Lets suppose that you were able, every night, to dream any dream you wanted to dream.
And you would, naturally as you began on this adventure of dreams, you would fulfill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure, you see. And after several nights you would say, "well that was pretty great."
But now lets have a surprise. Lets have a dream which isn't under control. Where something is going to happen to me that i don't know what it's gonna be.
Then you would get more and more adventurous. And you would make further and further out gambles as to what you would dream. And finally you would dream where you are now.
If you awaken from this illusion and you understand that black implies white, self implies other, life implies death - you can feel yourself, not as a stranger in the world, not as something here on probation, not as something that has arrived here by fluke but you can begin to feel your own existence as absolutely fundamental.
What you are basically, deep, deep down, far, far in... is simply the fabric and structure of existence itself.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal.

I'm very happy to announce that the Paradise Film Festival has awarded me the honour of BEST ACTOR for my role in the short film 'Bully'. A humongous thank you to the judges and selection team at PFF, you guys rock!
When I produced Bully, the short suffered terrible audio issues on the day. Try as I might to work around every cicada chirp, bird tweet, car exhaust and construction noise in post, the short languished on the festival circuit (never film in the middle of summer). I'm pretty stoked that the short has finally been given some serious recognition. Props to Natalie, my director, the film crew and especially also to my talented co-star who gave an honest, vulnerable and nuanced performance.
Thanks to new audio technology, i'm in the process of re-releasing Bully with a newly polished and balanced vocal track, the way it was originally envisioned it. Keep your lids peeled ;)

On the other end of the film spectrum, I'm very happy to have been given an HONORABLE MENTION for my short film Bully by the team over at the Monza Film Festival. That's freakin' cool! :D
I just want to send my biggest thank you so muches over to the crew and judges @ MonzaFF for considering this little film of ours. I'm very happy to share the laurel with my old friend and colleague, Natalie Richards, who helped co-produce and direct it with me.

I'm so fortunate to have Archipelago become OFFICIAL SELECTION this month for the Luleå International Film Festival at Norrbottens län in Sweden. Thank you so much to the team at LIFF for accepting our production for your festival! Such fantastic news :)
UPDATE (31/08/24): We went on to be SEMI-FINALIST. Not bad.

To say i'm overwhelmed by the response to my short film of late is an understatement. The journey to get it to this point was long and fraught with numerous setbacks. But i'm very happy that our little film is gaining traction, being given recognition by so many generous people in the business and is being seen the world over in theatres, the way it was intended when I started out. I find that incredibly humbling.

"Go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something." -Kurt Vonnegut
