okok so some context for the above doodle ;;

blaster, as a cogless carrier bot with no cassettes, sometimes experiences flares of pain in his spark. his spark is intended to support cassette bonds, but without those bonds it's unstable. given that at this point, none of the miners really know what cassettes are, all they can do for blaster is offer him a shoulder to lean on when he needs it. physical contact with others doesn't make the pain go away, per se, but it makes it a little easier to endure. smokescreen, by nature of being a part of blaster's mining team, is often the anchor that blaster holds onto during these moments

there is in fact a whole fic being written about this au and though it is mostly blaster-centric, smokey does feature pretty prominently in it hehehe
