𝓤nfadinginnocence:

She stood in the middle of the sidewalk as a figure walked towards her. Their lips were moving but she heard nothing as she braced herself for the terrible amount of pain that she was about to feel. She waited and waited but they stopped in front of her and their lips kept moving. They weren’t passing through her and finally she came to her senses. This was real. She was human. This person was alive. Looking up at them as a dazed expression crossed her features she spoke softly. “Forgive me. I did not hear what you said. It took me a moment to understand that you were real.”

🌾 — The initial surprise of the others presence had long passed, especially after she read the terror in the young girl’s eyes. This was not Katherine, not Elena. This was another curious case of New Orleans -- Davina knew it. “That’s fine,” she said finally, “and I’m very real. I was just.. You don’t know me -- I’m sorry. My name is Davina.”

🌾 — “Kol and I have been over for a while -- or has that important detail slipped your mind?” Her arms cross over her chest. “Not that it would have changed anything.”

🌾 — “All of them, huh?” she continued. “I’m very proud.”

“He does have plenty of advice, which I could some. I could use all of the advice I can get.”

🌾 — “Advice is good, but don’t forget to listen to your heart.”

🌾 — “It’s not easy to do, but we owe it to ourselves to at least try.”

“Thank you for the advice, Aunt Davina. I’ll see what I can figure out with the art career.”

🌾 — “And what about your father?  He’s always full of sage advice.”

Alexander hugged his mother back just as tightly and sighed. “Nothing is going to happen, you know that right?”

🌾 — “Something’s already happened. And I don’t know how to help.”

“A good one of course, I only know the good movies.”

🌾 — “You seem very sure about that,” she teased him just for the sake of it.

“It’s hard to argue with that but mom is a good fierce, dad is kind of a mixed bag.”

🌾 — “That comes standard with vampires.”

🌾 — “You’ve never been one to make things easy, either. On anyone.”

“Do you think that I should start looking at more sensible career options until the whole artist thing possibly takes off?”

🌾 — “Pick something that you can put toward the art career. You should be rounding yourself out, not spreading too thin.”

🌾 — “Your mother is clearly the fiercest of the two.”
