When he looked at Madelyne, all Alex could feel was pity for her. She hadn’t asked to be a clone of Jean Grey, manipulated and used by Mister Sinister and yet she had tried to do something similar to Alex. “I don’t care,” Alex shrugged. “Honestly Maddie, if this is what it’ll turn me to then I’m good.” He gestured to her as he spoke. He couldn’t imagine being so twisted but Madelyne seemed to enjoy it. “Then go right ahead,” Alex said as he held up his hands in surrender. “Go head and control my mind. It’s the only way you’ll get anything Maddie but its not real.”

Maddie couldn’t help herself but to delve into Alex’s mind and when she did anger overcome her. She sent a searing pain through his head, as a punishment of sorts for pitying her. She was not something to be pitied and when she regained her past powers, she could be unstoppable. “Your mind is too broken Alex,” She laughed. “You always feel so alone, so unworthy that you have to move away at a seconds notice?” The Summers family were the most dysfunctional she had ever seen, thank god she was no longer apart of it, Maddie only felt sorry that her son was burdened with such a life. “Is Scott so powerful that you can’t even stick it out in a school?”

Nodding his head, Peter agreed. People who had power mostly tried to use it for their own gain and when it affected people and crime was involved, that’s when he tried to stop it. “That’s true but thankfully the Bugle is harmless and no one really believes it except the guy who runs it.” He didn’t feel bad about her throwing away the Bugle. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve taken other pictures of him so it’s fine.”

Nothing in this world was harmless and Maddie had learned that the hard way. She thought her own existence was harmless until Sinister shattered that illusion.  “Nothing in the press has ever been harmless if you believe otherwise then you may be as much as a fool as its editor.” Thankfully he had never reported on the hellfire club, if he did than Mr. Jameson wouldn’t be around to publish a single thing. “If you don’t agree with what’s written, why stay there?”

“Well, it’s been so long and it grew on me…” Bobby shrugged. “Well that’s not very original either is it? I mean there’s already a white queen and all.” Bobby raised his eyebrows at her words. “Wait, wait wait… Mrs. Scott Summers… As in… Cyclops? You… You married Scott Summers…. Oh boy…. Well Scotty boy does seem to have a type.”

She couldn’t help but laugh. The X-Men were truly in their own world but that suited Madelyne just fine. “Oh darling the White and Red Queen are more than just names, they’re ranks of sorts.”  It was traditional of the hellfire club and what could she say, Madelyne wore the Red Queen well. “Telepaths and redheads really are,” She smirked, “Though it really was a lifetime ago.”

It had been an early start in work for Peter but by his own choice. He’d wanted to get into the lab early and run tests on the prototype he’d been working on. Hours later, he managed to finish work and was walking through the street when he saw someone with the latest Daily Bugle. Of course, there was a headline that bashed his alter-ego with a picture he took. “You know, he’s not like that at all. I took the picture and they just make stuff up about him.”

New York was always busy, filled with people running about and their minds racing from one thought to the next... Madelyne loved the chaos of the street. “People in power always dictate the views of others,” Madelyne threw the paper in the trash. The X-Men had written the views of hers but left out how their fearless leader was the catalyst to everything Sinister within her. “I’m sorry, it was a good picture.”

“And who are you?” Gabriel asked the woman, she looked similar to a woman he couldn’t quite place at the moment, but he knew for sure that she was definitely up to no good. He looked at her with a sigh, because it still tugged hard at him that he was considered the ‘forgotten Summers’ when there were many summers that couldn’t touch him in a battle. He looked around and then back to her, not taking the shield off of his son. “And what interest do you have with him.” He was definitely going to throw up a fight if he had too - and with his new elemental powers he wasn’t sure just what would happen.

A smirk came across her face, she never understood the fascination Sinister had with the Summer’s but she wasn’t one to judge him. “Didn’t Scott ever tell you?” She laughed. “He wasn’t always the hero you know, I was his wife and he left me and his newborn son but he always leaves that out.” At first, when Scott left her and Nathan it crippled Madelyne and drove her to find out the truth of how she came to be. Even her existence was for the Summers bloodline. “Me? I’ve got no interest in my son’s cousin but I know someone who might.”

The heat didn’t bother him at all. Mainly because he was made of fire and heat. He was practical as hot as the sun, so this little heatwave was a walk in the park. Though for others he could tell it was more difficult. A lot of them have dwindled their clothing to nothing but tank tops and shorts and for that Johnny definitely isn’t complaining. 

A bunch of sexy people walking around half naked? Johnny was in heaven. He was content sitting at the poolside in the backyard of the X-Mansion watching everyone walk in and out, bustling around with their normal day. He honestly missed the days where he could waste the day away spending money, between saving the world of course. But now with everything that’s happened, the economy has to build back up and whoopie! for that.

Not! He has an itch to buy a car. Just cause and he can’t even scratch it.

