Missed Masque | Solo
Another cough as he shot forward in his bed. The force of it shook his entire body, his lungs burning as he gasped for breath. As his head sank back into the pillow, a heavy groan escaped his lips. The sound of it alone could have convinced any priest that death itself had come for his soul. One of his assistants came scurrying into the room with a bowl of water and a small cloth. She began wiping the sweat forming at his brow.
"Thank you, Lyria." He managed to say as he suppressed a cough in his hand. "Remind me to give you a bonus or some chocolate or something."
Drake glared at the ceiling intensely, praying to whatever goddesses for some kind of relief. Lyria applied the wet cloth to his forehead. At least the cold water helped with his pounding headache. As he lay in bed, he wondered how the masquerade was going. He wondered if his sweets were popular. He'd been in such a rush to prepare them for the event, he'd neglected his personal health. And it was working so well for him. He cursed and closed his eyes.
"Wake me if the shop catches fire."

Ha, impolite indeed! But it's no matter to me. I'm a simple man with simpler interests. I am Drake, a baker by trade...but then I suppose you've heard of me. The Hall of Orphans you say? Quite the honorable calling.
Ah, the children like cakes? Ha, they must be good kids indeed. Just how many cakes would they need then?

Ah yes, hello! The children were wondering— could it be arranged for some cakes to be delivered? For the children, of course!
