ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help

I'm losing my mind at how slowly Iyad and Ruba's campaign is going. Can you just pay attention. Please. I know fundraising posts on your dash may blur together but please remember these are real people.

Iyad and Ruba's campaign was already going at a slow pace before this at only $100 per day but now it's barely getting 10 bucks. It has to support not one but TWO families now since Ruba can't access the money from her previous fundraisers. That's a total of at the least, 16 people.

Ruba is currently in the hospital and if you've been following the news, you know how dangerous it is for Gazans to be stuck in one place. And Iyad is currently having heart problems due to the tremendous stress of barely surviving under genocide.

I am Mahmoud's wife. Unfortunately, I wanted to inform you that my husband Mahmoud was injured in the head, which caused a skull fracture that descended onto the nerves of the brain and affected the nerves of speech, hearing, and sight.

Mahmoud's condition is very critical and he must go abroad for treatment. He was injured 3 days ago and underwent surgery to clean his head. People making post to (rightfully) mock zionists are getting more interactions than the ones on fundraisers. That's great that you are laughing at them but what are you actually doing to help their victims? How much times do palestinian have to wait for you to start caring? Do you need to see another beheaded baby to start donating or is it just performative?

I can't believe than even after posting about the shootings my friend Shahed and her family survived and her showing the BULLETS that got in their house (not the first time it happened) people barely gave attention to her posts and donations are getting even slower. Only 3 in one day.

If I can't post for a day I feel like people on tumblr will forget her and abandon her campaign. And frankly I don't have much hope that people will act to help her get to her goal, be it short or long term.

If you can't donate then please at least share her posts @drshahd and @shahdhatem, make your own posts to reach more people, send her fundraisers to people you know or tag them. Just please do something !

If you don’t know already, Siraj ( @siraj2024 ) is a devoted father to his three children and a writer and journalist from Gaza. He did a bachelor's degree and completed his master's in journalism and media just an year before the genocide began. He even wanted to get a doctorate! But his dreams were shattered when when the genocide started in October 2023.

In November 2023, the IOF destroyed his beautiful home which took ten years of love and labour. Ever since October 7th, he has been displaced seven times. Do you know what that has done to his three beautiful boys? In his words:

“My children have lost their childhoods among these makeshift shelters. They don’t know how to play or learn. Instead, they help with hard tasks like fetching drinking water from long distances, cleaning around the tent, and much more. They deserve better.”

One of his boys contracted a serious infection from the unhygienic conditions of the tent his family lives in. This is not how his children should be living! They should be in school, they should be playing, AND THEY SHOULD BE SAFE.

Forgive me for invoking her but within 24 hours of her candidacy Kamala Harris’ campaign raised a record breaking 81 million USD with the help of small-dollar donations. Clearly even the smallest amount goes a long way! If you can give your money to a candidate enabling a genocide, you can give your money to people escaping genocide
