😥 For someone my muse finds annoying

Trip’s really too chill to find anyone annoying. He can make conversation with just about anyone, and he’s learned from his mother that everyone has a story and everyone deserves to be seen and heard. So even the people that most others write off or brush aside because they’re ‘weird’ or ‘annoying’ Trip tries to at least be cordial to.

Aside from Jemma, Sharon is the only reason Trip reupped at S.H.I.E.L.D. While there’s something telling him he should be doing something new, something all his own, he’s never not been by Sharon’s side in some capacity or another. She’s known him longer and better than just about everyone in his life, and if staying means he can see her and make sure she’s okay, he’ll do it without hesitation.

Sharon can beat him in a fight. Sharon’s a better sniper than he is. And Trip’s pretty sure she might actually be braver than he is too. She doesn’t need him or anyone else to fight her battles because she’s made herself strong enough to be able to fight them herself. She lets him hold her flower and sometimes her when life wears on her more than she can handle, but there’s never any doubt in his mind that she’ll pick herself back up all on her own and be ready for the next fight before everybody else is.

“Oh yeah? Has it been that long since I last saw you? ...Damn. Doesn’t seem like it.” Trip smiles. “Do I know her?”

“Thanks -- I appreciate that. I was just away for three weeks, and coming home and seeing her waiting for me was the best feeling. So I’m definitely happy; you’d have to ask her if she is though. I think I’m doing okay so far.”

“I have also been dating for just over three months, but I did not know her well before then. We had met only once – it is funny how love works.”

“I’m glad that you have been able to find someone you care so deeply for – I wish you both happiness.”

Her legs lock around him, and he rolls into her again, laughing as she clutches and tugs at his shirt. He gets the hint.

The air in the room cools his heated skin when he pulls off his shirt, but Jemma’s skin is warm and smooth where it touches his as he leans back down to kiss her. He drags his teeth down her neck, across her collarbone, and to her shoulder where he grips the strap of her bra and pulls it down her arm. He echoes the action on the other side, but he’s too eager to reach behind her to undo the clasp and pull the garment off of her properly.

Instead, he slips a hand under one cup and lifts her breast from beneath its cover. Only a fraction of a second later, he’s leaning down and sealing his lips over her nipple, flicking his tongue over it and licking and sucking until it pebbles and peaks from his ministrations.

“You are so goddamn beautiful,” he murmurs, licking around the swell of her breast before meeting her gaze, “and I missed you so much.”

She’s right to be wary of strangers, and he tells her as much. “Nah, it’s cool. You gotta look out for yourself, I get it.” He reaches into his pocket slowly and draws out his wallet and badge, flipping them open and showing her both. “I’m Trip, and I’m a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Now you know my name and where I work. ...Does that help?”

“I checked the library, I know there is one nearby. I know LA like the back of my hand,” she tries to excuse herself, “But New York might as well be the back streets of Vienna for me.” Arms cross over her chest. “I’d.. appreciate it.” But he’s an adult, she warns herself. So many adults, so many people to not trust. “Excuse me for being wary of strangers..”

Trip frowns, thinking. “A little over three months? I’ve known her for a while though. She’s a good girl -- don’t know what the hell I did to deserve her, but I won’t complain.”

“We are trying our best to keep everything quiet for the moment. We would like to stay out of the tabloids for as long as possible.”

“How about you? How long have you been dating?”

Her blush is gorgeous, much like the rest of her, and Trip cranes his head up to kiss down the side of her neck where her skin is flushing red. His lips move lower as his hands drag higher, pulling her dress up until he has to separate from her and help her lift her head and shoulders so he can pull it all the way off.

He leans back, admiring her even further, beautiful and spread out on his bed.

“You know, I think I really like this set, Jem,” he jokes. He lets his lips just barely trail over her collarbone as he situates himself between her legs. He grinds slowly against her, one long roll of his hips.

“I’ll like it even better when it’s not hiding the rest of you from me.”
