itâs so funny how genuinely confused people get if you feel about men the way men feel about women. disgusted by their bodies, annoyed by their voices, if you find their culture and the way they talk and they things they say banal and same-y and boring, if you find them mostly unfunny, if you think theyâre usually trying too hard, on average untrustworthy, incompetent, kind of stupid, generally unlikable, if you make specific concessions for specific men for shallow reasons but theyâre always on thin ice with you, if you make fun of them constantly and donât take their ideas or personhood very seriously, if their injury and death is less important, if you think the violence they suffer is often their fault, if you just find the way they look and talk and think to be grating on your nerves, and wish they were women⌠itâs okay though i have male friends

One part of the abortion question people kind of need to just accept is thag there is no equivalent situation to having someone entirely encased inside and dependent on your own body. It's a unique situation unlike anything else. So the person whose body is used like that must be the ultimate authority in the situation.

JK Rowling will die alone in that castle of hers, surrounded by no one. sure, she'll get a few days of attention and Harry Potter will be popular for a bit, but by the end of the month everyone will have moved on. she won't be remembered as a visionary who wrote a popular book series 20 years ago, she'll be remembered as a bigot who put down trans women and other cis women for the sake of some "agenda". She isn't a feminist. She's a bigot grafting the skin of an actually helpful political movement onto herself to pretend she cares about women.
Trans people, keep going. We'll outlive her. this law will get overturned. we have to keep moving forward

Women are instilled from an early age with a deep shame regarding our female anatomy.
We're told our genitals smell like fish, that "roast beef curtains," are hilarious and a sign that a woman is a sl*t, that our natural pubic hair is offensive. That periods are disgusting and shameful, and should be kept secret. We aren't even properly taught about our own anatomy- a lot of women don't know until later in life that the vulva and vagina are separate, and that the urethra is not the same opening as the vaginal opening.
There's hardly any research into female-specific medical conditions. Nearly 10% (1 in 10) women are afflicted with endometriosis, yet there's literally no research on what causes it. PCOS is also under-researched. It's all shoved under the rug, too stigmatised to be discussed.
While boys can talk freely about their dick and balls, the words "vagina" or "vulva," are still treated like a humiliating joke at best, and a vulgar obscenity at worst.
Men talk with pride about their genitals. To "grow a set" = to start acting tough and assertive. To "have big balls" = to be brave. "Big dick energy" = to be a charismatic "alpha" that commands attention.
Meanwhile, there are no positive cultural connotations regarding the vulva/vagina. Even "serving cunt" is used as a tongue-in-cheek memetic joke.
I think it's very predatory that shame, disgust and aversion about having a vagina/vulva is marketed as a sign that a girl/woman is dysphoric. That it should just be censored and called a "front hole" or a "bonus hole," to avoid the stigma. It's a cultural by-product of the crushing misogyny imbedded into society.
MOST women grow up feeling shame about having a vulva/vagina, and have to put conscious effort into unlearning that shame.

Is it any wonder that young girls and women don't want to identify with womanhood? What the hell is this and why is it in public?

Ultimately, men donât rape unless theyâre certain theyâre going to get away with it, it only looks like mindless and random impulse because our society is so structured to let men get away with it. Men rape more when they know women canât escape or speak up or punish them, and less when they can. Areas, cultures and situations where men rape less or more than other situations are not because of an innate personality, temperament or cultural enlightenment, it is because of differing opportunities and repercussions, which are all caused by a large variety of factors. You can argue that the impulse to rape and take advantage of these opportunities and the desire to perpetuate societies and socialisation that supports rape is genetic, but menâs raping is not mindless acting on genes. Likewise, you can argue some societies are structured differently that allow for an environment of more or less rape but ultimately every culture exists by perpetuating the rape of women and take any man from any culture and give him an opportunity like war and he will behave the same way.
This is why discussion of socialisation and the structure of our societies is more important to preventing rape than comparing different cultures or genes.

every time that Iâm reminded about how common it was for women to birth like 14 children just ~4ish generations ago (where I live/in my culture, obviously the timeline can be much different for other societies) I feel such a deep horror. Seriously, imagine what that would be like. Really picture the details of what it would mean to birth and raise that many children, and likely lose a few on the way. The brutality of it on your body and your mind. And thatâs how the common woman lived until only very recently. That was your life, the track you were slotted into from the moment you were born, to your own mother who probably had just as many children in her lifetime.
I consider how lucky I am to happen to have been born when and where I was. Billions of women havenât had this luck. And itâs entirely possible that billions more wonât have it, either. Womenâs rights donât progress on a linear track. If we donât constantly continue to fight, if we take what we have for granted as permanent, the past can easily become the future.

âRight-wing women have surveyed the world: they find it a dangerous place.
They see that work subjects them to more danger from more men; it increases the risk of sexual exploitation.
They see that creativity and originality in their kind are ridiculed; they see women thrown out of the circle of male civilization for having ideas, plans, visions, ambitions.
They see that traditional marriage means selling to one man, not hundreds: the better deal.
They see that the streets are cold, and that the women on them are tired, sick, and bruised.
They see that the money they can earn will not make them independent of men and that they will still have to play the sex games of their kind: at home and at work too.
They see no way to make their bodies authentically their own and to survive in the world of men.
They know too that the Left has nothing better to offer: leftist men also want wives and whores; leftist men value whores too much and wives too little.
Right-wing women are not wrong. They fear that the Left, in stressing impersonal sex and promiscuity as values, will make them more vulnerable to male sexual aggression, and that they will be despised for not liking it. They are not wrong.â
Right Wing Women, Andrea Dworkin
