to be clear, c!techno is absolutely MASSIVE in my mind. im talking 8-9ft tall, built like a wall, too big to fit into a starter base. everyone cranes their necks to talk to this guy, he can shield you from the sun with the shadow he casts, etc. also looks scary despite his size-- covered in ancient scars, painful-looking piercings that he probably didn't even flinch at. (and then you talk to him, and you discover that he's a goofball and a softie)

which only makes it funnier that A) tinyboy c!quackity, famous for biting off more than he can chew and doing Entirely Too Much, declares THAT as his mortal enemy and gathers a small army of (mostly) humans to defeat him B) c!dream, a talented guy but still Just A Guy, declares THAT as his rival (and, understandably, is terrified of falling out of his favor) C) c!techno downs a bunch of speed potions before major battles because if these dumb tiny fucks are gonna get an edge over him in any way it's gonna be because they're faster

If it comforts anyone, I don't believe cc!Tommy had any intention to portray his character as being equally as bad as c!Dream. I'm choosing to ignore the iffier dialogue choices and see his final words not as self-deprecation, but an expression of deep and profound mercy from a boy who has always shown love to unlovable things.

The “Zephyrus suits you better” hits so strong because of both lore and meta implications.

Because yes it’s c!Techno basically saying to c!Phil that “you are more than your child’s murderer. You are the sky, the springtime, the winds of freedom.” And that’s beautiful.

But also, it’s that cc!Philza, with the name Daedelus, was probably willing to accept “I killed my son” as a huge part of his character (because, well, Icarus). And his grief and guilt still are a huge part of him, yes. But cc!Technoblade saw more to Phil's character than a filicide. And thought he deserved, well, to be more.

So why not “Zephyrus,” the gentlest of the four winds, a god who was willing to help others, but beneath that kindness lies a storm ready to strike if he is crossed?
