her character is absolutely a fascist cop who falls for the pseudo logic of it. you, however, are not as evidenced by your post.

i have been arrested three times for peaceful protest (90 hrs in jail total—v fortunate & thank you national lawyers guild), been brutalized during those arrests (thanks to the photographer who started screaming that i couldn’t breathe as one cop held my legs, another kneeled on my spine, & another kneeled on my neck—i was 5’2” & 118 lbs—it got enough attention that the cops eased up. then i watched cops open his camera & expose all his film), deescalated cops from a meaningless arrests, & am the first to say ACAB.

but i love caitlyn’s character. her choices & behavior infuriated me, but i empathize with the lack of logic in grief as well as vi for loving someone who is seemingly lost to grief & anger. i am an anticapitalist cop-hating leftist, & i have a love for rich serious/mean girls—Caitlyn, Beatrice, Lena, Asami… i admittedly have a type. but i also love Kuvira & Lin as characters & that is a literal fascist & police of chief.

you are not actualizing fascism in exploring this character. you are not blindly in love with this character without acknowledging that many of her choices & actions are based in fear & anger & fall into the trappings of fascist narratives.

ignore the hate that reduces your feelings toward a show to being a fascist & casts you as a bad person for exploring the nuances of a character.

tldr: me @ my friends constantly “WHY ARE THE FASCISTS HOT???” & one of my friends recently “bc you have a weird humble type of god complex & wanna revolutionize her & heal with her 🙄”

Should I hate myself for liking Caitlyn's character?

I'm dead serious when I ask this, because the amount of times I've been labeled a "facist" or "genocide supporter" for saying her story in S2 was well done has wore me down to the point where I'm ranting on reddit/Tumblr. So I ask, should I hate myself for considering Caitlyn to be a well written character, should I be considered a facist appologist or classist or class/race traitor for saying her and Vi's relationship was well done, should I be considered a Copagandist. Because at this point, when tweets calling Caitlyn a child gassing N*zi are getting 100k's of likes, I start to think I should hate myself at least a little for thinking she was well redeemed by the narrative.

i regularly feel like i don’t have a life & am a homebody—i like my Me Time—but i do not think there’s enough hours in a day most days.

i’ve been sick maybe twice since quarantine in 2020 & one of them was after i went out 7 nights in a row—saw a friend from MA for drinks, brunch with a friend from OR, department team dinner, team outting, KTown beers & fried chicken, korean steakhouse, housewarming party—i got home at 10pm at the earliest & 4am at the latest every night then went to work 😭

i’m too old to keep doing this…

anyway, i am seeing a friend’s art gallery tonight, then meeting someone for a drink, seeing the friend from MA tomorrow at a mutual friend’s bar, getting my haircut & greek lunch with one of da boyz (ie one of my guy friends) sunday, then a big week for work with after-work events, then a slumby with another one of da boys so we can drink these bourgogne blancs i love together, then waking up the next day to go with him & ANOTHER one of da boys to see The Sandlot together.
