The tingling sensation faded. There was an agonizing moment where nothing happened, and Harry feared he’d failed.
No, don’t do that, don’t shut me out, don’t—
He appeared flourishing of black and dazzling gold.
Not behind him, not in some ominous corner where he might pretend to be stealthy. Voldemort materialized directly in front of the door of Harry’s room, and Harry could sum up his expression and aura both in a single word:
Baffled.
Or maybe bamboozled would have been more appropriate, or flabbergasted, or something even more ridiculous. Harry had never seen Voldemort look so utterly confused; he probably never had. Harry might have found it funny if he weren’t so worked up with nerves, so tightly wound with the feelings he’d conjured up so quickly.
But he didn’t need to panic anymore. He came.
Harry crossed the room in two long strides, and for perhaps the first time ever, Voldemort was the one taking an uncertain step back in response. But Harry was fast, and before the Dark Lord could likely wrap his head around what was happening, Harry was upon him.
“Thank you,” he breathed. Harry placed both hands on his face, looked straight into his widened, red eyes, and kissed him.
Softly, slowly. Harry had never initiated a kiss like that before, and he was not disappointed in the results. After another heartbeat where Voldemort’s body went rigid, where his magic too seemed to come to a stunned standstill, he crumbled.
Voldemort’s lips parted and he pulled Harry closer, and if he was still confused—how could he not be?—he seemed entirely intent to pretend otherwise. Harry’s arms wound around his neck and relief, waves of it, washed over him.
He came. He came, he’s here.
And his magic. Voldemort’s magic warmed in a gorgeous way, a rosy hue that eclipsed nearly all the black, dancing with the sparks of gold and yes, Harry could not deny it now that the word had been thrown in his face—blooming with love.
He loves me. Even if he doesn’t know it.
Harry’s tongue slid against his and that rosy hue intensified; he felt lightheaded himself. His fingers trailed up Voldemort’s neck, twining into his hair, and…
It was damp. Harry pulled back.
“Why…?”
Now that he looked properly, Harry could see a few things he’d not noticed upon his arrival. Voldemort’s hair was wet. And–he was wearing black, he was always wearing black, but… he was wearing silky pants that were definitely suited for lounging at home, not practicing evil, dark magic or doing other nefarious, probably political, Dark Lord things. And he did have his usual dark robe on over that, but…
No shirt underneath.
As though he’d just rushed to get dressed before heeding Harry’s desperate, yearning summons from Malfoy Manor at half past midnight.
“I—were you… were you… in the shower?”
It was the obvious conclusion, strange though it was, and it was confirmed when Voldemort, to Harry’s utmost surprise… blushed.

Deleted Tomarry fics
I've recently set up a Google Drive folder linking up to many deleted fics. I have a little hobby of tracking down great deleted fics and downloading them for my pleasure, and I'd say I've gotten pretty good at it tbh. I didn't realize I have so many now, so I set up a drive folder and decided to make it public.
I have it organised by author, so hopefully you can recognize the stuff. I'll put the names of the authors in the tags, and you're def gonna recognize them. People on twitter are already freaking out about everything I have lol. (P.S. ever heard of yours, in murder by May Marlow? Read it. Cuz I got it.)
So please enjoy my library of recovered fics. I also take requests if you want me to find a deleted fic of some sort. Altho be warned, my area of expertise is tomarry, but I'm sure I could still track down a few fics.
Edit: Btw I'm still adding fics to this folder. So if there's anything you're missing out on I suggest coming back to check every once in a while.

