Palpatine should be blamed a lot more for everything that happens in the prequels than he is.

He put the galaxy into absolute chaos, just so he could climb up the ladder of leadership. He set up the creation of the clones and the chips which would later turn them fully into his little puppets. He knowingly put people like Tarkin, who he knew would advocate against the Jedi, in high positions. He drafted the Jedi into his war with the backing of the senate, knowing the effect it would have on them and the end they would face. He makes sure to isolate Anakin as much as possible by feeding into his ego and desires and calling Anakin towards him, so that he feels Palpatine cares and that he needs to be loyal to him in a way. He uses the temple bombing and then later the found evidence to put pressure on the Jedi with the help of Tarkin (if I am correct) and to speed up the process of giving Ahsoka up to the Republic court, knowing that this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of Ahsoka.

And there’s probably so much more he does, some maybe from even further shadows just to stir the galaxy into absolute chaos wherever you look and yet into a perfect path to the top for him and to aid Anakin in his downfall, (not to say that Anakin doesn’t take the majority of the blame), and yet all I keep seeing is how the Jedi messed up and are to blame.

As if anybody could have seen who Palpatine truly was and what he was up to, given that that’s simply not the story GL wanted to tell.

Palpatine creates mess after mess on every level imaginable, uses whatever messy situation befalls the galaxy naturally and makes it worse, puts the Jedi on the spot by pressuring them into a certain direction or into making faster decisions while completely drained because of the war and backs them into corners while acting all innocent and being backed up by the republic/senate. You know, the very people the Jedi are supposed to serve (as the storyline wants it) given that the republic has always been a well working democracy, before Palpatine showed up.

Palpatine is the villain, he is to blame. Anakin falls to the dark side and becomes a villain as well, he is to blame for his own actions.

The Jedi did their very best, but the story simply didn’t want them to survive by no fault of their own. The story needed the light snuffed out and darkness to rise through corruption and greed of the people within the galaxy.
