you couldn’t believe the situation you were in and just how you got here.

somehow, you went from joking around with doyoung to being dragged away by your boyfriend to the hall bathroom, him locking the door behind you.

doyoung had wanted to tell you of this new artist he found that he thought you might like as you two have similar taste in music. he was in the middle of handing you his other headphone, ready to press play on one of the singers songs. you had leaned in closer to him as to watch the music video he pulled up.

you two were pretty good friends. he was probably the one member of nct you were closest with, after taeyong of course.

taeyong knew you two were close. he knew you two were nothing more than just the simple word friends, but he simply couldn’t get that through his skull.

you frowned at taeyong as you saw his hands shake with anxiety. “why were you so close to him?”

you reached out to rub his arm, but he pulled away from you.

you sighed. “tae, he was just showing me a song.”

“looked like a little more than just “showing you a song”.” he lifted his hands and made finger quotations around the ending phrase.

“are you’re jealous? that’s cute.” you spoke, walking towards the door to leave, but taeyong blocked the exit.

“just, why?” he sighed. “why would you get so physically close to him? i’m your boyfriend!”

you rolled your eyes. “taeyong, i don’t think i should be punished for talking to my friend! he was simply showing me a song! that’s all!”

his eyes softened at your aggregated expression, looking down at the floor in slight embarrassment. he muttered an apology.

“what?” you motioned to your ears, signifying him needing to speak louder.

“i-i’m sorry,” he whispered. “okay? i’m sorry.”

you smiled, bringing his cold figure into a hug and tiptoeing to speak into his ear. “i won’t forget just how big of a douche you were, but i may just be able to find it within myself to forgive you.”

you could feel him smile into your shoulder.

basically, one day

jaemin really wasn’t feeling all too confident on a test everyone was gonna have in defense against the dark arts the following week

so he went to the class to beg his teacher to re-explain a concept to him that he couldn’t understand even after a fucking 20 min discussion abt it

his plan was to go during lunch and harass his teacher then

so, he set off during lunch and surprisingly found the door to be unlocked as normally he has to BEAT on the door to get his teacher to open it

and that’s where he found YOU

shaking wildly

with a fucking butterfly in front of you

and you struggling to cast the spell riddikulus

he BURST out laughing and caused his presence to be known

the teacher noticed him and placed the boggart back in the wardrobe and you were BRIGHT ASS RED

this super cute gryffindor just saw that you’re scared of BUTTERFLIES it was so embarrassing

and from that point on jaemin basically harassed you everytime he saw you

he called you “butterfly” and deadass won’t leave you alone and his friends and your friends always question you two about it and you choose NOT to say what happened

“jaemin??? butterfly???? wtf?????”

and eventually it kinda dies down but he still makes little faces at you when yall see each other in the hallways or in between classes

you kinda wanna like talk to him… but he just really intimidates you…. like hes so pretty and funny and sweet and that just scares the shit out of you

so… you decide to take a different route and kinda… ask the defense against the dark arts teacher for a tutor bc you’re f*iling and need a pick me up

maybe you request jaemin omo but you BEG him not to tell jaemin that bc you’re like INTO him into him and you don’t wanna be weird or seem weird lol hahah

so the professor called yall into his office to discus it w/ yall (jaemin got fucking SCARED bc he thought yall were abt to get expelled for the teasing and almost shat himself 👇🤪👇)

and when he explained the situation jaemin was secretly like really happy

and you knew the teasing would worsen but you didnt really regret your request bc jaemins cute and funny!!!1!

the next day yall met in the library and it was highkey awkward

like yall just avoided eye contact and kinda sat there but you decided to break the silence

“um,,,,” your sudden words made him shoot up to look at you “how are you uh,,,.. liking dada so far?”

