4th of July Fashion
Need some inspiration for today's 4th of July BBQs? We found these Michael Kors Wedges (Style: Vivien) in the shop at ClosetGroupie.com (from user Abby Simmons) and thought they'd make the perfect shoe for your summer parties while the weather is sunny and warm.
Here are a couple of Independence Day-Inspired ways you can wear these shoes to backyard BBQs and patio parties all summer long. Bright red, paired with white and navy stripes create a classic look. Just add stars for a festive and patriotic ensemble!
Thanks to new Closet Groupie, Megan Stanley for her stylish ideas, and happy 4th of July to you and yours!

Megan is a twenty-something living in Portland, OR, where she spends most of her time trying to figure out how to "dress appropriately for the weather" when it can be cold and raining one minute and sunny and warm the next. (Hint: layers.) She loves bright colors and flowy clothing, and believes that being fashionable doesn't mean you can't be comfortable. She is also a firm believer in the power of fun jewelry, comfortable shoes, and a good tailor.

Trend Watch: Purple
Purple is popping up left and right on red carpets and at award shows on celebrities like Nicole Scherzinger, Diane Kruger, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Chloe Sevingny (see photos from ShinyStyle below.
It's also a perfectly vibrant summer shade for poolside parties, like this bright purple blouse we spotted this week on Chictopia:

Want in on this trend? We combed through the items currently in the shop at ClosetGroupie.com to find purple women's, kids' and babies' clothes and shoes, just in time for the summer season.
We created a Pinterest board for all of these pieces and each "pin" takes you straight to the product page for that item. Go ahead, start shopping!

How to Wear: Naughty Monkey Ankle Boots
Welcome to "How to Wear," a new feature on the ClosetGroupie blog where we'll take an great item currently available in our shop and show you how to wear/style/love it.

This week's HTW is brought to you by our new social media manager, Doniree Walker.
Doniree lives in Portland, OR, and describes her personal style as "casually loud." While her closet is made up of simple basics, her love of bright (read: neon) accessories (and hair colors) can be as playful and vibrant as she is. In Portland, she pretty much blends in with the other hipster-ish weirdos (their words, not hers), but when she visits her Midwest homeland she sticks out like a sore thumb. She's not mad about that.
This week, here's Doniree's ClosestGroupie pick and how she'd style it.
ClosetGroupie user KristinMarie recently uploaded this great pair of ankle boots from Naughty Monkey. Details:
Shoes: Ankle Boots by Naughty Monkey (style: criminal) Suggested Retail: $100+ ClosetGroupie Price: $65.00 Condition: Never worn! Size: 7.5
I LOVE these shoes and decided to style them with skinny jeans, a simple t-shirt, and bold accessories.
What about you? How would you wear shoes like these?

Living Goldie: It's a fashionable life

Meet Sarah! Sarah is the 22 year old fashionista behind the blog Living Goldie. She's from Texas which might help to explain why her style is HOT. We had the chance to ask Sarah a few questions about style, trends, and of course her closet. Check out her blog for inspiration and then go raid her stylish closet!
CG: Who is your style inspiration?
LG: I think my style inspirations change constantly, but one that has always stuck with me is the Olsen sisters. I like that they wear what they want, no matter what trend is in. They dress for themselves and interpret style in their own way. I try to do the same with my style!
CG: What trends will you be filling your closet with this spring and summer?
LG: Definitely lots of color and bold floral prints! I've also been shopping for more sporty, minimalist items- like the really cool effortless way fashion editors dress. My silly shopping motto is: WWTTHW Translation: What Would Taylor Tomasi Hill Wear?
CG: What is the one thing in your closet that you could never live without?
LG: I recently splurged on a new Balenciaga city bag and have used it everyday since. I think it's the best investment. I can use it for work, school, and on a night out. I'm already saving up for my second one. They are addicting!

