old people in the states will tell you the craziest things. My grandpa just told me about how when he was a kid his dad didn't want to get him a BB gun (for anyone who doesn't know that's basically a gun for situations in which you don't want to kill someone/something you just want to hurt it a little so it doesn't bother you anymore) because he was worried he'd get hurt so instead he bought him a real gun. I think the idea was that he'd be mire careful if it was the real deal or something. Well by the time he was in high-school all the boys in the neighborhood had guns of there own.
