thinking abt how sharing yourself is an essential part of orv. as in, hsy lost half her memories, maming her clone sentient, yet that clone is the reason the story exists. as in, yjh fighting his other half, that one part keen on living on, on meeting his companions once again. as in, kdj giving almost half his memories to a clone to be able to fulfil his so-called duty while still being able to be with his friends.

as in, sharing yourself may lead to you losing an integral part of you, but it's going to worth it bc there's so much love, so much happiness achievable. and it's always going to be worth it

i love how Kim Dokja's kids solely think about Han Sooyoung as mom's special friend Craig who you like cause he'll take you to mcdonald's when he picks you up from dance practice once a week... while Yoo Joonghyuk is stuck as: Katharina Von Beaumont, Evil stepmother.

Hey, can we talk about the fact that one of kdj's biggest traumas is indisputably the way the publishing of his mother's book affected his life. He felt powerless and on display, and it severely hurt his ability to connect with other people.

But honestly, if I saw that book at a bookstore, I would have picked it up and read it and thought wow im so glad she was able to tell her story. I would have fallen into the trap lsk sets, and never thought deeper about how it happened. And this book was said to be really inspiring and the way the other prison women stands up for lsk you can see they sympathize with her story and maybe there were plenty of women who felt seen and heard from that story.

Its popularity meant a decent amount of money was made off of it that went straight to kdj's cousins pocket. Everyone profited from this novel in some way, everyone but kdj. (That's why he's the fool that has never dreamed of his own happiness, he can't picture it, it's always been everyone except him.)

So tell me why, kimcom + everyone writing orv and collecting the pieces they knew of him and spreading them out, not to one universe like his mother, but the eternal ever-multiplying universes and that is what saves him.

The exact same action, both born out of love and despair. One ruined him, and the other brought him home.

As a reward for helping with a problem, John Constantine wants to give Bruce a chance to talk to his parents. “I can only do one at a time, thought, so, who’s first?”

Bruce sweats, “That won’t be necessary.”

The batkids watch like ??? they’ve seen Bruce in every state a man could succumb and raise, but they’ve never seen him scared. Alfred calmly steps forward, “Please do.”

“No. Don’t.”

John “I don’t want peace, I want trouble, always” Constantine smells some opportunity for chaos and grabs it.

The result of that is the very angry spirit of Thomas Wayne fixing Bruce with the glare of the year, “You dropped oUT OF MED SCHOOL?!” The entire mansion seems to tremble.

Bruce yelps like a scolded cat and runs around the dining table, “I was busy with BATMAN—“

“ Che cazzo è un Batman, — Get back here! You were there a year, — Che cazzo fai, CHE CAZZO FAI?! Pack your bags, you’re going back.”

To the batkids’ absolute horror Bruce starts to cry, face watery and bright, and they finally understand what Alfred meant by tantrums. “Non voglio tornare indietro, papà!”

“Non mi interessa, cazzo, — wait till your mother hears about this, Harley graduated with HONORS. What exemple are you giving to my grandkids? Don’t — Don’t run, GET BACK HERE!”

Tim sweats in high school dropout, Dick sweats in cop, Jason sweats in drug lord, Damian sweats in art kid, and Stephanie just sweats in general.

“Should, uh… Should we help?”

“Are you kidding? I haven’t seen Jason this happy since the Queen died.”

orv presents such a deep and fundamental connection between yjh and kdj (and hsy) that it truly doesn’t matter that the genre is not BL. it’s still a story about love, love between reader and character, writer and reader, love toward your friends, and love that is something more than friendship. you can just call them companions, you can call it queerplatonic, or downright gay — none of those readings are wrong.

first, because authors acknowledge the romantic tension through uriel, and uriel is not treated as a one-note one-off joke character. her fangirling is funny but ultimately treated with respect.

second, because han sooyoung herself gives a lecture in the epilogue about how it matters what you, the reader, take away from the novel. if you read it and it was about kim dokja and yoo joonghyuk being in love, then that’s what it was and nobody can tell you otherwise.

AU where Bruce still goes away to train and becomes Batman, but like at an extremely young age. He ran away and gave Alfred a heart attack, and then came back from training in the LOA, with all the 14 year old teenaged angst he can muster.

One day they go to the circus because Alfred is running out of normal bonding activities that Bruce hasn't gotten them banned from yet. Except Dick’s parents die and Bruce demands they do something about it. So Alfred adopts Dick. Then Bruce brings Jason home. And Tim. And Alfred keeps getting more and more children. The relationship dynamics between them all are different because Bruce is the oldest BROTHER and has no authority over them, so when they want to fight crime too he really has no say in it.

Bruce- (15-17 years old and full of rage) Can’t you stop them, Alfred?! Alfred- Oh, so they can run away to the League of Assassins as you did? Now, go to the Batcave and teach Master Timothy how to throw a proper punch. Bruce- Ugh. This is so unfair.

Do you think that Kim Dokja ever got a Perry the Platypus moment where, thanks to his censored face, people only recognised him by his dramatic white trenchcoat. So he was just like.....normally going around with normal clothes and people are like "oh, an incarnation" before he puts on his white coat and then they're like "*gasp* Kim Dokja the Incarnation!"

Things Kaz canonically does in the two years between Crooked Kingdom and Rule of Wolves:

(presumably) massively expands the Dregs' territory

buys Pekka's old club (the Emerald Palace) and completely renovates it, turning it into The Silver Six

massively expands the Crow Club to the point where it's "three times the size of every other establishment on the block"

builds an underground tunnel that goes from the Crow Club to the Geldstraat, where the Van Eck Mansion is

takes Jesper out on jobs with him often enough that Wylan has jokingly banned Jesper from answering the door when he knocks

learns about Ketterdam's Suli laborers and picks up additional knowledge of Suli culture

keeps up with Inej's whereabouts and helps her take out slavers

expands his information network to the Kerch colonies

is on friendly enough terms with the King of Ravka that he taught Nikolai how to pick locks and Nikolai feels comfortable personally writing him a letter when he needs to steal the titanium from Kerch

disguises himself just to follow people around on the streets

was planning to steal the titanium from the military base anyway just for fun

And that's just the stuff we see from Nikolai's and Zoya's incredibly limited perspectives during their Ketterdam sidequest

I 100% agree with Zoya when she thinks that "maybe Kaz was like Nikolai, a boy with an unquiet mind, a man in perpetual need of challenge" because ROW makes it so obvious that Kaz is bored and incredibly restless in his success. Someone get our boy a new life's purpose and a subscription to a long-running unsolved mystery podcast stat

the dregs youtube channel run by anika and pim could also feature viral hits like "🔥SLAT KITCHEN NIGHTMARES🔥 ☠️☠️☠️" and "ranking the geezers" (dregs old guard or whatever). aggressively clickbait thumbnail for a keeg vs pim arm wrestle. the actual video itself is astoundingly low quality w way too much background noise. roeder gets rlly into conspiracies and films things like debunking the beurscanal bridge troll. however he doesn't want to speak on camera and it's all super low energy and unendearingly Bad and all his videos r unlisted
