You know it kinda just clicked in my head that when it comes to marriage that people don’t think the way women are pressured marrying young as forced marriage and that’s why people were confused on my posts about my posts about marriage in the southern us. They don’t see girls getting married at 16-18 because everyone around them told them the only way to have value is to be married to a man as forced, they just see it as a young kid making a bad choice.

I made a post about how all this forced marriage stuff specifically impacts young trans boys in the south, because being in online support groups I’ve met a lot of trans men who grew up in the south who got married and pregnant young (18-20) because they felt like they had to because they were told that’s what gave them worth. And when that post got reposted to Reddit someone accused me of lying and ‘reading too much porn’. They don’t think of these people who were clearly forced into thinking they had no other option but to marry a man and to live as a women as people who are victims, they think they are just dumb teens who made a mistake.

I’m now understanding why so many people don’t understand misogyny in the evangelical south.

I didn’t have a clear idea of what exactly Hindutva was, but this article was a really great resource for learning more about it. Not only that, but it links multiple articles and papers on the persecution religious minorities in India face, how Hindutva has reached its influence across North America, its effects on the South Asian population—both in India and across the diaspora—etc.

This is not like a fully completed thought but yk

So I've done my first aid + CPR a few times. And every single time I try and bring up scenarios for fat folks

Specifically like 'what if someone is too large for me to wrap my arms around then to do the heimleich'

And its incredibly rare I get a decent answer.

How absolutely insane is it that me, as a fat person, is asking how to have MY life saved or to save ANOTHER life, is an impossible feat if someone is fat.

Most of the time they tell me to 'just try anyways uwu'

There has got to be a better option.

It seems like the older I get, the more irrationally angry casual censorship makes me. And it isn't just the "unalive" "grape" alleged filter-dodging vernacular, but the way normal words will be peppered with asterisks, or screenshots will have words like "gay" "hell" "fuck" etc either partially or entirely blurred. Who is this helping? What is the purpose of it, except to reinforce shame and elevate a flimsy perception of purity and safety, however those things manifest. It's so tiresome and I'm sick of it.
