darius leaned casually against the stone wall of the town square, watching a pair of teenagers argue with all the intensity of a soap opera. their words were a strange mix of tiktok references and instagram drama. one of them stormed off in a huff, while the other stood there, phone still glued to their hand, processing whatever had just happened. he couldn't help but chuckle under his breath, shaking his head. "ah, young love," he said, turning to his friend. "how long do you think it'll take for them to get back together? i give it twelve hours—tops."

"I guess it depends on who you ask if it's in the future or if we're all just floating on a giant rock in the middle of space paying useless bills." Claudia shrugged while laughing lightly. "I think the whole daylight savings time is kind of annoying though. Like I enjoyed my hour of sleep but it does seem like the day goes by faster now we jumped an hour ahead."

"i mean, timezones are definitely beneficial. i personally wouldn't want to always be working in the middle of the night because that's what's considering the normal working hours," levi offered up a shrug, "i don't necessarily think i'd be considering it the future either. they're ahead of us, sure, but it's still happening at the same time."

"Maybe she's just trying to have a little fun without having her brother being overbearing with worry of her." She teased him, she understood where his sister was coming from and in a way she probably also wanted to give them space on their new found relationship of being back together. They haven't fully actually touch bases with boundaries and what not nor did they discuss what Claudia can do as a mother. It was still a new field since when she had Amalie, she was still a baby and now the little girl was old enough to understand certain things was kind of insane to think about.

"Never for chocolate," She said laughing. "I am actually glad you got chocolates and this pizza, should I be expecting anymore surprises? Like giving me a lap dance to the song Pony?" She quirked her eyebrow at Theo laughing at the image of him attempting to seduce her to magic mike.

“Oh, I know.” He nodded his head, truth be told Theo should have just left Claudia and Amalie to it for the weekend and headed to LA with his sister. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Claudia, it was more that, his sister insisted on him staying put. “I would have if she hadn’t insisted I stay here. She doesn’t always like me coming to her appointments. She doesn’t mind when it’s in town, but otherwise she wants me to stay back.” He looked down at her, tilting his head. He and Claudia really hadn’t spoken about her responsibilities but he was doing better with his trust issues now. “We should probably have a conversation about that though; huh?” It seemed like the sensible thing to do, though maybe not in dare night.

“Not tonight though,” he was quick to clarify, a grin creeping upon his lips as she spoke about the chocolate strawberries she’d devoured on throughout the day. “Sounds like I missed out,” he pouted, letting out a sigh. “Lucky we’ve gor those chocolates on your bedside table though, that’s if you’re not sugared out.” @claudiahuxley

"When I was twelve, my mom actually came back to spend time with me. Thinking back now, I realized she was just using me to impress her then boyfriend, but anyways, we went to the zoo and it was actually the first time I felt like I had a mother. She even got me this stuffed animal of a penguin."

🏡 What was their childhood living situation like?

"It was rough, my whole childhood wasn't exactly the greatest. Like my parents didn't fall in love and lived happily ever after type scenario. It was on a one night stand situation. But they assumed they needed to be the basic white family and marry and have a happy home. My mother is a free spirit while my father is more of a rule follower I mean he was a police officer. Anyways, my mom got tired of living the american dream and left so it was just my father and I. I mean don't get me wrong, my dad tried his best but sometimes you needed a mother and well, mine wasn't one. But I lived with a roof over my head and clothes on my body, he even supported me in college so...it wasn't so bad."

🎎 What was their favorite childhood toy?

"A bratz doll, or several bratz doll. My dad got me a lot growing up until I outgrew them. But I really enjoyed styling them in pretty clothes and shoes and fix their hair."

"You know I could've watched Amalie while you escorted your sister to her medical appointments." Claudia offered with a simple shrug of her shoulders. Although they haven't actually talked about that, she knew he still had a hard time allowing her full parental authority to their daughter, which she didn't blame him after the act she pulled. But she also knew he was worried about his sibling.

"Hmm...besides the amount of love in the air? I think it was good. I did splurge on chocolate covered strawberries which I was supposed to bring back to share but...." She trailed off with a smile, "I ate them because they wouldn't stop calling my name."

"Just us," he repeated with a wide grin. It was nice to be (nearly) completely alone with her, they didn't really get that a lot. He tried to convince his sister to babysit for the night but that had been a no go. "She's gone up to LA with one of her friends, she's got some medical treatment up there and they wanted to go shopping." Theo probably should have gone with her to look after her but he didn't want to drag Amalie with him. Digging into the pizza himself, he lounged back in his seat, glad to be finally relaxing as he'd found Valentine's Day rather stressful considering it was their first. "How was your day? Claudia was just happy to know she didn't have a fear of being trapped in an enclosed space, or dangling many flights of stairs. "Nope," she popped the p as she settled on the floor and wall of the elevator. "Well besides the fact I need to work on some work...not really, what about you?"

