Tbh considering Caesar's past, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why he treats Joseph so badly during battle tendency. We know that Caesar cared for Joseph (Messina straight up saying it, Caesar expressing relief at Joseph not dying to Esidisi, etc.) but rarely ever does he do anything nice to him. Joseph had the rings in him, given an impossible task.

Caesar was most likely treating Joseph that way because it was very unlikely Joseph would survive. He was trying to distance himself from Joseph/get Joseph to not like him so the death of another person he cared about wouldn't hurt him as much

not emotional over thinking about how throughout all of part 2 the fear was surrounding joseph dying due to the poison in him and how much caesar probably feared losing him . and thenthe exact opposite happens .,, or anything...

caejose hc where caesar loves the taste of bitter/unsweet things. he loves dark coffee and dark chocolate and stuff like that, you get the idea. AND joseph has the biggest sweet tooth known to mankind, he's always eating little sweeties and has his tea with like 9 sugars. when caesar and joseph kiss, joseph always tastes a little sweet so it creates this idea in caesar's head that sweet tasting thing=joseph, so NOW caesar starts to enjoy the taste of sweet things
