I’m on mobile I can’t add this to my reblogs. Do you see this shit. Anyways this map calculates stuff assuming that you’re traveling at a constant speed (and on the current world) so the entire round trip is approximately 4 years but I’m imagining that aside from that stretch riding the current across the southern ocean there’s going to be frequent stops and they’re not going to be moving constantly so I could definitely stretch the reasonable travel time by more than that. Just one of the major Salmonid migration routes I was thinking could exist. This is not the one that comes by þ squidcountry

Things my brain wants to do are:

1.) map out rough climate zones based on the official world map. The brain also wants to take a look at the given map and adjust things like “there should be fucking mountains here shouldn’t there?” and probably adding more detail to shorelines based on approximations of elevation using the current world map. Why would you do this to me

2.) pin down where the countries of origins of several of my foreign born characters are based on the results of 1.). Get a rough idea of what kind of places they are you know

3.) map out major Salmonid migration routes. I need to write down any of my Salmonid hcs but immediately relevant to this topic is that salmon runs happen on a 7 year cycle per tribe but said 7 years don’t match globally; the timing is staggered between groups of tribes whose migration routes overlap. Tribes with longer routes have a few different run sites they return to on a cycle, while tribes with shorter routes usually use the same site every run. Several different combinations of tribes wind up converging at salmon runs to prevent inbreeding longterm. Nightmare calculations. Why

I said I was retiring permanently from splatoon maps but the brain is yelling at me that I need to redo climate zones so I know abt the rest of the world. Buddy if you do it again it’s gonna get retconned at an unexpected moment bc Nintendo does not care abt reasonable climate zones. Unfortunately I’ve accidentally made people who travel overseas and I’m apparently not allowed to keep locations vague in my mind

As a wheelchair user I'm trying to reframe my language for "being in the way."

"I'm in the way," "I can't fit," and "I can't go there," is becoming "there's not enough space," "the walkway is too narrow," and "that place isn't accessible."

It's a small change, but to me it feels as if I'm redirecting blame from myself to the people that made these places inaccessible in the first place. I don't want people to just think that they're helping me, I want them to think that they're making up for someone else's wrongdoing. I want them to remember every time I've needed help as something someone else caused.

Kind of hilarious to me how poorly the title "Mob Psycho 100" localized to English-speaking areas. To someone whose first language is English, it scans as:

Mob (Yakuza, Mafia)

Psycho (violent person with "crazy" behaviors)

Thus: a particularly violent member of organized crime.

But in Japanese it scans as:

Mob (background characters in crowd scenes in manga or anime)

Psycho (short for psychic)

Thus: a psychic who looks/acts like someone you'd never pick out of a crowd scene in a comic.