and unbeknownst to you… a beast was unleashed

but you found it oddly endearing how his eyes frantically searched the room as to figure out how to make his thought coherent and how his smile shown through his words and ESPECIALLY how his hands flailed around as he spoke

it made you deadass uwu and giggle and you guys just talked for hours and hours

like yall didnt get shit done mood

and like jaemin was like HIGHKEY so cute and it made your heart beat at a million beats and it didnt help that yall kinda became inseparable after that took place

like you two were so compatible and alike that like being with other people was so….. weird

not to mention that all the time you spent with the boy helped you catch feelings like drake omo XD

he made your heart race and you couldnt just like all of sudden tell him so you push it to the back of your mind for now

until his friends lowkey start hinting that he likes you like at least jeno tries to be subtle… hyuck just blurts it out

“hey y/n! lovely morning we’re having! oh and btw, jaemin likes u! see you in potions!”

so now that his friends have been hinting at it, you start getting like..,,,, really flustered around him

like you constantly blush and are at a loss for words when he hugs you now

like UGH feelings suck

soon, christmas rolls around and you weren’t able to spend it with your relatives :( so you had to stay at hogwarts and kinda just hang around

but then!!! before all your friends left (a lot of jaemins friends were now your friends too lmao) hyuck deadass whispered in your ear

“jaemin is staying here during christmas too for certain reasons uwu have fun!!”

and then he ran away skxjsjc

the days leading up until christmas,

you spent a lot of your time studying but rarely any of it with jaemin :(

it kinda sucked bc you were having withdrawals from not seeing your bestest friend

however! you finally ran into him where he was for the past couple days you had no clue and he asked if you two could spend christmas together :(

obviously you agreed and thus you counted down the next couple days until christmas finally arrived

you two planned on eating breakfast together and then was when you would exchange gifts !!!!

nervous doesnt even begin to describe how you were feeling bitch ooOjdjd

you saw him already sitting at the gryffindor table with a big ass bag and when he waved at you??? with that big ass smile on his face????? oh my GOD!!!!!!!! butterflies!!!!!!!!!!!

you felt kinda self conscious since your gift bag was literally a fifth the size of his, but you carried on and sat at the empty space across from him

you guys ate and caught up on what had been going on (why he had been afk for fucking days)

and when that topic was finally brought up he let out a sigh and reached for the gift bag and took a woolly sweater out and handed you what remained

“now! open it!!”

and in there was a pastel yellow sweater with the word ‘yes’ knitted in black

uhhhh???? you were so confused???? what does yes mean????? and right when you looked up to ask, jaemin pulled on the other sweater he took out of the bad and put it on himself

it was the same overall pastel yellow with black text… but the words were different and your jaw DROPPED

‘will you go out with me?’

BITCH YOU WERE SO SHOOK YOU ALMOST STARTED CRYING LIKE OH MY GOOOOOOOD

and that was when the power couple of hogwarts started

everyones been knew you two liked eat other hyuck said “its abt damn time”

anyway!!!!! yall are so cute like he walks you to class and even the teachers think you guys are just the cutest thing ever and when you told your friends???? they were SCREAMING like you got such an amazing guy UGH your mind

all i’m saying is… dating jaemin is like dating your really clingy and attractive best friend and you aint mad abt it

it had only been a couple weeks since sm okayed you and your boyfriend to announce your relationship, and there were various reactions.

many happy, many upset, and many jealous.

while the happy and supportive messages made everything one hundred times better, the comments about how you didn’t deserve him were was stuck out most to you.

you weren’t an idol, model, or actor, but just an everyday citizen. you and doyoung were friends since high school, where you supported him and his dream, and ended up staying in touch. it surprised you how much effort doyoung initiated in keeping touch after he became a full time trainee and soon, idol.

you two secretly dated behind the backs of the sm executives after his debut. it had officially been the end of his rookie time period when you two came clean.

at first, the executives were far from happy as he was dating someone not seen in the public eye as much as he was. however, as time went on, they okayed the choice to publicize your relationship; but maybe it wasn’t such a good idea.

hate comments were spat at you left and right, whether it was you walking down the side of the road or on the internet. soon, the comments internalized in you. you begun to believe what they said.

when doyoung was around you would put on a happy face. you would pretend to be the happy person he fell in love with, but you had been far from happy in a long time. when doyoung left, it was a different story.

boxes and boxes of tissues were blown through, your throat was constantly sore from sobbing, and you couldn’t remember the last time your eyes were red and swollen. he had no idea. maybe you were just a good actor.

however, one day, he came home early and wasn’t expecting to see you sobbing into your pillow. he had asked to take the day off to spend time with you, and he had seemed to catch you at the worst possible time. his heart ached at the sight of used tissues surrounding you, your pain filled sobs going in one ear and out the other.

