Chan looked up from his laptop, immediately shifting his focus to his daughter, who was standing by the TV, a soft pout on her face.

“What is it, angel?” he asked, a gentle smile forming as he closed his laptop and gave her his full attention.

“Game?” She pointed at the television, her big eyes filled with hopeful expectation.

Chan glanced toward the bedroom door, where his wife Y/n had been a moment ago. “What did Mummy say?” he asked, his voice gentle but firm.

“But Appa!” She pouted even more, crossing her arms. “She said no…” she mumbled, her words trailing off as she finally surrendered under Chan’s knowing gaze.

She knew the look—his “don’t lie to me” look. It always worked, even when she tried to avoid the truth.

With a soft sigh, Chan reached out and gently lifted her onto his lap. He placed a kiss on her forehead, the kind that always made her feel safe.

“If Mama said no, then it’s a no, sweetheart,” he said, his tone soft but steady. “But…” he paused, watching her face fall. “We can go get some ice cream.”

Her eyes instantly lit up, and her small hands gripped his shirt tighter. “Really, Papa?”

Chan nodded with a smile, adjusting her in his arms. “Yes, baby girl. Go get your shoes, and we can take Berry with us too.”

At the mention of their dog, Berry, her face broke into a bright grin. She squealed with excitement and nearly jumped out of his lap.

“Yay! Okay, Oppa!” She called out, her voice filled with joy as she dashed toward the hallway, already excited for the ice cream and her beloved dog.

Chan chuckled to himself. He loved the way she was always so full of life.
