fingers tapped nervously on the granite bar top as he waited for noelle. he had already finished his first glass of whisky and the second was now in front of him. scanning the room eagerly before returning his gaze to the alcohol that he so needed to calm himself down. oliver has always been a confident guy unphased by childlike crushes or silly emotions. when he met noelle, that all changed. whenever he was around the brunette he becomes a love filled, mess of a man. however the alternative was not any better. whenever he wasn’t around her, he could hardly focus and all his thoughts centered around when the next time he’d be able to see her again.

taking a sip from his glass, he nearly choked when she arrived by his side. placing the glass down he cleared his throat and turned to her. an uncharacteristically large grin caused his sharp features to light up. he couldn’t help but to smile whenever he saw her. she was exquisite. oliver allowed himself to soak her in before talking. he could spend the rest of his life looking into her eyes and he would be more than content. ❛ work sucked but i don’t even remember why. all i know is today just got a hell of a lot better. ❜ he was cheesy and pathetic but he didn’t care. ❛ how about you? how was your day? ❜

                    his presence has never fit the cliché. she had spent her years pondering and pawing over countless pieces of romantic media, every moment, every lingering glance, her heart had grown heavy with the weight of her ceaseless romanticism and yet he managed to climb higher than anyone before in her dreamlike mind. the room didn’t simply light up when he smiled, when he grinned so wide the corners of his eyes crinkled, noelle felt a shift in her very soul. as if someone had lit a candle in the core of her being.  ❛  you’re  a  sweet  talker,  oliver  hale.  ❜  her smile is demure, small and unassuming, vulnerable almost, and it’s one she reserves only for him. she had wished night upon night her feelings for the male would vanish, leave her like so many others had done countless times before, but they remained amidst all the madness.