“y/n?”

your eyes widened. that voice, you thought. fuck.

“w-what’s wrong?” he asked, the worry painted in his voice. “what happened?”

you chuckled sourly. “of course you don’t know.”

his eyebrows furrowed, walking slowly towards your shaking figure on the bed. he out stretched his arms, going in for a hug as he gained on you. “please, baby, tell me what’s wrong.”

you shook your head, pushing away his arms and turning your back on him. “don’t act like you h-haven’t seen what people are saying about m-me.”

doyoung inhaled, you almost hearing the stress and pain in the breathe. “i have,” he started, sitting next to you on the bed. “but i ignore it because i know none of it is true, y/n.”

you glanced at him through puffy eyes, letting him enclose his hand around yours and lacing your fingers together. “it just… hurts.”

he pulled you to his chest, rubbing your hair to soothe you.

“i know, baby, but listen,” he loosened his grip so he could look you in the eyes. “i’ll never let any one hurt you, you understand?”

you nodded as he pressed a kiss against your forehead, muttering an ‘i love you’ under his breathe.

you pinched the bridge of your nose between your thumb and forefinger, a slight red tint coming upon your face out of frustration. today was going to be his first day off until nct china debuted later this year and your boyfriend had just detailed to you that sicheng asked if they could hang out; and instead of saying he wanted to spend a long overdue date night with you, he agreed and had just now told you of his plans.

“we haven’t hung out in so long,” you started, pouting as you moved towards him. “i just want to spend some time with my boyfriend.”

he opened his arms and pulled you close to his chest. you sighed into the embrace, enhaling his strong cologne. “you always see sicheng, will one day without him hurt?”

suddenly, yuta put the pieces together in his head. “are you jealous? that’s cute.”

you let out a light giggle at his teasing tone and leaned more into his chest.

“i just miss you, that’s all.”

althought your words came out muffled, yuta let out a pained smile when they reached his ears. he misses you too, but his dumbass went and did something that hurt you.

he pulled away from the hug to look you in the eyes. “so, let’s do something.”

um,,,, panic starts to sink in and he kinda starts crying in the hufflepuff common room

he starts running around the school in his pajamas and deadass pays no mind to his classes or the teachers and students freaked out bc the normally cold handsome looking jeno is??? showing emotion?????

soon, he’s been spending hours just looking for his cat

like running into the library and searching through every nook and cranny literally flinging around books and eventually getting yelled at and kicked out by the librarian

he literally skipped all his classes and was still in his pajamas by the end of the day

this is where you come into play

you had stayed after class to go over a concept you were too confident in and found jeno just..,,,,

crying?? and frantically searching in bushes at like 6pm????

is he good????

you and jeno were acquaintances and had previously taken transfigurations with him both your first and second year, but had no classes with him third year

he seemed nice, but you’d never spoken to him personally… so would it be weird if you just..,,,, asked what was wrong?

you decided to be nice and go ahead and ask

to which jeno was a little shaken up and literally leaped into your arms for a hug and cried into your shoulder :((

he hiccuped and struggled to explain to you how his cat went missing and he doesn’t know what to do or where to start and he’s looked literally EVERYWHERE and can’t find her

comforting him, you hug him back and pat his shoulder to tell him to let it all out and once he was calm, you offered to help him search for her

HE THANKS YOU SOOOO MUCH AND LITERALLY GIVES YOU ANOTHER BIG ASS BEAR HUG

you tell him that he should go get some rest and that you two could look tomorrow morning since classes were moved to the afternoon

he’s a little reluctant,,, but agrees and you walk him back to the hufflepuff common room and gave him a little pat on the shoulder and reassured him you guys could find her :)

he lowkey uwus and returns to his dorm and slept (though he struggled)

the next morning, you two met during breakfast and decided to work together and search in individual rooms and areas

after HOURS of searching, you two eventually found her!!!