His inner monologue gets  cut off when the sun disappears and he looks up to a person blocking his view. “Uhm, do you mind?”

The heat was a stark comparison to the blistering cold of Genosha but Maddie was relieved to be wearing something other than her winter coat. She watched the people come and go through the mansion, listening in on their thoughts looking for minds that could be useful in Genosha and not wasted away here. Her mind caught another, not a mutant but something else entirely and right away she was fascinated.  “Hi” She smiled to the flamed boy. She could see his desires of what seemed to be to return to normal but Madelyne embraced the chaos and she revelled in the destruction.  “I don’t actually but now you’re free perhaps we can discuss something more interesting than the economy you’re worried about?”

Monica had decided to spend some time volunteering at the hospital. Ever since the heatwave started more people had been ending up there more. She knew that they would need help so she decided to do what she could. At the moment she shift was ending so she started to leave.

Maddie had no experience in the medical profession unlike her original but still, help was needed and what better way to see the weak points of society then its underfunded healthcare? The hospital was buzzing with nurses running to and from patients, doctors giving endless consultations and their thoughts were fascinating. “You’re leaving already?” She asked a girl she’d never seen before. “I think the fun is about to start.” Just like that a patient went into defib and suddenly it was chaos, Madelyne thrived in chaos.

The school was already crazy enough as it was. The kids were getting more and more antsy that class time was getting closer and a lot of them were during late minute dumb things to get it out of their system. Already, in the span of two hours, Scott has had to stop four kids from testing their power of flight on the rooftop, five from trying to instantly combust into flames and three of them from trying to dye each other hair yellow. The last thing he needed was his ex-wife to come strolling through the doors, but alas his life doesn’t always go as planned. “Well, Madelyn, I didn’t prepare a warm welcome because I didn’t know you would be coming.”

When students stopped her, mistaking Madelyne for Jean, she smiled as sweet as she could agreed to anything they wanted. At one point, she encouraged a bunch of kids to practice their mutation without supervision. It was about time things were shaken up in the school. “That’s not very husband-like is it?” She teased musically. The x-men was a thorn in her and Sinister’s side and still, they were relentless. “I’ve come to discuss Nathan. I want him with me, in Genosha. There’s no use him being here to be lost amongst the students. He needs a parent and he can thrive within the brotherhood.”

Alex didn’t move when Madelyne’s fingers touched his face. The hardest part about seeing her like this, so cruel and calculating, was that it wasn’t the Madelyne he had met. The Maddie he knew wasn’t afraid of anything before she even got powers she was willing to fight for the school. Now, she wasn’t the same person he knew. “You want to make me your goblin prince right?” Alex scoffed. “No offence but I’ve seen it. Nathan’s shown me as well as you, I can’t pull off the beard.” Even when he was younger and first adopted, Alex had tried to fit into the mould of his new family, of the son they wanted him to be but he couldn’t do it. He wasn’t going to do the same with Maddie. “Just stop. Whatever you want it’s not going to happen.”

She could feel his mind and it was rife with pain and loss... she could work with that. Contrary to his belief she had no interest in Alex as a paramour, he made one hell of a Goblin Prince and if he was the key to getting that power back, Madelyne could use him as best as she could. “Right now you aren’t worthy of it,” She laughed, trying to examine his mind more. Her heart sunk when he brought up Nathan, she still hadn’t seen him properly yet but she was devastated that her son was siding with the X-Men. Madelyne couldn’t imagine Nathan as one, the image of his father willing to sacrifice everything for the good of a school that would push him out. “Are you sure about that?” Madelyne scoffed. “I’ve always been good at getting what I want Alex, you know that.”

It suddenly felt crowded in his head, like the Winter Soldier was about to manifest right then and there. A headache lingered for a moment and he swallowed hard, it’s not the time to switch… “Th.. They are clearly compensating for something. Possibly how fragile their secrets are” why would SHIELD try to hide their, especially after the great fall with Adrien Pierce.. He glanced around for a moment and shook his head. “In here nothing, it’s your typical superhero training happening. It gets crowded at the gym from time to time, I cannot exactly hang around the bar but I do spend most of my time in the shooting range” he answered, might as well go along with it until she says what she wanted from him.

It was all too tempting to delve into the mind of Sergent Barnes, it had been corrupted and messed with so many times it was almost surprising he was still sane. “Oh the avengers have never been good at secrets,” She smirked, still trying to rifle through his mind. “HYDRA on the other hand... well that’s a different story.” It was easier to go rooting in his mind if she kept him talking and Maddie didn’t care for the secrets of SHIELD. She was close but suddenly she lost whatever temporary grip she had on her mind and she let her facade slip for a second. “Show me the shooting range,” She asked but her tone gave more of a demand.

