30th December 2019 & 1st January 2020 - Salto Valley (RI) and Aragno (AQ)
A few snapshots of my beloved Italy: the rugged and lush landscapes of the Apennine mountains and its old medieval hamlets and villages left untouched by modernisation.

December 2019 - Rome, Italy
There’s no need to introduce Rome and its wonders as virtually everyone has heard or read about it. We could easily say that its fame precedes her!
This is the city where I grew up. A city founded in 753 BC and raised to be the capital of vast empire now long bygone.

January 2020 - Haworth, West Yorkshire moors, Northern England
Last weekend my friend Jack and I decided to take advantage of the sunny (yet crispy cold) day to explore the little village of Haworth, in West Yorkshire, and follow the trail that led us to the Bronte waterfalls and eventually to Top Withens on the upland moors.
The scenery was dramatic: Flocks of grazing sheep dotted the hills and valleys and gazed at us whilst we were walking by.
In these pictures I wanted to capture the other face of Northern England: opposite the once industrial cities and towns (yet now thriving with a cultural revival) is a rugged wind-swept rural landscape that inspired many artists and attracts nature-lovers from across the world.

November 2019 > January 2020 - London, England
I’ve been calling London my home for 2 and a half years now. I moved to this thriving city back in 2017 for work and have loved every minute of it (with all its highs and lows). I paired my love for long-exposure photography with the stunning night lights along the Thames that London has to offer. Here’s to many more good moments in this city! Enjoy

December 2019 - Gudja, Malta
Christmas time is family time! The last time I flew back home for Christmas a few weeks ago, I decided to book a (much cheaper) flight with Air Malta from London Gatwick to Rome Fiumicino which included a 5-hour layover in the Maltese Archipelago. I took this chance to get out of the small international airport and take a walk in the surrounding areas before the second leg of my flight home.
The small village of Gudja, lies on a small hill a short walk from the Airport terminals. The town was very quiet (being lunchtime on a pre-Christmas Saturday) with the exception of the rumbling sound of airplanes’ engines during takeoff or landing, but I had the chance to see the lively main square being all set up for the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
In one of my strolls in the village, I came across a little cat colony living on the rubble walls along the Triq San Gorg, a narrow two-lanes street leading to the Ħas-Saptan area. I befriended this beautiful shy cat who kept looking at me from behind the stones probably waiting for me to give it some food, and I could not help but take my camera out to capture the beautiful, almost dazzling, green eyes that were staring at me.

November 2019 - Horsey Gap, Norfolk, East of England
“Nothing quite prepares you for the sight that you’re faced with once over the dunes and onto the viewing platform” says an article on ExploreNorfolk.co.uk, and it is indeed so! It truly is a remarkable experience to see these beautiful creatures so close by. From late October through to mid January seal mums swim across the frigid waters of the North sea to come to this beach to give birth to their pups. The white and fluffy pups are nursed on their mother’s milk which is made up of up to 60% fat, growing to four times their birth size.
It’s easy to spot big males fighting on the shore to get the right to mate. In fact the birth season and the breeding season happen at the same time: the ready-to-mate males and birthing females will stay ashore for the entire time, feeding off of their fat reserves to stay alive. In a month time the pups will change their fur into a grey(ish) waterproof coat and will head off to sea to provide for themselves. The females will then mate at the end of the season, ready to return the next year with another pup ready to be born. What a story!
These are 2 shots taken from the roped-off viewing platform on a November afternoon: In the first photo you’ll see a mum and her pup sleeping next to each other and the second one depicts a little seal pup dozing before calling mum for his next meal.

November 2019 - Richmond Park, London
Deer rutting season: Two bucks practising some fighting. When fighting, deer hit each other with their antlers and often lock their antlers together. Someday soon these two bucks will compete for a doe or a group of females.