somehow,,, she got into the boys bathroom on the third floor??? but BOY was he so HAPPY to see her

like he cried out of happiness and was snuggling her on the way back to his dorm and thanked you over and over and over

you turned to him and was like “HEY!! no problem!! if MY cat went missing, i would literally d i e”

and you saw him kinda,,, glance at the floor and blush a little..,,,,

“well..” he started and you were literally uwuing

“maybe our cats could have a uhhh,,,” you were smiling so hard at his little blushing fit and how cute he looked :(( “have a playdate sometime?”

LIKE UGHHHHH UWU !!!!!!!!

of COURSE you say Y E S and you two hit it off

college!au jungwoo

jungwoo’s been dragging me by my weave since boss, and he’s about ready to send that bitch into orbit

let’s start w the basics…

major: psychology

minor: child development

extracurriculars: best buddies

other: helps out at student support groups

school life

ugh he is the sweetest thing

he’s so observant and analytical it seriously hurts

he gives the best advice and is all of his friends’ go-to shoulder to cry on

because he’s gonna do more than just tell them it’s gonna be okay

he’s gonna tell them exactly what they need to hear exactly when they need to hear it

he’s just skilled that way

no, he’s not a sociopath. shaners, begone from me!

he’s not a busy guy, rather an occupied one

if that makes sense

what im trying to say is that his schedule isn’t all that packed and he’s not involved in too many extracurricular activities

but that’s because he’s so passionate about the ones he is “lucky enough to be a part of”

he loves being one of the event planners for best buddies

he always coordinates the best events and he knows it

like last year, he came up with the genius idea of a yule ball themed winter formal ugh his mind

and he loves being a facilitator at student support groups because he feels like he’s actually making positive change in his community

and that’s really what he wants to do forever, y’know?

and they could not be more stressed about their upcoming finals

you’d text them every day asking to hang out, but they’d turn you down every time, saying they were studying for their learning and memory final with this guy named jungwoo

you knew they needed to study and do well in school

but tbh,,, you were kinda jealous of this jungwoo guy

your best friend was one of the only people you ever spent time with outside of class, and them being so busy these days made you feel lonely at times

so you decided you would get involved in a club or two to keep yourself occupied and maybe make some new friends

you tried out every club you came across

model un? massive time commitment

michael jackson fanclub? the president, donghyuck, was a little too enthusiastic..

poetry club? so many stuck-up white kids

you had just about given up hope

until one day

you saw a flyer on a lamppost on the way to your english lit class

“come to best buddies! every friday at 3pm in room 106!”

“cute,” you thought

you were in

so that friday, you went to the best buddies meeting in a hurry

your class before this had run late

so you open the classroom door as quietly as possible

and it seemed as if all eyes focused on you

you froze in place, feeling totally overwhelmed

but you noticed an orange-haired boy standing at the whiteboard, gesturing for you to come in

“don’t be shy. take a seat!”

he flashed you one of the warmest, most genuine smiles you had ever seen

“so, back to brainstorming, everyone”

he was cute

at this particular meeting, the cute orange-haired boy was leading the club as they brainstorm ideas for their first fundraising event next month

and he seems so lovely???

like some of the other members are recommending some Dumb Ass ideas like a kissing booth or selling beer and the boy is still so tolerant and open to their ideas???

and so at the end of the meeting the orange-haired boy pulls you aside

and he smiles at you, chuckling under his breath UWU

“awesome! i’m jungwoo. see you next time!”

and so yeah from that day forward you Hate him for deadass no reason

and the more meetings you attend, the more you realize how sweet and passionate he is

which literally only makes you hate him more bc he cant be smart AND funny AND caring AND cute like…

unfair!

and as the weeks go by

you start to realize that jungwoo is That Bitch when it comes to event planning

he always has the best theme ideas for dances and fundraisers and always comes up with the cutest destinations for best buddies outings

so you decide to make it your mission to one-up jungwoo at every chance you get

and so begins the lowkey rivalry between you and jungwoo

“so i was thinking we should take participants on a ‘haunted’ hayride for the october outing.”

