Catch Me If You Can! African Pained Wolf or Cape hunting Dog, even Wild Dog if you like. This was quite a difficult shot as I was totally unprepared and shooting out of the window of my Land Rover. The dogs ran paralleel to me, which gave the opportunity to try my panning skills (or lack of!). I fired away as about 6 of the pack passed me. I think I managed a few more shots with an acceptable degree of focus. Brains v Brawn. I watched this episode unfold for over an hour. 2 Hyenas v 4 wild dog. The Wild Dogs truly humiliated the hyenas; they were far too inteligent, working a s team, agile and cunning. One would distract the hyena from the front while another bit from the back. The Wild Dog Alpha male (on the left in the pic) riducled the hyenans by almost touching noses in an act of extreme provocation. The hyenas gace up the fight and sat back to back in the dirt, completely exhausted.
