hey i just wanted to give an update on where i’ve been i am dealing with some serious health issues right now that are kinda fucking my life up right now. i am not able to write consistently & not able to manage several blogs.

kaine   legally   does   not   exist.   he   has   no   birth   cert,   no   ID,   nothing   that   would   actually   let   the   government   know   he   is   in   fact   a   thing.   this   is   mostly   due   to   the   fact   that   kaine   wasn’t   born   naturally   being   a   clone   of   peter   parker.   the   jackal   being   his   creator   honestly   did   not   care   about   these   things.   kaine   was   never   intended   to   be   his   own   free   thinking   person.   he   was   suppose   to   be   a   weapon,   one   stronger   than   spider-man   &   someone   who   could   take   peter   down   one   &   for   all.   needless   to   say   that   plan   did   not   work   thankfully.   however   it   does   leave   kaine   with   the   short   end   of   the   stick.   

kaine   typically   does   not   have   a   permeant   residence.   excpecially   towards   the   beginning   of   his   life   free   of   his   creator   &   directly   post   tarantula   incident.   typically   he   makes   use   of   abandoned   buildings,   webbing   them   up   for   security   &   shelter.   he   will   sometimes   stay   at   local   warming   shelters   /   homeless   shelters   or   make   use   of   community   centers   for   showers   /   food   /   other   basic   needs.   he   often   frequents   soup   kitchens   &   if   he   is   in   some   place   at   least   semi   secure   or   maybe   some   place   semi   -   permeant   he   will   also   make   use   of   local   food   banks   to   bring   home   what   he   can.   

needless   to   say   finding   work   isn’t   the   easiest   for   kaine.   any   work   he   does   is   under   the   table   &   paid   in   cash.   kaine   typically   doesn’t   start   picking   up   jobs   until   after   the   tarantula   incident.   it   doesn’t   come   from   any   desire   to   help   himself,   but   rather   there   were   a   few   incidences   while   fighting   where   he   was   unable   to   produce   webbing   due   to   his   lack   of   nutrition.   kaine   may   say   otherwise,   but   he   genuinely   cares   about   what   happens   to   other   people.   which   is   ultimately   what   motivates   him   to   at   least   find   some   type   of   stable   living   situation.   

kaine   will   however   100%   take   cash   off   of   criminals.   i   don’t   just   mean   every   day   criminals   but   if   he   stops   a   major   deal   /   is   fighting   any   time   of   organized   crime   &   there   is   cash   out   he   will   take   it   &   not   give   a   shit   about   it.

𝐓𝐇𝐄   𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐀   𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓   :

this   is   another   thing   i   wanted   to   address   upfront   as   it   is   something   i   will   be   frequently   referring   to   in   both   kaine’s   bio,   meta,   &   threads.   please   keep   in   mind   i   have   simplified   this   incident   &   it   does   deviate   from   comic   canon.   i’ve   done   this   mostly   to   make   this   less   chaotic   &   easier   to   insert   into   a   general   verse   as   once   again   kaine’s   history   is   kinda   all   over   the   place.   

kaine’s   creator,   the   jackal   got   his   hands   on   kaine   once   more   in   an   attempt   to   finally   be   able   to   control   his   creation.   in   doing   this,   he   also   sought   to   solve   the   issue   of   kaine’s   cellular   degeneration   &   began   to   experiment   on   kaine.   the   cure   to   his   cellular   degeneration   was   found,   but   not   without   a   cost.   kaine   was   mutated   into   something   more   spider   than   man,   something   that   the   jackal   could   finally   control.   

now   named   tarantula   kaine   was   released   on   ny   city   with   the   intent   of   taking   down   spider-man.   i   cannot   state   this   clear   enough   :   kaine   was   not   aware   of   what   he   was   doing.   he   was   all   wild   instincts   &   barely   remembers   anything   from   that   period   of   time.   he   has   seen   the   news   footage,   he’s   seen   the   death   reports,   he   knows   what   he   did   however   he   remembers   almost   nothing   of   it   aside   from   brief   strong   emotions   /   sensations   or   blurry   images.   

kaine   was   thankfully   taken   down   alive   &   the   slow   process   of   curing   him   began.   it   took   months   but   he   was   finally   ‘   cured   ‘.   while   he   no   longer   suffers   from   cellular   degeneration   there   are   lasting   effects   from   his   time   as   tarantula   particularly   mentally.