“jungwoo, that’s cute! but what if we got everyone together to build a haunted house? then we could charge people for entry and use it as both an outing and a fundraiser.”

and jungwoo senses the cockiness in your voice

he’s no fool

and he’s literally studying human thoughts and emotions

but even still, he can’t quite put his finger on why you have it in for him

and that distresses him

but he tries his best to carry on with his daily life as best he can

but honestly…

youve really been stealing his thunder lately

like he’s always the go-to guy for his friends when they have problems, but somehow he became the one running to them

he’s not debilitated by your very existence and your knack for event planning but he feels like maybe he did something wrong to make you not like him???

and that hurts him because he really prides himself on being a kind, fun-loving guy :(((

and so the fall comes to a close

and it’s time that the club votes to pick the two members who will work together to plan the winter formal alongside the club president

and of course jungwoo knows hes gonna win a spot

he did last year

making him the first freshman in best buddies history to land a spot on the winter formal committee

and on your way to the final best buddies meeting of october, your phone vibrates because of an email notification

“congratulations! you’ve been selected as one of the two best buddies members to help plan the winter formal!”

and youre like FUUUUUUUCK WHAT IF THE OTHER ONE’S JUNGWOO

plot twist: it is

he lowkey expected you’d be the other planner

but he didnt mind

he really wanted to use this opportunity to impress you and to show you he really wasnt that bad after all

which is literally not what you thought at all but okay

and so, as required, you attended the mandatory winter formal committee (aka you, jungwoo, and the president) meetings twice a week

and somehow?? you and jungwoo managed to be able to like.. function as a team??

despite your constant need to one-up jungwoo, you let him take the dub and said you liked his theme idea better than your own

you were actually impressed by him this time

he had planned this whole elaborate outer space theme in mind for the best buddies winter formal

with different sections of the massive gym representing the different topography climates or each planet in the solar system

and you helped him develop his idea too

you came up with the idea to have the entryway look like a space shuttle, so it’s like youre embarking on a space mission when you walk into the gym

ugh your minds worked so well together

over the course of the next few weeks, you really let your guard down

and somehow, your grudge against jungwoo evaporated into thin air

now he wasn’t infuriatingly sweet and cute and intelligent

he was adorably sweet and cute and intelligent

and before you knew it, it was the night of the winter formal

you and jungwoo stood outside the gym all dolled up, welcoming the attendees

“we did a pretty spectacular job, didnt we, y/n?”

you looked down at your feet as you blushed and smiled, nodding in agreement

“i’ve never really seen you smile. your smile is beautiful! wear it more.”

and you literally felt your heart launch itself into space right there and then

and you just thought to yourself..

yeah, jungwoo’s a whole man

you two talked the night away and actually had a really fun time

so as the dance came to a close

jungwoo said to you

“you know, i gave you my number at that first meeting. i really wish you’d text me some time.”

and with that, he walked away from you, a huge grin playing on his lips

and you were like UGHHHHHHGHGHHGHHG WAS THAT LIKE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE OR IS HE BEING CUTE FDSFKJDSKFJD

and you were SAD now because this was the last time you’d see him before winter break

but he said to text him

so the next morning, you did

you sent him a simple “hey :)” after like ten whole minutes of trying to come up with the perfect message

and he replied in a flash with an even more lively “heyy :))”

and you were like HHHHHH “i feel like we got off on the wrong foot at the beginning of the semester. i was really jealous of you because…” blah blah blah and you tried to explain yourself and apologize to him for being so cold

and he was surprisingly cool about it???

and after another few minutes of communicating, he shot you one final text

“hey so im getting on a plane back home in five minutes, but i wanted to ask you something before i board.”

and youre like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH “sure, what is it?”

