The (Christian) religious right that has banded behind Trump is so bizarre to me. The Catholic Church has continuously condemned his behavior. As someone who was Protestant ADJACENT, he continuously displays the opposite of Christlike behavior. Long before he was president, when he was kicking dying AIDS victims out of their apartments, divorcing multiple wives, hoarding wealth. His behavior has gotten worse as his power increased. Being a Christian used to mean believing in community and charity and redemption, believing everyone deserved to eat and be housed and receive medical care and education and working towards those goals. Now the ‘religious right’ cheers on the destruction of families, the loss of healthcare, the loss of educational opportunities, the cutting of social programs.

Jesus gave handouts. Jesus gave free medical care. Jesus saw people as they were and told them they could be redeemed and they followed him for that. These are all things these people are opposed to.

Sokka and Zuko get SO much funnier when you remember this is both of their first times talking to another teenage boy in years. unwoke or whatever but I think cheating is abuse. human relationship are flexible and humans are perhaps not lifelong monogamists by nature but cheating in what was supposed to be a monogamous relationship is a breach of trust and often a deep wound inflicted on your partner. I’m not one of those freaks who thinks ‘cheating should be illegal’ or whatever but I really do not empathize with cheaters. even if your relationship is in shambles, end it cleanly before you start fucking someone else. bringing a third party in is a great way to make things much worse, much more vitriolic and much more complicated.

I didn't really see it as her being a child of divorce, but rather a TCK (third culture kid). TCKs are normally children of immigrants, and have a unique feeling of not being able to truely belong in either culture. SHe probably faced alot of pressure in school to be "more American" as well as not being Korean enough at home.

Is Zoey a child of divorce?

She's also (at least I think so) neurodivergent and is afraid she comes off as "too much" so I wonder if she blames herself for putting strain on her parent's relationship?

Her not enough mentality, being seen as the glamorous State-sider by the fans, combined with her role as lead lyricist (which she's clearly excels at) makes me wonder if she was also labeled a gifted kid in school since we often see her get paired with school imagery particularly during Golden.

i know we all got hit hard by the “why couldn’t you love me?” - “i do” - “all of me!” scene between rumi and celine, but what makes this scene hit so much harder is that celine refuses to touch any of rumi’s patterns

while trying to comfort her, celine raises her hand and almost touches rumi’s cheek, the one where her patterns and eye are glowing specifically, but pulls her hand away in the last second. and it’s only after putting her jacket over rumi’s shoulders that she actually makes contact with her. she literally won’t connect -physically and emotionally- with rumi’s demon side

combined with her refusing to look at rumi and even at this point being more concerned with appearances… oh this movie and its metaphors, i’m gonna be so ill