“I’m sure you did and I’m sure that if you really felt threatened you would have handled it by now.” A smile pulls on the edge of Erik’s lips. Their head would have been sitting on his desk right now. “Wanda is my daughter Maddie, of course she’s classified among us.” Erik didn’t trust the Avengers as far as he could throw them. And he could throw them pretty far. He knows the moment Wanda truly steps into her mutation they wouldn’t blink an eye and try to throw her under the bus. They’re human after all. “We do, but Genosha is my home and I’m not going to let anything stand in the way of that, or cause me to lose it in any way. No matter the history I have with anyone.” 

A wicked smile spread across Madelyne’s face. Back when she was the goblin queen she had more power than she could ever imagine, before all of that she was just a clone. Granted, she didn’t know it but because of Jean Grey she was able to develop her own mutation and she loved her mind games. “I class her among us but she was an avenger first, they haven’t been mutant friendly in the past.” The Scarlet Witch had her own issues as did Polaris, for one they preferred their human names. Madelyne wasn’t too sure where their loyalties were and she couldn’t trust them.  “It’s my home now as well, I’ll kill anyone who puts that at risk.”

Immediately Emma is on high alert. There aren’t too many people who knows about her and she doesn’t know about them in return. If she wasn’t already sick of the mumbling that infiltrated her mind earlier, she would have slipped into the conscious of the woman before her, but her voice quota was filled for the day. 

The blonde raises her eyebrow at the use of her secondary title, something she hasn’t laid claim to in awhile. “You are correct I am Emma Frost and just who you might be?” She crosses her arms against her chest. The walls around her mind being held tighter. “If you had the headache I’m experiencing, you’d understand.”

It was all too delicious to delve into the mind of another telepath, and one that was as known as Emma Frost was just the icing on the cake. No matter how hard she tried, Emma Frost couldn’t shed her reputation or The White Queen.  “Madelyne Pryor, Goblin queen or the Red queen, it depends on who you ask.” She hadn’t been the Goblin Queen in such a long time and she missed its power.  “When I first developed my power yes,” It was hard for Madelyne to even try and hide any smugness in her tone of voice. “I thought you of all people would be past that by now.”

One second Alex’s dream had him enjoying the Australian sun on his old porch and in the next breath he was back in his old apartment with Madelyne. He didn’t have time to react to her kiss or the way she pushed herself against him. It was like he was in a daze, stuck in his dream. ‘Maddie…’ he whispered in a gasp, breaking the kiss when he saw her devilish smirk. He pushed Madelyne away with the thoughts of the Goblin Prince she had turned another version of him into. “Is this your plan?” He shouted as he put as much distance between himself and Madelyne as he possibly could. “You really think you can get into my mind for what purpose? If you want Scott then this isn’t the way to go about it!” He hated telepaths and he hated the way he was always so weak against them.

There was always a rage within Alex, he just didn't show it as much as he could. It was a shame because Madelyne could only the power he could have if he just loosened up a little. Sinister picked the wrong Summers to focus on. Gabriel was lost in space so he settled for Scott, why she didn't know after seeing Alex's own powers. "Oh, sweetheart you have no idea the plans I have for you." Her fingers traced the outline of his jaw. Seduction wasn't going to work but her own powers sure as hell could. "Jean can have your brother, he's lost his use but you... I'm only just getting started with you."

To the Avengers compound? I wouldn’t put it down as one of the 7 wonders to be honest.” however he humored her with a kind smile. “The secret is cryostasis, but I would not recommend it.”

She tapped into his mind and it was rife with tension. Madelyne loved these minds, the ones that were fragile but had so much to tell her... James Barnes did not disappoint. “Oh the building is mundane at best, overcompensating comes to mind,” Madelyne gestured around at the grey walls. Such a dull color for a building full of earth’s mightiest heroes.  “I’m sure there are other ways.” She mused. “So, what would you recommend for fun around here?”

Gabriel was heading out of the grocery store. Heading home so that he could make dinner for Eddie and Venom - and a bottle for Vincent. He found his traverse and smiled, opening up the trunk to load in the groceries. “Hey, papa’s baby.” He stated softly towards his son, but once he saw his son’s eyes start to glow red - he quickly turned around and a shield covered behind him, making a screen over the back of the chevrolet travere’s trunk to shield VJ. “Can I help you?” He looked at a redheaded woman - sensing the energies of his brother’s on her, but he didn’t trust that enough to let his guard down.

A third Summers’ brother was not anything Madelyne had planned neither was the son of the forgotten brother. She was curious though, she had watched how powerful Nathan was and of course, his half-siblings had an immense power Madelyne couldn’t deny. Sinister would want to know about this baby, his obsession with the bloodline was insufferable at times. “Me?” She asked feigning innocence. “I just had to meet the Summers that the world forgot.” The brother Xavier had kept hidden was one story she couldn’t resist. “You all have interesting offspring,” She thought out loud deliberately.
