          ‘ yeah , technically , but it’s about the journey , not the destination --- you feel me ? ’ lily rolled her eyes , wondering why mortals had to be so good all the time . when you get to be more than a hundred like her , everything sort of blurs together . she didn’t want to be too graphic , because she’s been told that it is not a good conversation topic .

        after a pause , she lets out a sigh , getting the feeling that this boy will definitely not let her kill someone under his knowledge . lily wasn’t in the mood to stir up trouble tonight . ‘ i guess a bag would be okay , but only if it’s o-neg ’

lips press together in a thin line   ,   brows raising slightly.   he’s in no place to judge what she does when she needs to feed   ,   if she’s desperate.   but doing it for the sake of it   ??   seems a little excessive.   he shakes his head   ,   arms folding over his chest slightly.   he feels a little ridiculous   ,   actually.   he knows that everyone needs to eat   ,   but   …   there are other mammals to get a meal out of.   it’s in his blood to try and intervene.   he’s a doctor   ,   for heavens sake.

               ‘ you’ve been alive for much longer than i have , you should know that kindness is not well taken in this world . ’ she made a skeptical face , her arched eyebrows scrunching together . it was just an unfortunate fact ; life wasn’t far, life wasn’t kind, and no one rarely gets what they deserve . lily found warlocks to be quite ridiculous and frivolous , attracted to mundanes like moths to lamps . which is why they always suffer , lily thought . they’re too trusting . vampires , on the other hand , were much more practical --- they only trusted each other . ‘ it’s overrated anyways . ’

            ‘ we’re doing virgin sacrifices today , so lucky for us that you’re here . ’ lily said dryly , rolling her eyes . she had little to no patience for this one in particular , finding him annoying and untrustworthy due to his affiliation with new york shadowhunters. the only reason why he was tolerated amongst new york vampires was because raphael had decided that no harm would come to him and as unsavory as raphael’s presence could be, it was respected amongst their community . lily , in particular , took raphael ‘s judgment and advice as god -- she wholeheartedly trusted him .  therefore , simon would live another day .