𝐇𝐄   𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒   𝐓𝐎   𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏   that   spiders   don’t   really   smell,   sleep   still   clinging   stubbornly   to   his   mind.   however,   it   is   the   sudden   harsh   realization   that   someone   is   talking   to   him   that   has   him   immediately   shooting   upright.   his   only   saving   grace   is   that   he   fell   asleep   with   the   suit   on.   for   once   he’s   hoping   he’ll   be   mistaken   for   spider-man.   

he   remains   crouched   upon   the   webbing,   fingers   hooked   into   the   silk.   his   gaze   never   leaves   the   intruders   form,   muscles   tensed   in   preperation   of   a   possible   fight.

the   abandoned   building   had   proven   to   be   a   useful   &   relatively   safe   temporary   shelter.   his   webbing   high   within   it’s   rafters   in   hopes   of   avoiding   any   curious   citizens.

𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐘   𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐄   𝐓𝐎   𝐊𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄'𝐒   𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒   &   𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒   :

i   wanted   to   put   all   of   this   in   one   place   as   i   know   some   of   kaine’s   abilities   are   not   the   norm   when   it   comes   to   current   spider-men   lore.   again   please   note   i   am   aware   that   not   all   of   the   things   listed   below   will   match   where   kaine   is   as   far   as   comic   canon.   this   is   simply   how   i   view   his   powers   &   abilities.   

𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍   𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇   :   in   the   beginning   his   strength   was   originally   on   par   with   peter   parker’s   however   over   time   this   ability   has   grown   stronger.   he   is   able   to   lift   roughly   up   to   60   tons.   

𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍   𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐃   :   while   kaine   does   have   enhanced   speed   associated   with   spider-man   &   other   spider-fam   members   he   is   slower   than   peter   parker.   kaine   is   more   bulky   /   has   a   larger   build   than   peter’s   typically   more   acrobatic   form.   while   he   doesn’t   move   as   fast   as   spider-man,   he   is   still   significantly   faster   than   an   average   human.   

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀   /   𝐃𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘   /   𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆   𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑   :   much   like   his   speed   &   strength   his   stamina   has   also   been   enhanced.   kaine   is   more   durable   than   the   average   human   &   is   able   to   take   hits   that   would   normally   incapacitate   the   average   human.   in   addition   to   this,   as   with   many   of   the   other   spider-fam   members   kaine   does   heal   faster   than   the   average   human   but   it   is   nothing   in   comparison   to   wolverine   or   deadpool.

𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘   &   𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐄𝐒   :      are   also   enhanced.   as   i   said   above,   kaine   does   have   a   larger   &   less   acrobatic   frame   which   does   impact   his   agility   however   it   is   still   above   the   average   human.   

𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐋-𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆   :   like   spider-man,   kaine   is   capable   of   sticking   to   nearly   any   surface   &   crawling   across   it.   this   coupled   with   kaine’s   enhanced   strength   also   can   allow   him   to   rip   entire   walls   /   other   surfaces   down   with   just   the   use   of   his   hands.   

𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐂   𝐖𝐄𝐁𝐁𝐈𝐍𝐆   :   yes   you   read   that   right   kaine   produces   his   own   organic   webbing.   it   is   not   artificially   created,   he   does   not   use   web   shooters   but   does   in   fact   have   glands   on   his   wrists   that   produce   organic   silk   that   is   limited   by   his   body’s   health   &   nutrition.   

𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆   𝐓𝐎   𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒   :   it   is   less   talking   &   more   so   empathetic   /   sympathetic   ability   to   communicate   with   them.   

𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒   :   kaine   possesses   venomous   bone   like   stingers   that   can   extend   from   his   forearms.   this   coupled   with   the   glands   used   to   produce   his   organic   silk   are   the   main   reasons   he   rarely   lets   anyone   see   his   bare   arms.   

𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒   𝐇𝐄   𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒   𝐍𝐎𝐓   𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄   :   

spider-sense.   kaine   relies   heavily   on   his   reflexes   to   keep   him   out   of   danger   as   he   doesn’t   posses   spider-man’s   iconic   spider-sense.      

the   mark   of   kaine   :   i   personally   do   not   like   this   ability   that   kaine   had   in   the   comics.   i   am   aware   it’s   a   signature   mark   for   him   but   i   honestly   really   dislike   it   &   am   not   keeping   it   canon   to   my   portrayal.

𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋   𝐇𝐂   :   but   kaine   has   periods   where   he   doesn’t   have   a   place   to   live   &   10/10   will   just   web   up   an   area   to   stay   in.   he   doesn’t   talk   about   it   with   anyone   really   &   would   probably   absolutely   panic   if   someone   found   out   but   it   is   very   much   a   thing.   he   also   very   much   hates   it.
