WC: 1358 TW/CW: canon typical mentions of violence/childhood trauma, blood, Jason Gideon’s death, grieving. Lowkey unhinged time for Garza. A/N: I did bend some canon things to make it more condusive to my own fanfic, but the gist is still the same as Nelson’s Sparrow. Only the cabin belonged to Jess’s serial killer mother, and she has a complicated relationship with the building. Summary: grief is stupid, and Jess Garza will be the first to admit it. Based during Nelson’s Sparrow, Garza figures out how the hell she’s supposed to grieve when the man she knew isn’t the one everyone’s talking about. (Hotch and Jess are in a relationship at this point, it’s mentioned but not explicitly).

just stumbling in here to say, what if cardigan/betty/august isn't the great love triangle of folklore, but it's the les mis of folklore. cardigan is cosette, betty is epionine, august is fantine.

I'm only being a little bit silly (this is thought out but not written out like i have a full thought):

Cardigan/In My Life::

(This one feels like a stretch, but hear me out, Betty really feels like something that Betty would write hoping for an apology or a big confession of love, I never feel like there was a confession of love but rather it was just Betty hoping, wishing, wanting, and with this i reject folklore canon of betty being the protagonist of cardigan)

so im very much aware how everyone on the team has been thru some shit, but EMILY HAS BEEN THRU SO MUCH IT HURTS MY HEART. she got pregnant at 15, got an abortion, lost her best friend she'd had since she was a kid, lost one of her old friends she'd had when she worked at Interpol, had to pretend to fall in love with a criminal just for that criminal to come back and try to kill her, who also literally BURNT her chest might i add, oh and yk stabbed her with a table leg right in the stomach, she had to fake her death and hide in paris so nobody would find her, she was taken by scratch and was made to believe she was literally being tortured.

not to mention all the times she got beaten up/hurt during cases

but that's all totally normal right???
