Welcome to Classy Degrassi. My name is Holly and you might get the occasional post from my dear friend, Jenn. We're Degrassi fanatics who have a lot of feelings and opinions. This blog used to be about spreading peace in the DTC and while we still uphold that ultimate message, I'll be focusing more on liveblogging, ranting about Jimogen and giving all our followers the ultimate Degrassi experience. beautiful degrassian(s) creeping

Why do you hate Clare so much?
I got asked a question and if you have strong feelings for Clare Edwards, I hope you do not see this as a way to cause drama. I will leave this post untagged, like all the negative opinions I post, but please note, I am stating my own opinion on my own blog for someone who asked.
I hate any character who does something to hurt another/something selfish/uncalled for until said character makes up for it. I liked Katie a lot, but when she didn't do the right thing when it came to Fiona/Imogen, I didn't like her. And when she put Bianca in a bad place, I didn't like her more. Then she apologized to Bianca and I went back to being indifferent with her.
I haven't seen Clare aim to make anything better yet or right her wrongs. Alli made wrongs, but she apologized for them. Clare hasn't yet. And now she will, in the next episode, and I am excited for that. And maybe I'll like Clare again after I watch next week's episode. BUT I don't like that people are making Alli seem like a bad person for not jumping at the chance to be Clare's friend. I understand where Alli is coming from. Neither of them are in the wrong. Clare is trying to right her wrongs, Alli (who now has Jenna and Dave and is happy vs. Clare, who has probably now realized she has no friends without Jake now) is just being skeptic about it and is unsure if Clare will hurt her again when a boy comes in.
So now, yes, I don't like Clare because she's made mistakes and she hasn't apologized/righted them yet. That is why, dear anon.

I don't think that's true. I know all my friends would push aside their problems for me if I was feeling down. And I think any decent human being would do the same and wouldn't play the 'I have it worse' card.
But I agree, I'm happy Clare is owning up to it. I just understand why Alli wouldn't be so quick to jump at the chance to a) help Clare and b) forgive her. She tried to mend ties earlier for her mistake (which I still don't think was a mistake at all, Jake and Alli were both single, but Alli feels guilty because she knew Clare was still aching over the break up, so she DID apologize). And when Clare shot her down, that was that.
I'm just saying, I think Alli has a reason to hold out on Clare's proposal for friendship again.
“Clare focused on her own problems, LIKE ALL TEENAGE GIRLS.”
Are you freaking kidding me?
Hi, I’m a teenage girl in 11th grade and if my friend came to me with her problems, I would never EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER call her problems “pedestrian problems” in comparison to mine. EVER.
But I guess if I did, that would validate my actions because I’m a teenage girl.
