Every time I reread "Ruby Red" Grace×Falk drives me a little wild

I know they only serve as a parallel to Gwen×Gideon and to warn Gwendolyn off Gideon, but...

...the way they both say "I was young and easy to impress" about each other totally independently without knowing that the other said the same ...the way Falk still knows *exactly* what happened back then ...the way both of them fucked up their relationship by being jealous ...the way they obviously still hold some fondness (and attraction) for each other in their hearts while profoundly disdaining some part of who the other person has become over the last decades

AND ALL OF THIS ABOUT THREE WEEKS THEY WERE TOGETHER AT SEVENTEEN, WHEN NOW THEY'RE OVER FORTY

Absolutely hilarious to me that the ton is gonna be speculating on why and how Penelope and Colin ended up engaged and there’s definitely gonna be some entrapment/pity rumours going around but the actual truth of it is that Colin chased a carriage down, fell to his knees and went “please please please please please please please”

The best thing the movies did as an adaptation was expanding Effie’s role, making her more obviously sympathetic to Katniss and Peeta, and not letting an incredible performance by Elizabeth Banks go to waste.

like I have perpetual hunger games brainrot but. I do think so much about how a majority of the capitol citizens were content to spend like 75 years celebrating, promoting, betting on, and just generally enjoying the brutal and unnecessary murders of 23 living children, but when peeta dropped the baby bomb and they were under the impression that a fetus was going to be in the arena w its living (16-17 year old!!!) mother?? there were riots and demands for the games to be canceled. it took a nonexistent unborn baby for the capitol citizens to openly question and criticize the games and that was absolutely not an accident on suzanne collins part.

Okay so...

Betty White died, new years eve 2021. It felt like she, somehow, would live forever. An immutable, universal constant. She had a TV career spanning most of the history of television itself.

She always had a progressive mindset. She set an example for other people her age to be better and learn and grow with the times. She never stopped learning, never stopped helping, never stopped being a light shining in darkness. She was a truly extraordinary woman who did everything she could to leave this world better than she found it.

It feels like the world is now just that little bit worse for her no longer being in it, but let's try to follow her example. Things are hard right now but let's keep going. Keep moving forward.
