“Of course you do.” Clove knew that bringing up Jackson would hurt Rose’s feelings, so she avoided it. But she couldn’t deny how irritating he’d been, even more so than Cato. Very dramatic and jealous. “You’re right though, surprisingly. Maybe I should just jab him in the eye with one of my signature knives, that would remind me of home too.” 

Training was all Clove had known, growing up. She wasn’t sure how to develop past that, she’d never had the freedom to try. Even the rebellion had been one continuous fight. “You’ve been spending too much time with that pack of puppies, all this positive motivational speaking. But fine. I’ll try something new and potentially non-violent.” 

“That’s gross. Even me from four years ago wouldn’t wish that on Glimmer, poor girl.”

“Oh, trust me, I know that headache well.” Rose smiled grimly in return, thinking of the mess her multitude of relationships had become. Similarly to Clove, she'd spared no time to actually figure them out. “And like... don’t be too hard on yourself, okay? The last few years have been fucked. The worst, for the most part. If you need something that’s normal, need something that’s from home, then that’s okay. Fuck anyone who says differently.” It felt empowering to be able to give someone in a similar position advice, as if Rose was talking to herself. And really, she was, thinking of the many nights she'd gone crawling back to Mason or Adrian. “Just.. don't forget we actually have the freedom now to try something different, too. Make a new home, and whatever else. That’s what everyone keeps telling me, anyway.” Rose paused, before reaching out a hand and pinching her arm. “I’ll try it if you do?”

She snorted at Clove’s next comment. “Oh please, let’s be honest, Marvel would be so into that. I think his dream threesome is Cato and Glim. Watch him jump up and down to babysit that boof head.”