Kate grumbled, as she lay across the vinyl floor with her legs resting against the wall of the elevator, flicking through TikToks on her phone. She couldn't remember how long they'd been at a standstill for, but the silence between the two was becoming too much for her to bare. "You got somewhere to be?"

"did you know melbourne is a whole eighteen hours ahead of us?" makes a point of turning toward the person next to them as they ask their question. it's an unusual opening, but they're generally curious to find out if they're the only one who was unaware of this. "my sleep schedule is going to be completely off by the time this race is over."

"Oh to ourselves huh?" Claudia said with a wiggle of her brows as she laughs and took a seat down. She didn't realize how hungry she was until now when she looked at the heart shaped pizza again. This was beyond romantic and she was thankful to have Theo back in her life again, she just had this constant worry of losing him again.

"Where did your sister go?" She asked as she grabbed a slice and took a bite.

"Really," he confirmed, his arms reaching down to slide around her waist. His sister had gone out for the night, Amalie was already fast asleep so technically they had the house to themselves to enjoy valentines day in any way they wanted to. His grin widened when hers did as her eyes went to the pizza. "You must be hungry," He pressed a loving kiss to her cheek and then untangled himself from her to go and pour themselves a glass of wine each. "Sit, eat babe. "Really?" She said smiling at Theo. It was probably the first time she sent roses to someone, hell to a boyfriend in that matter. Usually she was all about the other sending her flowers and not the other way around. But she wanted to do something for Theo since he put up with her since moving in. It was an adjustment to living with a house full of people but she wouldn't have it any other way.

Seeing the set up he placed for her, Claudia couldn't stop the smile from widening at the gesture, especially the heart shaped pizza. It screamed Valentine's day, a day where they finally got to spend it as a couple was nice. It also had her nervous on how to act yet she pushed those uncertain feelings aside and allowed herself to enjoy the night with him. "This is wonderful babe, I wouldn't have it any other way...especially that pizza that is calling my name actually." She said as she felt her stomach growl at the sight.

Valentine's Day seemed to be quite a big thing to both of them considering they'd never celebrated it before, well, not together anyway. But things were going great, they'd survived their first month and a bit of living together and they hadn't killed each other yet. So, it really did seem like the perfect time to celebrate their relationship. When she walked into the room, Theo quickly walked up to her and kissed her. "I did," he said after he pulled away, grinning. "They were beautiful, thank you." When he pulled away he turned so she could see the bunch of roses he'd set up for her at their dining room table. Two glasses of champagne and a couple of heart shaped pizza's he'd managed to wrangle from the pizzeria. "Happy Valentines day, babe." He said to her, his arms moving to wrap around her waist from behind. "There's chocolates too but I left them on your nightstand." @claudiahuxley

"Ew...that's so tacky," Claudia grimaced at the thought of sending nudes to Theo. Although she did before Amalie was born but that was when she was younger and more...fun? Claudia was starting to question herself if sending nudes would have been a better choice, perhaps polaroid nudes, now that seemed more ideal. "I'm not sure, I was probably just going to put down some lame punch line or pick up line, I'm not big on the whole romantic poem or gesture, which is funny because here I am wondering what the hell I should send with these roses."

"Depends on what you're sending him, I suppose," Atlas says from behind a bouquet of roses that he had picked up with no intention of buying, he just wanted to smell them. After one whiff, he places them back down and deems them unworthy of the money before focusing on what Claudia was asking him.

"It's not weird but it is a little uninspired. Nudes is your safe bet, every boyfriend wants those."

Or maybe that was just him.

"What are you thinking of writing? I'll tell you if it sounds lame."

"Is this the part where you watch me drown from the crashing of the waves?" Claudia couldn't help but to tease the other. It wasn't a terrible idea but the thought of falling and crashing made her rethink the whole thing. It couldn't be that hard...right?

Claudia couldn't help but to smile at how optimistic he was about her moving in. It would definitely be better than going home to an empty apartment and she did enjoy whenever she did spend the night and waking up in the morning to Amalie waking her up along with Bruce. She figured why not give it a shot. What did she have to lose after all things were going back to normal now that she was clean and sober. Claudia laughed lightly as she nodded her head in agreement.

"Okay...I'll move in." She said happily as she gave his hand a gentle squeeze and glanced over her shoulder when she heard their daughter calling for them. "Let's go tell her the good news then." She lightly tugged him back toward the living room.

"Probably," Theo's quickly reminded that it was more than a little too fast, but at the same time they had to take into account how much time they'd known each other prior to Amalie which was quite a while. Really, they were just finishing what they started back then now that she was clean and sober. But he also was honest about it. "You're right it probably is too fast but like I said, you're basically living here anyway at this point." He was sat when she went home to her apartment, Amalie was sad when she went home, even Bruce the St Bernard was sad when she went home, so it just felt right. "It's okay," he assured her, squeezing her hands tight. "You'll be fine here, we can move you in over new years." He grinned down at her. "It's gonna be good, I promise Claud." @claudiahuxley