Tips for Writing a Difficult Scene
Every writer inevitably gets to that scene that just doesn't want to work. It doesn't flow, no matter how hard you try. Well, here are some things to try to get out of that rut:
1. Change the weather
I know this doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference, but trust me when I say it does.
Every single time I've tried this, it worked and the scene flowed magically.
2. Change the POV
If your book has multiple POV characters, it might be a good idea to switch the scene to another character's perspective.
9/10 times, this will make the scene flow better.
3. Start the scene earlier/later
Oftentimes, a scene just doesn't work because you're not starting in the right place.
Perhaps you're starting too late and giving too little context. Perhaps some description or character introspection is needed before you dive in.
Alternatively, you may be taking too long to get to the actual point of the scene. Would it help to dive straight into the action without much ado?
4. Write only the dialogue
If your scene involves dialogue, it can help immensely to write only the spoken words the first time round.
It's even better if you highlight different characters' speech in different colors.
Then, later on, you can go back and fill in the dialogue tags, description etc.
5. Fuck it and use a placeholder
If nothing works, it's time to move on.
Rather than perpetually getting stuck on that one scene, use a placeholder. Something like: [they escape somehow] or [big emotional talk].
And then continue with the draft.
This'll help you keep momentum and, maybe, make the scene easier to write later on once you have a better grasp on the plot and characters.
Trust me, I do this all the time.
It can take some practice to get past your Type A brain screaming at you, but it's worth it.
So, those are some things to try when a scene is being difficult. I hope that these tips help :)

Day 21: Chains
He has enough slack to lie down, and not much else. The restraints are tight enough to chafe and seem to burn slightly even when he’s sitting completely stationary. Harry fears that if nightmares come and he begins to thrash in his sleep they might cut through his wrists entirely.

You-Know-Who has posted a new chapter of my favorite fic, so I decided to follow up with her and post some new artwork.
I can't decide which version I prefer, so I'll just post them all.

This Week (x3) in Tomarrymort (21 June – 10 July 2025)
A little late with this update, but adding 2 more beautiful fics to the completed reads pile! Next update will take us through July 31, so will include all the Harry James birthday fics 🤍

Tomarrymort Completed Must Reads
⭐ the night is cold in the kingdom by @girl-with-goats (M, 77k, complete)
Tom Riddle becomes a Minister for Magic on his way to achieve his goals and restore his full magical abilities after the defeat caused by an innocent baby. What he doesn't take into account in the net of his political intrigue is the new Head Auror, Harry Black, who turns his world upside down.
Why you should read it: This is such a cool political AU with Minister for Magic Tom Riddle, chock full of political intrigue and assassination attempts and not knowing who to trust or where anyone’s loyalties lie. I loved the Tom POV and seeing how Tom has adapted to losing his magic (instead of getting disembodied) the night that he went to kill Harry.
⭐ the waves made of fingers and the darkness that lingers rips into the bark of our bones by @boyneptunee (M, 15k, complete)
Harry thinks for the life of him, that his husband doesn't love him, that he only married him for his money and name. Or: The adventures of Amnesiac!Tom and an exasperated Harry as they try to navigate their marriage.
Why you should read it: A beautiful twist on established relationship Tomarry, in which Tom loses all his memories, and he and Harry have to navigate the path to falling in love all over again.

tom riddle could only ever die the ways stars do:
burned up by his own brilliance; soul scattered in every corner of the cosmos; collapsed under his own weight
(there’s power in a name, you know)
he always burned too bright, and he’d go out that way too—
the husk of his potential, reduced to ash. folded in on himself: the writhing, rotting mass of his body set to swallow the world whole.
he always had his own gravity—inescapable—and they lined up to watch him
see the way he tore himself apart? the way his heart was made of hydrogen, the lightest thing in the universe?
they’ll see him streak across the sky, pale against the inkblot of time and space. stretching in every direction, trying to outrun his fate
(vol de mort—a fancy way of saying death was chasing, and he was born to flee)
in an infinitely expanding universe, nothing can live forever—but it can go on and on (and up in flames)
so he was born under pressure; bone white; blinding. with a grief that feels ancient, and a billion years worth of hunger, tom riddle was as cold as the great expanse of space
and now he’s left behind a hole in the sky. a gaping wound, left to fester
(death eaters, he called them—
so death licked its teeth, starving)
he gave everything just to be seen. to end up more myth than man; ashes to ashes; dust on the wind
(but they still tell the stories of the constellations
even thousands of years past the time they were written
in a way, that’s a little bit like immortality—
don’t you think?)
at his core, he is an echo. what remains when the light goes out. more beautiful—and tragic—for being finite
and even after all this time:
“look at the stars,” we say, pointing at the sky
and it all feels far away
(i can touch you now)
tom riddle got too close, is all
