This was my bullshit for after-work fun, at least for a while. I created the Cooper pattern first and loved it so much, I just had to do one for the Ghoul. In case you aren't picking up on the influence, these were inspired by the fabric and wallpaper patterns of the mid-century, specifically those around cowboys. I love creating repeating patterns and those have always been fascinating. I also got to play around with some amazing color palettes thanks to a big set of photos of the Arizona desert.

A series of photos from. “Blast from the Past” bike ride today... Insta users, please scroll through some landscape goodness. Between 2002 and 2008 I lived in Point Cook, at the time a wasteland of farms and salt marshes. It’s all changed and been developed now, a busy suburb so far removed from those lonely paddocks and remnant grasslands I used to ride around in my bike. Today I spent three hours in the saddle from Altona, and along the Cheetham Wetlands, to a strange monument to migration that was almost inaccessible back in the day due to its remoteness. They were a strange 6 years of my life, a new relationship, new house, but an undercurrent of depression that I would not kick until about a year after my son was born. Sometimes I miss the West as it was, but not as it is now. Perhaps past Geelong there might be a sense of those old, solitary lands.