How shipping works
On Closet Groupie the seller chooses the price and method they would like to use for shipping. The price a seller charges for shipping significantly affects the probability of a sale. A recent study found that 93% of customers shopping online were more likely to buy if shipping were free.
In an effort to help keep shipping costs down for people that are purchasing more than one item from one closet we have created "If shipped with another item". Because you are bundling the shipment, we give you the opportunity to pass on your savings to your buyer.
When you upload an item for sale, you will be prompted to enter a shipping cost. This is the price that you need to charge to cover shipping costs for that one particular item. In the next input field you will see "If shipped with another item". This simply means, How much will you charge to ship this item if a user buys more than one item from your closet?

When a user adds more than one item from your closet to their shopping cart, it will show the "If shipped with another item" price instead of the original shipping cost next to each item.

If you would not like to offer a discount on shipping for multiple items, simply enter the same amount in both fields. If you would like to offer free shipping for multiple items, you can set the "If shipped with another item" field to 0.00.
We would love to hear from you about how you price shipping and about how you keep your shipping prices stylish!
Thanks & Good luck!
The Roadies

How Closet Groupie Works
Peek into your closet. How many clothes do you actually wear that are hanging in there? About 20%? Yep, that's the national average! Now for our mom friends out there, take a peek into your children's closets as well. All together that is a lot of money we've spent on clothes that we don't wear and clothes that our kids have already outgrown!
So here is our BIG IDEA. We want to turn your closet and your children's closets into a boutique. Partly so you can earn back some of the money you've spent on creating the most stylish closet in town, but mostly because we want to be able to shop in your fabulous closet.
Here is how you can turn your closet into a boutique:
1. Upload items to your virtual closet
It's easy and free. And yes, those 2nd, 3rd, and 4th additional pictures are free too. Enter a few details about those amazing clothes and accessories you are selling and name your price. As long as the item is in great condition you can sell it on Closet Groupie. People who love your style will follow your closet and become your Groupies. It's OK to let a little fashion fame go to your head. We don't judge.
2. Receive payment and ship items
Once someone purchases your item you will receive notification and payment from Closet Groupie. All you have to do is slip your items into a postal bag and mail them directly to the buyer. Do a little dance to celebrate the fact that you have more money in your wallet and that your stunning outfit is now jet-setting to a new destination.
3. Shop til' you drop
Because that is really How WE work! We are all in search of the next fabulous outfit and we know the best place to find it is in a great closet. The money you'll save by shopping in someone's closet is just the icing on the cake (Or the ruffles on the skirt we should say)! Don't forget to follow people whose style you love so you are always the first to know when they are selling their designer duds.
Are you ready to save and earn money so you can live a much more stylish life? Join now!

How checkout works
Once you add an item to your cart you have 15 minutes to check out. During that 15 minutes, no other shoppers will be able to purchase that item.
On Closet Groupie, you can buy from up to 5 closets at a time. If you have items from over 5 closets you have to repeat the check-out process for the next 5 closets.
We use PayPal to process payments. Don't worry, you can still purchase items with a credit card if you do not have a PayPal account. Your purchase will show up on your credit card statement as a charge from Closet Groupie.
Adding items to your favorites is a great way to look at potential outfits without a 15 minute timer. If you love something, don't wait too long to buy it though. It's not fun to watch one of your favorites go home with someone else!

Shop in Closets, Not in Stores
The idea for Closet Groupie began when I was in my friend Reina's Closet. Reina had worked for Monique Lhuillier, Gustavo Cadille, and several other luxury designers. Her closet reflected that. She hardly wore anything hanging in there and was ready to sell her designer duds. I started to think about how many women I knew that would love to have anything from her closet.
I began to think of my own closet. I considered shoes, not stocks, investments and still think there is no better high than finding the perfect dress. No wonder I have a closet full of awesome clothes and can't afford to go anywhere!
I'm not alone. That is why I know some of the best clothes in the world are hanging in your closets, not in stores. Closet Groupie is going to change the way we live by letting us shop in closets we love, and sell what's in our closets to people who love our style.
Closet Groupie allows everyone to save and earn money so we can all enjoy our stylish lives.
