comfort and ease, can often feel just out of reach. it's difficult knowing they are somewhere only your mind can touch, but remember you are not alone. may you find solace in the fact that your fictional others are thinking of you as well, however far away they may be. they want you to know they miss you, and love you, and that they will always be here for you when you need them.

to self shippers who don't feel like they belong anywhere irl for one reason or another and sometimes use their ships to cope with that by imagining yourselves belonging to a different world entirely... you absolutely should lean on your imagination while you're healing your relationship with yourself and with the world at large. heck, lean on it when you do get there, when you are happy. it can be magical and very fun! but remember: you will find your place one day, so stay strong

we as self shippers need to be the main character more. we gotta view ourselves as awesome and epic and we always get the girl/guy and they SWOON head over heels for us. none of this side character stuff. love interest is typical and I get the appeal but come on. we can aim higher. main character who everyone watches in the TV show and wonders who our endgame is, rather than hoping we ARE the endgame. this is MY ship IM driving it and IM IRRESISTABLE AND AWESOME!!!! my f/os have to seduce ME and work for it while I'm busy doing awesome adventures or being super plot relevant

This is for the self shippers whose F/Os have canon/fanon partners and/or part of a popular ship:

I know it can be incredibly hard seeing content of your F/O with someone else, let alone when other people are ride or die for that ship (“they’re married/ canon/soulmates”). I just want to let you know that it’s okay to disagree. It’s alright to look at that and say “no, they’re not”. Your F/O is yours, and no amount of canon evidence, shippers of canon or whatever else means you have to give up your F/O for this so-called “canon partner”. Remember that these are people’s interpretations of characters, and you do NOT have to abide by them, no matter what. The only canon ship with your F/O you should concern yourself with is YOU x your F/O. And if others disagree? Who cares?

my favorite thing in the whole world is when a self shipper posts a picture of their f/o like “aren’t they the most incredible thing you’ve ever seen in your life!!!” and they’re not to you. they’re just some guy to you. because you know op really does see a light in them that you don’t. features and a personality that are not attractive to you are attractive to them. features and a personality that do nothing for you do everything for them. and isn't it lovely to be reminded that no matter what features we have and no matter what our personality is like there is someone that will learn us and when they talk about us they will say "aren't they the most incredible thing you've ever seen in your life!!!"
