Kristi Williams
@kristi_williams_black_history, a Black woman whose aunt survived the Tulsa Massacre, saw Oklahoma trying to silence Black history-and answered with action. She started "Black History Saturdays," free community classes to teach what the schools won't.
Now the room is full, the lessons are real, and the legacy lives on. end caption

This is a heroic feat that shouldn’t be needed. But because it is, a hero emerged.

Tony has been told his whole life that he’s selfish, narcissistic, not the type of person to lay down on the wire to let another person cross, not worthy of being a hero, nothing without his suit, overall a ‘bad person’. I think it would mean the world if someone he thought highly of (Peter) (the epitome of pure intentions, integrity, and love) was certain he was good too.
I wouldn’t think Tony’s usually told that he’s good. I think he would know it partly, because he’s not an idiot; he KNOWS he’s done good, but he would think he has done just as much bad. Realistically, I think a sentence with the words ‘you’ and ‘a good person’ is something he needs to hear.

Tony and Howard having that one conversation that goes “i hope you get cursed with having a child just like you so you can see how much I struggled”
And then Peter turns to be JUST LIKE HIM, in all the best ways, he is just a mini version of Tony. And Tony's like "wow,,, he lied!" because Peter is the easiest person to love.

Tony Stark and Peter Parker both mourned each other longer than they knew each other and that fact makes me so sick

some people throw around struggles that don’t even belong to them, and it’s honestly so disheartening to see.
i have a queer friend who’s closeted—not because he’s in denial, but because he knows his family would never accept him. they are extremely religious. his dad has openly showed homophobia. he moves through life constantly filtering himself. quieting his voice, watching how he speaks, how he moves. every day is calculated. because for him, safety means silence. because the risk of being outed could ruin everything.
and then i open my phone and see people online saying shit like “i feel betrayed” because some actress kissed her boyfriend during pride month. like… do you hear yourselves? like that somehow erases every bit of effort and presence and advocacy she’s shown. like queerness only matters when it performs the way they want it to. it’s exhausting.
and the worst part is, this same mindset spills over into fandom. suddenly everything is “queerbaiting” if two characters aren’t canon. it’s “erasure” if a ship doesn’t match someone’s headcanon. it’s like people are using queerness as a card to play when they’re losing a tumblr argument. as if this stuff is theoretical. it’s not.
what my friend—what so many others—go through isn’t something you use as discourse ammo. it’s not something you wrap yourself in when it’s convenient. it’s real. and it’s painful. and it doesn’t come with the luxury of logging out.
i may come off as overreacting but that’s because i see the weight he carries just to stay safe. i see the way he disappears into himself just to get through the day. and then i come online and see people use that same struggle like a badge they didn’t earn, like a weapon to shame others, not protect. and i get it. identity matters. representation matters. but when you twist those things into tools to perform superiority, instead of showing empathy—then you’re not helping at all.
some people don’t get to choose when queerness is convenient. for some, it’s something they have to bury just to survive. and i wish more people understood that.

Yes, this is EXACTLY what you voted for.
You voted for a clown sleep farting through his court case. A convicted felon and lifelong rapist. The swamp incarnate. A narcissist and fraud willing to do anything to enrich himself.
Voting for Harris/Walz was clearly better considering your kids' student debt and husband's job situation.
You picked the unserious choice. You lost.
