Hi pals! So because we are moving this month and therefore have a few bills that will need to be paid with some rapidity, I’m going to open up OC Writing Commissions! There will be 5 slots available. Commissions will open up at ten am tomorrow for paid patrons and then noon for non-patrons.
RULES:
Original Characters (OCs) only. No Critical Role characters.
No hate speech in any form.
All genres open with discussion.
Commissioner will send me a brief that includes details about their characters/setting/request and I will have two weeks from agreement of brief and $50 deposit to deliver the fic.
PRICES:
$75 per 500 words for non-smut
$100 per 500 words for smut
I’ve never opened up for commissions before, so I’m very excited! Let’s build something fun together. 🩵

Using this opportunity to link my post about the history of Xica Manicongo, the first documented non indigenous trans woman in Brazil, and how her history and the history of black trans women was depicted in Rio's Carnaval in 2025 by the Tuiuti samba school
there's a lot of pushback against the idea that the US is culturally dominant to the point of pushing out other voices particularly around pride so lets break it down with some numbers.
firstly a primer on why it sucks. the internet is often the first space a queer person can be themselves and explore their identity but the american centric internet forces out the history, voices and identities of non-americans. despite being minorities within their own country (as all queer people are in every country) they benefit from the rest of the world being forced to learn their history and conform to their standards while being free to ignore global issues.
wikipedia is the globally edited and available source of knowledge so lets get to the numbers:
LGBTQ Movements
18 photos total, 9 of which are american and 9 for the rest of the world combined. except that 3 of those 9 international photos are infographic maps. and stonewall is still the first and most prominent picture.
Same sex marriage
3 american photos compared to 6 international. but 4 of those are once again graphs and to add insult to injury, one of the two international photos is just labelled parents with child requiring to go to the wikimedia stats to learn they are german.
Societal attitudes towards homosexuality
6 photos of which 3 are american and 3 international but once again 2 are infographics and the last is ancient greek because apparently the rest of the world has zero opinion on the gays
LGBTQ Community
4 american, rest of the world 3
Transphobia
3 american, rest of the world 2
no matter where we go we cannot escape stonewall. no matter what source we find it prioritises the american experience. we canot escape american ideals, american values or american rhetoric. the american history is required while our own is considered niche.
we just want a fair portion of the voice.
#sometimes i think about this and how frustrating it is#not only on pride related things#but how sometimes i end up knowing more about US history or politics on a specific topic#than I know about it from my own county#just bc i spend i lot of time on the internet#and not only the internet is very US centric the fandoms i'm in are too so a lot of the people who I follow are also from the US#so it's kinda natural that that happens#and on one hand i could be the change i want to see in the world#and share more about my country#but also so many times i feel like people just don't give a shit#they're not as interested and will not care as much#but i guess that's just how the internet is with everything#you're talking to everyone and with no one at the same time

The William Morris acanthus pattern key block, just for fun.
Now, I have a bad habit of never being honest about how long something takes me to carve: this postcard-sized block took me exactly four Lord Peter Wimsey radio dramatisations, or to use a more prosaic unit of measurement, well over eleven hours.

Sorry, I noticed I only see part 1 and 3 but not 2. Beautiful work and congrats 👏
Aha! So this is what baby-brain is like!
So sorry for the confusion. Here are parts 1, 2, 3, and 4:

This story is NOT in my upcoming book, 'Ew, It's Beautiful' but ~140 of my best of my best comics are! Including about 40 that I never publicly posted. Get it online wherever you buy books! I've also been told that it has started appearing in some stores, mysteriously! Let me know if you have stumbled across it in the wild.
