One of the biggest relatable Autism experiences with Laios tho has got to be multiple people around him vocally wishing he’d get better at “reading the room” or subtle social situations, but nobody tries to help him with it. It’s like they think he has the skill but lets his own interests take precedent which is not the case.
I’m glad he’s finally met Kabru in the anime, since Kabru is with people the way Laios is with monsters I feel they’ll balance each other. It feels like if Kabru was there when Laios misreads a social situation he’d explain it to him rather than just pulling him away like Chilchuk and Namari did.

I just want to say I really loved how much Laios stood up for Marcille this week. He really said I'm not about to let y'all shit all over my friend for doing what she could to save someone we all care about. I'm not about to let y'all shame her for her talent and genius. I'm not about to let her hard work go unacknowledged while the rest of you wouldn't ever have the balls to do what she did. Because unlike all of you she isn't a little bitch. It was beautiful man.
#Dungeon Meshi#people who say falin is her romantic soulmate and laios is her platonic soulmate are right tbh#it just occured to me that a big part of the reason they’ve become so close is not just falin#but Marcille is very vocal and has no issues telling Laios her true feelings#when he suggested eating monsters#chilchuck was not keen on it at all but he knew it was the most likely option#Marcille threw herself on the ground and threw a tantrum#he knows she’ll be extremely vocal but also she’ll do it if she has to#so he always knows where he stands with Marcille#and there’s a clear difference between her just tantrumming and getting her feelings out and being very serious

When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.

While it sucked seeing a decently popular creator plagiarise my work and go on to gain significantly more money and notoriety than me at least it means no one thinks the SU Critical trend was my fault, honestly probably the wackiest way a person could ever be bailed out of a situation. Who could possibly give a shit about my misinformed and underdeveloped opinions about everything except fight scenes when we have an absolute legend here saying LAPIS was the abuser and calling Rebecca Sugar a pervert for... *checks notes* having a nonbinary character. A full two hours of the most batshit opinions you've ever heard sandwiched between stolen blocks of text and veiled shipping discourse. Just completely overwrote whatever impact I would have had. I made out like a bandit. Absolutely no way the SU Critical shitshow can be blamed on me now. God works in mysterious ways

#there’s a lot to unpack here#a it will always be easier to deal with loss in fiction than real life in#in fact dealing with loss through fiction can help develop the skills to deal with loss in real life#b the author can do whatever they want because it’s their story and their characters#and if they want to tell a story of loss they need to kill a character#and if they don’t kill a character before you get to know them and love them you won’t care#there’s also a difference between a shock value kill and a pointed kill btw#c really classy and big brain to bring up a real and horrible issue to compare to fiction that’s always a good move#d to be Buddhist about it was a very funny line

i just gotta have my weekly “i am frustrated w employed people” moment. because i just feel so isolated in every conversation, i feel envious of their income and ability to live an independent life and buy things. if thats u I truly do need you to recognize and be conscientious of the fact that even though there is much wrong with the environment and expectations of employment, still that it is a privilege to be able to participate in it, because it means you at least have that base level of worth to society so that you can participate in it as designed. ppl like me cannot.

When I was younger, I wish someone had told me straight-up that not all adults experience “a calling”. That many of them never find particular purpose in a career. That sometimes, their job is just what pays the bills and they have to seek satisfaction and fulfillment elsewhere.
Because as an adult, this pervasive notion that there exists a perfect path for everyone, that people should love what they do, and that work is meant to function as a vehicle for fulfilling a person’s grand life destiny is not only inaccurate for many of us, it can be toxic.
The ideal is so ingrained that I have to remind myself constantly I’m not a failure because I don’t adore my job, and because I’m not rocking the world with my work. That is okay.
Sometimes, work is just work. There isn’t always a perfect career path, magically waiting to be discovered. There might not be this THING you were born to do. Sometimes, you discover that what you really want to be when you grow up is “paid”.
#this is why our societies need to move away from capitalism and work focused#you don’t need a calling or anything but overwork does make it harder to find fulfillment elsewhere#if you believe in callings your calling could be something that the current work climate doesn’t allow living on many wages

#polls#vegetable drawer as well#I forget about produce if I it’s out of sight so produce not going bad would be awesome#folding laundry can be relaxing actually especially if you do a little at a time as you pass it#a cup always full of your favourite beverage would make me paranoid about germs since I couldn’t wash the cup since it’s always full#I prefer pencils to pens and black ink is my preferred color of ink which isn’t hard to get#I run hot so my bed warms up quickly and well then I warm too much I cool down and it’s perfect again#plate is handy but I’ve been working on making sure I eat my food when it’s ready and I portion better#the comb/brush would be awesome but it would lead to less showers and showers are so comforting#plus I brush my hair twice a day so would it overwork my hair?#headphones would be good I love headphones but they hurt my ears after an hour or two if they didn’t crush ears I’d probably pick them#and I’m not too big on scenting air anyway so having a couple candles would be fine

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.