“i know it’s really early, but i wanted to ask if maybe you’d be my best buddie at the spring fling?”

and youre like “yes! sure! of course! see you there! have fun at home! text ya later! bye! did i say sure?! see ya! have a safe flight! goodbye!”

relationship

so when you returned from break

you and jungwoo didn’t see each other until the first best buddies meeting of the semester

and you two were all smiles around each other

you didn’t jump to put a label on things

but about a week before the spring dance he shot you a text asking

“we’re still on for the spring fling, right?”

“yeah, of course. why do you ask?”

“just wondering. i also wanted to ask if you would like to be my s/o. officially.”

and of course, you agree

being jungwoo’s s/o is so nice

he does anything and everything for you

he literally wont let you leave the best buddies meeting room until you let him carry your books for you

and he does all the corny stuff too

like lending you his jacket when it’s cold out and pretending to yawn so he can discretely put his arm around you at the movie theater

he loves to practice his psychology studies on you too

like if he notices you twiddling your thumbs or walking at a different pace than normal, he’ll immediately jump to analyzing your behavior

“your body language is different than usual. you seem stressed? do you have a paper coming up?”

sometimes it gets lowkey annoying

but tbh it’s still so cute because that’s one of his little ways of showing you that he really cares about you and your wellbeing

all in all, you wouldnt have jungwoo any other way

and he wouldnt have you change a thing either

nct ships !

hey shawty XD

good news! we’re opening up our ask to ships! we’ll be accepting both photo and written ships for all units of nct, but before you send in a request, here are some quick rules:

make sure you drop your request in our request box!

you can submit either a written or photo ship: not both at once

if written, you can write as much as you want, but try your best not to write a whole essay

you can always ask for your photo to be kept private, but if you don’t say, we’ll be posting it

when submitting your ship request, make sure you specify what unit you want us to ship you with

you can either request for the whole of nct 2018 or for two subunits (dream, u ,127)

when requesting for nct u, specify which nct u you would like the be shipped with (boss, 7th sense, etc.)

and be patient!

chinese lessons w/china line !

kun would have lesson plans made and everything. if he was gonna teach you any chinese at all, he may as well teach you the right way. he’d plan his lessons out weeks in advance because he’d want everything to be just perfect for you. he’d start off telling you all about chinese culture and explaining the roots and evolution of all the characters and their radicals, and honestly, your head would be spinning with confusion, but kun was so into it and so cute that you wouldn’t be able to hide your smile.

first of all, sicheng would be so excited when you first asked him if he’d be willing to teach you a few phrases in his native tongue. he’d get a noticeable energy boost and agree right away. on the days leading up to your first chinese lesson, he wouldn’t think about it too much. when the day comes, he’d start off teaching you all the vowel tones and chuckle under his breath as you struggle to repeat him. he wouldn’t mind though, and would tell you “perfect! nice work!” after every thing you’d try to say

yukhei, like sicheng, would be really happy that you’re keen to learn about his language and culture! he’d give you a great big hug and insist on beginning Chinese Lessons with Yukhei immediately. he would try to teach you some characters through fun activities and songs and would definitely teach you the god awful phonetic alphabet song (skip to 0:48 for a good time) and the friend song. he’d baby you for sure, making you blush and get all embarrassed but all in all he’d be adorable and quite encouraging too (after he’s playfully made fun of you a little)

i have this feeling that renjun would be extremely flustered when you asked him to teach you chinese. he’d agree without thinking and then get super nervous because now he has to teach you something and try not to look like a fool. but fear not! renjun manages to pull off a pretty cool first chinese lesson. he’ll take you to a private study room at the public library and bring you a chinese 1 textbook that he handpicked himself from the library shelves days in advance. he’d be a really good and understanding teacher and walk you through everything

chenle would be PSYCHED to teach you chinese! he’d agree to meeting you at your house promptly at 7pm on sunday evening and you’d answer the door and he’d just walk in right past you already speaking exclusively in chinese. he’d love to throw you in the deep end to confuse and annoy you for a bit, but he’d eventually drop the act after he’d had his fun. he would have brought a whiteboard with him and he’d show you how to write his name, and then give you a chinese name of your own. (disclaimer: he might teach you an inappropriate phrase here and there and tell you it meant something innocent yikes)
