“oh yeah, i guess you’re right. everything takes a bunch of time to learn. that kinda sucks. i guess you can’t put your time into everything.” except for maybe super super simple stuff, but even that took some time. “though i could definitely try and learn some more when i get like..free time again. whenever that will be.” 

maybe she could work on the coding stuff when she gets off work early..you know, if her other thousand things don’t take up that time first.

“ hmm. that does appear to be a common reason for others to abandon such dedication-based activities such as coding. though, i could posit the same reason for not following the road of a ninja - even if as an elementary school student i have more free time than you, i don’t nearly have enough to follow such a life-changing course of action. ”

it’s a mouthful of a response, but dendy doesn’t mind the verbosity anyway. she just…does that.

she gives a small nod. “yeah, it was!” enid isn’t one to hand out empty compliments, and dendy definitely deserves some genuine ones.

“well, maybe. but you’re really good at it, dendy!” dendy was probably like..one of the smartest kids she knew, to be honest. sometimes she didn’t even understand what she was saying. she knew a little bit of coding from the pow card stuff, but hadn’t really bothered to learn much more past that. “coding is cool, but.. i don’t know if i have the free time to learn, you know?”

dendy doesn’t pay enid’s inspection much mind - she’s focused on returning the plug and hefting her hackpack on again. what enid says, however, catches the attentions of dendy plenty.

“ hm? but…radicles isn’t - ”

“ - oh! ” the realization hits her in record time. “ that was a compliment. ” how silly of her to make such an error, enough that she gives a chuckle. “ thank you, enid. though, the hackpack itself is just a conduit with which i display the wonders coding can do - anyone can learn to code. you could do something like this through code, too. ”

Enid did K.O. ever told you and Rad that he once teamed up with different heroes to stop a dimension hopping cyborg and because of that K.O got a one of kind POW card because of that.

“of course he did! little guy was so excited he showed us the pow card like ten times in the span of, like, one hour.”

“oh yeah, i...guess you’re right. this does kinda hurt my eyes.” at noting that, she rubs them a little. who decided to make this thing so bright?

“thanks for saving our..uhm..eyesight?” it deserved a thank you, she thinks.

enid watches the sign change to a darker green, giving it a curious poke. she’d never get over how cool dendy’s hackpack was, even if she had only used it to change the sign’s color.

“thanks, dendy!” it’s genuine, and excited. she looks down at her and gives a small smile. “your hackpack is rad.”

“ a logical oversight on their part, ” dendy concludes with a nod. “ while it has worked on grabbing my attention, the fact remains that, given the clashing colors of font and background, i would be straining my eyes in an attempt to read it, had i not already known what it says. ”

“ that settles it. for the safety of the plaza’s collective eyesight, i will change the color immediately. ”

taking off her hackpack, dendy retrieves an input cord and jams it into the poster. up comes a display monitor of the selected portion - the background - and, next to it, a hex code text box.  ‘ #39ff14, ’ huh… she uses the keyboard undersides to backspace the hex already in there and replace it with something different: ‘ #2ec12e ’. a darker green replaces the color from before, and dendy sighs in relief. thank goodness.

“ i believe that should be a suitable substitute. ”

“thanks, ko. though we’ve done this like, a billion times already, probably. and, i mean, my ninja skills are pretty cool, hah. but they also took like..forever to master.”

   “you did so amazing taking out that shannon, enid! your ninja moves are so awesome! sometimes i wish i could do the neat tricks you can do! like turn into that really small tree!”

And of course it does Enid, you’re my oldest and dearest friend, it absolutely tore me up a bit before to know you thought so badly of me because of my behavior. Not that it wasn’t warranted, of course, but it was still difficult. I try to be someone for everyone to look up to, maybe even you someday as well! To mean something of that importance to my best friend would be one of the best honors, closely behind being a member of POINT, of course.

elodie, this is the most dramatic thing i’ve ever read. but at least we’re uh..on better grounds now, relationship wise. point prep might have almost killed me in several different ways while i was there for a little while but at least i got to spend time with you.

haha, yeah, maybe i will look up to you someday, who knows? anything can happen.

heck yes! cheesy movies are always the best to laugh at. i’ve gotten behind on incredibly cheesy movies since i’ve been busy, so this’ll be fun.

Image is important to me, yes, but its of course not everything, and I do hope my admirers see beyond that and can feel determination to reach their best potential. I hope you don’t think me pompous either, not that, I depend on your opinions whatsoever, but I do hope you think well of me in spite of my posh sensibilities.
