Toyota joins the quest to develop a new chair giving more mobility to the disabled http://flip.it/nfxBEH I really love the concept of a wheelchair being able to transform and allow a person to get the feeling that they are at eye level with their peers. I personally would hate being in a wheelchair for the sole reason of everyone having to look down at me all the time and then me having to look up at them just to have a conversation. Because of that reason I really like this chair. The iBot is also able to go up hills and stairs which I think is also a plus for the user. I think it is great that Toyota has noticed the need for mobility for individuals with disabilities and has gone out of their way to try and create a chair that is going to help so many individuals who are wheelchair bound.

When wheelchair design can take many steps up http://flip.it/xkjc67 The wheelchair definitely stood out to me because I have never seen anything like it before and it looks really complex. The reason it looks so complex is because it has 5 different modes that the chair can transform into. It has driving mode, stair mode, safe mode which is just the stationary mode. There is also an elevated mode. This mode transforms the chair into almost a standing position so that the user can be eye to eye with the person they're communicating with. The last mode is the track mode which can be used in slippery or snowy conditions so the chair doesn't slide on the surface. I think this chair would be a great asset for someone who doesn't have any cognitive disabilities. I think it would be just too complex for someone who has a cognitive disability because of all the different mode changes that can be involved with the chair.

I find is mouse very interesting because it obviously doesn't look like your average mouse. I feel like it would be really difficult to use. I feel like I would be distracted looking at the pen and not pay attention to the computer screen. And I think it would put strain on your wrist after so long because with a regular mouse you rest your wrist on your desk or table. With his mouse you have to hold your wrist up so I think that is definitely a disadvantage.

This is a pen that's not like any other pen. This pen allows anyone that has trouble reading to be able to take an exam or do homework with confidence. This pen reads anything that is written in English, Spanish, French, German, or Italian. This can be very useful for someone who has dyslexia or another similar disorder.

Google for Dyslexia
Google for Dyslexia: Using Chrome for Reading and Writing (Part One) http://flip.it/eF3VAc This is an article about how google chrome is advancing for those who suffer from dyslexia. These computers are cheaper than other computers and that have different adaptive setting for students with dyslexia to help them with their school work. They are able to log into an account on the computer so it allows them to continue their work and use the same settings on a different computer as well. I think this is a great advance because they kids who are diagnosed with dyslexia are able to learn in the same classroom with their peers and do the same work. They just get a little bit more help.

Wheelchair That Can Stand May Be Rebooted
A Reboot For Wheelchair That Can Stand Up And Climb Stairs http://flip.it/OCQsWl I have seen wheelchairs similar to this one but this is the only one that I have seen that can go up and down stairs as well as stand up. The veteran in the article mentioned that it has changed his life by helping him "get cookies for his wife or getting a good booze." I think it would be an advantage to reboot this wheelchair just because there aren't many like it that I have seen that can stand but then also go up and down stairs.

Tech for Dementia Patients
Proximity: Wearable Tech for Dementia Patients http://flip.it/T7Gnl- I found this device super interesting because I see on the news all the time about people with dementia getting lost because they have wandered off. This device is a wearable tracking device. You can attach the device on the shirt if your loved one ever wanders off you will be able to track them using your phone. I think this is a great idea for preppie who are worried about their loved one wandering off and getting lost.

Research about Modified Household utensils
Modified household utensils improve autonomy and lives of people with leprosy http://flip.it/9UA_IE This article is about a research study conducted to modify every day tools used by everyday people. It was specifically focused on people who suffer with leprosy. As participants, they were able to pick out different tools that they have trouble using ever since being diagnosed with the disease. These tools mostly consisted of every day objects found around the house such as kitchen utensils. I found this article interesting because it shows that there is continued research being conducted to try and update every day tools to be able to be used by people who struggle to use them.

It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re 17 and planning for someday. And then, quietly, and without you ever really noticing… someday is today. Then someday is yesterday. And this is your life.

Love finds you, Son, you don’t find love. It’s got a little bit to do with destiny, fate, what’s written in the stars. A lot to do with the simple fact that most women are smarter than we are. And wily. Your sorry butt never had a chance. But if you want to believe you had a choice in the matter, I’d say you made a good one.

↳ one tree hill (2003 - 2012)
"make a wish and place it in your heart. anything you want. everything you want. do you have it? good. now believe it can come true. you never know where the next miracle’s gonna come from. the next memory. the next smile. the next wish come true. but if you believe that it’s right around the corner. and you open your heart and mind to the possibility of it. to the certainty of it. You might just get the thing you’re wishing for. the world is full of magic. you just have to believe in it. so make your wish … do you have it? good. now believe in it. with all your heart."
