To all my non Catholic followers on Ash Wednesday, please do not tell anyone you see with a cross on their foreheads today that they “have some dirt on their face”.  I personally don’t mind this because it gives me a chance to educate people about the Church, however it still is a bit insensitive to call something religious and meaningful “dirt”.

I seriously don’t understand tumblr and it’s hypocrisy. People are making jokes about Ash Wednesday and it’s all jokes and games but if someone mocked a Jewish or Muslim holiday they’d be seen as disrespectful and get a ton of hate. For a website that preaches equality and respect for all races, genders, and religions, you guys sure do like to choose which ones you do and don’t defend
