Clara took her sunglasses off and set her bag down on the towel, then pulling her hair back into a small little half-ponytail.   “Yes, definitely.  I’d love to.”  She agreed, excitedly looking out at the ocean.

The Doctor didn’t sleep often, but as he cuddled up with Clara, he could feel himself getting a bit tired.  “Now might not be a horrible time for a nap,” he told her, lying himself down against her and cuddling close.

Clara instantly perked up and she rushed to his side.  Standing on her tippy-toes Clara tried to see over XI’s shoulder to read what the monitor said, about where her Doctor was.  Despite eventually getting a clear view, she still couldn’t understand what it meant. “What does it say?  Do we know where he is?  Is he safe?”  She couldn’t help the rapid fire questions- she was feeling incredibly anxious.

"Doctor!!!! Help!!"

Picking up on the message, the newest Lord President of Gallifrey had yet to identify the source. “Hello? I can hear you. What is it? What’s wrong?”

“Yea, of course.”  Clara nodded and pushed a strand of hair back behind her ear as she looked down at her feet, almost shyly.  “I could use some caffeine after everything that’s been going on lately anyway..”

Off Hiatus

Hi everyone.  I haven’t been active in very long, but finally I’m back.  I’ll be responding to lots of old threads and new ones if anyone wants to start a new one, and if you’d like to continue an old one just respond back.  Excited to be back again!

Clara noticed Carver’s apprehension to her action, but she didn’t remove her hand. She smiled and just continued to hold his gently as she led him to the door.

“Yes it does. I’m glad I can spend it with you.”

“Thank you.” She smiled. “And they should be fine.. I wear them often. They’re so worn in they feel comfortable now anyways.” She walked closer and gently took his hand in hers. “Are you ready?”

      PREGNANCY -

❝ We’re going to be parents! ❞ ❝ Did you feel him/her/them kick!? ❞ ❝ Do you want to feel the baby? ❞ ❝ I’m pregnant…and it’s yours. ❞ ❝ Do you think I’ll make a good mother/father? ❞ ❝ What are you hoping for? ❞ ❝ I feel so nauseous today… ❞ ❝ What should we name him/her/them? ❞ ❝ How many diapers do you think we’ll need? ❞ ❝ You’re crying over a puppy? ❞ ❝ Is just strawberry okay? They didn’t have strawberries and cream. ❞ ❝ I’ve read this book four times I’m basically an expert by now. ❞ ❝ Boy or girl? ❞ ❝ Wait, do we have everything on this list I found? ❞ ❝ Can you put the crib together? I’m so tired. ❞ ❝ This kid can come out anytime it’s ready. ❞       ❝ You’re glowing. ❞ ❝ How far along are you? ❞ ❝ Please don’t freak out…but I’m pregnant. I SAID DON’T FREAK OUT. ❞ ❝ Hospital. Now! ❞ ❝ I think that was a contraction… ❞ ❝ The due date’s not until next week! ❞

