Because they still haven't brought up the fact that Tree is unable, or able to, because we don't know, to communicate with the earth. We've never seen him do it. In Darkness Within there was a scene where Rootspring felt frustrated that Tree hadn't used this ability to look for the Sisters so they wouldn't have had to go on the search party themselves. Reading it for the first time, I assumed we'd get back into this topic later in the book. But no, it was just frickin BristleRoot for the rest of DW. And probably the rest of the whole arc too. I waited until TPONS came out to draw this lil comic since I hoped they'd mention it there, but no, at this point I'm beginning to think that the Erins just forgot or don't care. Kinda weird how Rootspring learnt to talk to the land right away and Tree tried for his whole childhood onwards but unsuccessfully. Is the earth actually angry with him?

There's only one TBC book left, and so many unanswered and untouched things. And watch ALITM be a BristleRoot lovestorybook part 3. S i g h
