A little something for Project Cloverkit because protecting young artists is very important.

Once upon a time, in the very early years of my life, I was very passionate about fictional feral cats thriving in the wilds of who-knows-where under the guidance of StarClan. I was so passionate about these cats that I had my Grade Four photo taken while holding the fourth book (A Rising Storm). I never did that for Harry Potter, or any other book, because this series dominated my life above all others and it inspired me.

It inspired me to create a whole slew of art works based of these stories. Then I discovered roleplaying where I could come up with my very own warriors and boy did I. Oh my StarClan, I made Warriors OCs like there was no tomorrow. And they were all terrible and unnatural and I had no knowledge of anatomy; I didn’t even know what life drawing was! But I kept doing it and eventually I could draw a pretty decent cat,

The two pictures below the one of Cloverkit (who btw belongs to BoltDaShinyEevee on dA) are both drawn by me. One when I was in grade 9, the other when I was in grade 12. I used the latter in my game design portfolio. My professors let me into Sheridan College after I sent them a fanart of Stonefur protecting Featherpaw and Stormpaw from Darkstripe during Tigerstar’s reign of terror over RiverClan and ShadowClan.

So there you have it. It might be really dumb and unrealistic and ugly but everyone starts somewhere and if that place you’re starting from is a sparklecat then go right ahead. People will try to tear you down before you’ve even really got going but in a decade or so you can look back and laugh.

For anyone who wants to look back and laugh at me in particular, I never deleted my older dA account. Go knock yourselves out.

Official young artist defense squad member. I had unnaturally colored Warriors OCs when I was into the series. Make a character that makes you happy. :) Also, Cloverkit is adorable.

anyone who contributes to or runs a blog like “the worst warriors” should be ashamed of themselves, ESPECIALLY if they are artists themselves. i know that as a young artist, if my art was posted on a blog like “the worst warriors”, i would have been absolutely crushed. instead of making fun of younger people’s art, we should be encouraging them and giving them helpful critiques. by saying you “hate sparkle oc’s” you are saying that you hate it when children have fun. you wouldnt go up to a nine year old and point and laugh at their drawing in real life, so why do it online?

i cant emphasize it enough: instead of judging young artist’s work as good or bad, be kind to them. help them improve. dont be so pathetic that you would ruin a childs self esteem, potentially even ruin their artistic journey, just to get a few laughs.

BoltDaShinyEevee’s cute oc, Cloverkit! Also, don’t insult anybody’s art. You literally gain nothing by saying stuff like that. Let them create their own characters, let them have their fun. Making ocs and characters don’t need to be realistic, as long as they like what they made and they had fun while making them

So theirs this post going around about someone bashing on a kids oc, Cloverkit. Iv'e seen a lot of hate to young artists, because their not good enough for people, even though their just kids trying to have some fun in ms paint making their oc’s, but since the colors are not cannon and the art isn’t that great people have been really complaining about it. So i present you my gift to Project Cloverkit.

TEAM CLOVERKIT! People shouldn’t be mistreated for what they imagine, what they create. Cloverkit is a handsome baby who is actually wonderful to draw. His description is adorable. OCs who were created by younger or very creative users should receive just as much respect as any other art or OCs.
