Ministry Experience Scheme Participant (Intern)
Social Media: Facebook - Instagram - Youtube
For the academic year of 2019 - 2020, I was an intern at St Paul's Weston as part of the Church of England's Ministry Experience Scheme. I worked in the Worship and Creative department of the church growing my content creation and marketing skills as well as learning new ones such as worship production. I also received weekly Theology training as part of my year.
Worship:
During the first half of my year I was trained up on the sound system at St Paul's Weston so that I could help with the production of Sunday services. Commonly the sound rotation would include a five piece worship band and two leaders  When the first lockdown came along and churches where required to close by law this part of my role stopped.
Creative:
My primary role was to create and share content documenting what was going on within the church and the wider community. This was done in collaboration with my line manager and then over seen by the senior leadership team (SLT). The content created would be shared across the church’s social media accounts and shown as part of the weekly church services.
Pre COVID-19, I took a big lead on the weekly video news showcasing essential things going on or coming up within the church. For this I helped with script writing, location scouting/ set dressing, filming, editing and sharing on social media.
helped with the production and marketing of the weekly video news showcased essential things going on or coming up within the church. Alongside the video news, I helped to create and market content for upcoming events; prayer serries and sessional happenings. For important services and event's such as the building birthday, Carols by Candlelight and 1100 Lights I would photograph and take video snippets to create a record both for online publication but also the church archives.
During COVID-19, I have assisted with the editing and posting of weekly projects along with side upkeep of social media accounts. This has included, editing/posting weekly interviews and reflections for the churches social media as well as editing a lighthearted lockdown question series for our Sunday services. I also engage and respond to comments or privet messages the church gets across all of its social media platforms.
I found this year to be a big step up from when I volunteered as the SLT utilised having a full-time intern by requesting more social media content throughout the year. My co-workers helped push me out of my comfort zone in a safe environment to enable growth within the organisation and me. As a result, I have grown tremendously in both my content creation and marketing skills. Though also in my ability to able to work independently and as part of a team. I wish to carry on growing these skills within the marketing industry.

Kris's "Buing Buing!"
For the period of six years, I helped with the running of Kris's "Buing Buing!" a kpop fan page on Facebook with over 11,000 likes. When I first joined page back in 2014 as a mod, we only had 7,000 likes, but over time the following grow and I got moved up to co-admin status with my best friend. During the course of my time helping to run the page, I posted a verity of memes, music videos and news articles related to Korean pop music. One of my favourite moments on the page was reaching over 60,000 people with meme post.

Media & Marketing St Pauls Weston
Social media: Facebook - Instaram
I volunteered within the media and marketing department at St Paul's Weston for One to two days a week. Something I did for the period of eight months before becoming an intern for the organisation.
During this time, for the media side of things, I helped with the directing, filming and editing of the weekly video news that showcased essential things going on or coming up within the church. I also created occasional digital content for events and services such as Alpha, Summer Vibe and Easter. When it came to marketing, I would be in charge of posting the content I created online across our social media platforms as well as help respond/engage with comments or privet messages that we got. I also helped with the design of the church guide that used to come out three times a year. Doing all this helped me grow both in my creative and marketing skills but also in my faith. Something that led me wanting to explore what it would be like to work in a church on a more full-time base.

1100 Lights 2018
1100 lights is a celebration of light that happens on the last Saturday of October each year in Clarence park run by St Paul’s Weston. For the 2018 event, I was the official photographer. My brief was to capture the vision of the church in a way that I best saw fit. Being given creative freedom like this helped me grow in my photography as well as in my faith. The photos I took of the event were used across church social media and to promote the next 1100 lights event the following year.

carols by candles light 2017
Christmas is one of the most important times of the year for the Christian church, and I feel privileged to say that I was the official photographer for the St Pauls Weston Carols By Candlelight services. Working in a church that has poor lighting was a challenge, but I was able to grow in my skills by overcoming that to creating a set of photos that I am very proud of.

Ghosts short film
As part of my foundation degree, I worked on the short film Ghosts as behind the scenes content creator, social media marketer and graphic designer. We started pre-production for this back in November 2015 and where onset from the 22nd till 28th of February 2016. Over the course of the production, I created a series of videos that showed what the team got up behind the scenes. We posted these video on our crowdfunding page as well as our social media platforms as part of the film's campaign. For the social media marketing, I was one of the co-managers for our twitter account but also took the full lead on our youtube account. However, for the period of us being on set, I took the lead on our Facebook page as well to be able to create smooth cross-platform continuity between all the platforms we used. My role across these platforms was to create engagement around both the film and our crowdfunding campaign. All of which I felt was successful and helped me grow my skills in areas such as lead generation and social media optimization.
For the graphic design elements, I created the branding and promotional materials used throughout the production. This included things such as a logo for the film and advertisement posters used for recruiting actors. I also made sure that when other members of the team attended things concerning the film that they used the official branding were possible.

2nd Dirigo Film Festival
As part of my foundation degree in film, I helped run the 2nd Dirigo international short student film festival. The festival happened on the 28th of January 2016 at the Cube Microplex in Bristol but worked behind the scenes prior to that on the promotional materials and social media marketing.
For the promotional materials, I rebranded the materials used the year before to reflect better the themes that we wanted to convey as a festival. I stripped the design right back to create something simple that conveyed the meaning of Dirigo, which is Latin for I direct film. We used this branding across all of our social media accounts and print-based media.
In terms of social media marketing, I was the lead manager of the twitter account. My role started with persuading other students / recent graduates that this festival was the one they wanted to be apart of. Towards the end of the submission period, I started posting daily to create a sense of urgency which resulted in our overall submissions doubling. Once we closed submissions, my role changed to convincing people that this was the perfect film festival for them to spend an evening at. Both the production leading up to the grand night and the festival evening itself was considered a success.