     NEW BABY -

❝ S/He’s your kid before five in the morning. ❞ ❝ We need to go on a diaper run again. ❞ ❝ We’re out of formula–where’s the other can!? ❞ ❝ Ugh, s/he spit up on my good shirt! ❞ ❝ S/he won’t stop crying, I don’t know what to do. ❞         ❝ Please take him/her, I’m going to go crazy with the screaming. ❞ ❝ Is it even possible for a baby to scream so much!? ❞ ❝ Should they be breathing like that? ❞ ❝ I need to go check on the baby. ❞     ❝ If you never put him/her down you’ll spoil him/her. ❞ ❝ Daddy/Mommy’s little girl/boy! ❞ ❝ Good morning, little spawn of Satan! ❞ ❝ Shhh, they’re finally asleep.  ❞     ❝ Dammit, I just got them to sleep! ❞ ❝ Be careful, s/he’s a hair puller…. ❞ ❝ Where’s the pacifier!? ❞ ❝ I can’t find his/her blanket, please help me. ❞     ❝ I’ve been up since four this morning, it’s your turn. ❞ ❝ I found you and the baby sleeping in the recliner at six am and it was so precious. ❞ ❝ Stroller, diaper bag, playpen, blanket, bottles, what else do we need before we go to your parents? ❞ ❝ A babysitter!? Are you insane!? ❞     ❝ You’re going to spoil them. ❞     ❝ We can’t go out with the baby, that’s just asking for trouble. ❞ ❝ Baby’s awake… ❞ ❝ S/he’s so precious…. ❞ ❝ This is our son/daughter…. ❞ ❝ We make damn beautiful babies. ❞ ❝ Look at his/her little feet… ❞ ❝ S/he has your eyes. ❞ ❝ Do not dress him/her in that! ❞     ❝ Be careful with him/her! ❞ ❝ Did you remember to pack his/her toy? ❞ ❝ His/her first tooth came in today. ❝ The kids won’t stop fighting. ❞ ❝ We should have another. ❞ ❝ Stop giving them dessert before dinner! ❞ ❝ You’re going to spoil them rotten… ❞ ❝ You need to learn not to fall for the puppy dog eyes.  ❞ ❝ I just love them so much!? ❞     ❝ How are we going to break the news to them that they’re getting a brother/sister? ❞ ❝ Their screaming woke the baby… ❞     ❝ I’m a horrible mother/father… ❞ ❝ How can you make the baby hush and I can’t? ❞ ❝ Was that a word!? ❞ ❝ His/her first word better not be a damn cuss word! ❞     ❝ You look exhausted. ❞ ❝ First steps! First steps! ❞ ❝ Watch, s/he can roll over now! ❞ ❝ I don’t want anyone else watching our baby/children. ❞     ❝ They totally wanted to build the pillow fort, not me. ❞ ❝ Can you manage dropping them off? ❞ ❝ Damn terrible twos, right? ❞ ❝ How did they outgrow their clothes so fast!? ❞    ❝ I think we make damn good parents. ❞ ❝ Why are both you and the baby crying? ❞ ❝ Here, I’ll watch him/her, you go relax. ❞ ❝ I haven’t been able to put her/him down all morning/day/night. ❞     ❝ S/he doesn’t want me, s/he wants you! ❞ ❝ S/he just ran into the coffee table, don’t worry. ❞ ❝ Stop fighting with me in front of the kid/s! ❞ ❝ We shouldn’t have dressed the twins in matching outfits… ❞     ❝ Can I hold him/her? ❞ ❝ S/he has separation anxiety because you never put them down! ❞ ❝ My mother always hoped my kids would end up like me…I’m so sorry. ❞ ❝ I wouldn’t let them do ____, so they started crying. ❞   ❝ Oh, s/he’s just a little angel! ❞ ❝ Hello, little one! ❞ ❝ I can babysit if you’d like. ❞ ❝ Guess who broke your favorite ____. ❞   ❝ Finally got him/her/them to sleep. ❞ ❝ It’s your turn to put him/her/them to bed. ❞ ❝ I hate bath time. ❞ ❝ Can you help me with the kids for five goddamn minutes!? ❞   ❝ I think ____ is jealous of the baby. ❞ ❝ ___ just hit ___, can you do something!? ❞ ❝ Is locking kids in the basement against the law!? ❞ ❝ They’re cute when they’re quiet. ❞ ❝ Maybe taking them to the park will let out all their energy. ❞ ❝ _____ colored on the walls today… ❞ ❝ Look at the mess they made again… ❞

Clara blushed and chuckled.

“Thank you..” she said, looking down at herself briefly. “This is just casual for me.” She smiled brightly up at him. “Don’t worry. I think you look great too.”

A few minutes later Clara walked back out into her living room, now wearing a red skater dress with white and grey patterns on it.  Her hair was in a bun, and she was wearing small brown boots.  She figured this was ideal for the weather- not too hot, not too cold.  She calmly waited for Carver, sitting on her couch and unlocking her phone to read notifications she hadn’t seen yet for that day.

“I’d love that.” Clara got up from her chair and looked down at herself. She looked incredibly disheveled because of the day’s prior events. “Just give me a quick second to change and I’ll be back out.” With that, she walked back to her room to go find a clean change of clothes.

“Free time?” She laughed lightly to relieve the mood. “Me having free time is quite rare. But I do like taking walks to keep calm and free my mind.” She smiled at Carver, striving for her happiness to return.

Clara gave a thoughtful little “Hm” as she came full circle around the console and was now standing right next to him.  She was looking at the monitor, and where exactly he was tracking her Doctor.  She was right next to him, so she could feel the heat of his body radiating off onto hers.  When she went to go push a piece of her hair behind her ear, her fingers brushed his forearm ever so slightly-but just that was enough to make her blush.

She’d wondered if the TARDIS could sense the tension in the room, or if it was just all made up in her head.  She wondered if XI could feel it too...

After getting lost in her thoughts for a moment or so Clara spoke up. “It feels weird.  I haven’t flown in a TARDIS in so long.”

"Doctor!!!! Help!!"

“No, I want to.”  Clara said, a little toon quickly.  Then she corrected herself and said again, slower this time, “I want to.  It’s definitely a lot better than sulking here all day.  What would you like to do?”

Clara rest her head in her hand, while still managing to look up at him.  Her eyes looked sad and a little drained. “You don’t have to do that, really.”  She felt bad- as if he was feeling guilty and only staying for that reason.

Clara let out a slight chuckle and looked up at him, blushing. “You think so?  I mean, I’m not really wearing anything special... and I must look so disheveled since we just woke up.”

"I never told you, but I was married once before."

Clara paused what she was doing and turned to the Doctor, staring at him with a slight frown.“You were?” She asked, leaning back against the console of the TARDIS. “To who?”

Clara sat silent for a minute, biting her lip.

“Yea... so did mine...” She cringed, feeling the small pain on the back of her head again. “I don’t know what to do..”
