You don’t understand how badly I need Cody to come to ‘collect’ Jean after pottery class one day and for Cody to see and recognize Elias. & the look they shoot Jeremy is almost smug as they bid their captain farewell; Jean notices.

He tries not to mention it. Jean doesn’t know why his mind snags on that almost knowing look Cody sent Jeremy and their pottery classmate, but it does and it stays snagged and it’s bothering him enough that he asks.

“You don’t know?” Cody raises their eyebrows as they pass over a pretty red apple they’ve packed for Jean. The Frenchman takes it, cradling it gently in his hands the way he does every new fruit Cody gifts him. Cody laughs.

“Jeremy and Elias… They’ve, you know—“ Cody motions suggestively with their hands, watching the way Jean’s expression goes blank as the taller backliner has to stop and process what he is being told. Cody presses on.

“Yeah, something like since photography last year, I think?” Cody’s green eyes flick to the sky and they let their gaze trail after a cloud, clicking their tongue. “Man, I can’t believe they aren’t super obvious about it. I guess not—?”

Cody’s stocky form startles and flinches, and they drop their gaze down to where Jean has crushed his apple in a one-handed death grip. A tiny bit of its insides leak through Jean’s fingers, and the look on Jean’s face could kill a man. Cody scoots away a bit along the grass.

“Definitely not, then. Gotcha,” Cody tries to be sympathetic as they watch Jean tuck his poor apple away into a spare napkin, wiping his messy hand on the lawn in contrast. They grin.

“Are you sure I can’t ask—?” Cody questions their friend, waggling their eyebrows as they lean towards Jean. The other scowls at them.

“You— cannot,” the way Jean hesitates has Cody’s grin widening enough that it’s a wonder their face doesn’t split in half.

“If you say so,” Cody teases, and lets it drop.

For now. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm.

day #12 of the Cody Cheese Crusade 2k25 & I might start writing snippets w/ these idk ?

any anapacody thoughts? headcanons?

So many�� WHERE DO I START?!? ❤️💜💚

1. They have blankets. So many blankets. On days where it isn’t too hot and when they just feel like snuggling, the three make a pallet in the floor and nap for hours on end (it’s barely an hour but Pat stresses that it feels like more)

2. Ananya is always coming up with new, random hobbies. One time she showed up with a bunch of fabric and told Cody that she wanted to make a tapestry to hang. Cody helped her with all the supplies-organizing and Pat hung the (horrendously ugly) finished product once it was finally ‘complete’ aka the ends weren’t totally frayed and falling apart.

3. Cody still doesn’t share a bed with AnaPat. Hence the pallet-naps when they can pull it off. Something like still needing their own space, what with still being on the fence about being a full-on ‘throuple.’

4. Cody talks about AnaPat to Jean… a lot. Just passing comments, almost always good. And in doing so they ‘accidentally’ opened the door for Jean to speak up about Jeremy more, and between you and me: Cody makes sure to tag every ‘Jeremy-fixated’ text that Jean sends.

5. Pat is the most short-tempered. But he has very good self control and when he doesn’t, Ananya is there to rein him in and Cody is there to carefully pat (lol) his back after her scolding. Ananya can be vicious when needed, fyi.

6. Cody knows that they want to take it to the next step with AnaPat but to be honest, fear still stands in the way… and they know they have very many steps to go. It’s a process.

7. Anapacoday & Catlaila have a bet going for when Jerejean finally get together. The only ones that still consider it an ‘if’ and not a ‘when’ are Pat and Laila, but the rest urge them to “have more faith in the sexy frenchman.”

How is Cody handling this weather?

They are not 🥵 They and AnaPat tried to go to the beach and even brought out the big umbrella for some shade, but the heat index was just too much. They packed up early and are now at home in their dorm basking in AC.

It’s kind of turning out to be a fun day though because Cody chopped some fruit into small bits for Ananya to put along with some water into ice trays to freeze. They’ll have them later in their drinks and Pat is just hoping that the soft plastic ice cube trays mold them better than the hard plastic ones do 🧊

Cody will probably rush some over to Jean in the morning before classes start so he can “see how kick ass fruit makes everything” whatever that means (Jean is still deciphering) 🍓

Well, what then? What happens if Cody, who is a close friend of Jean’s in-canon, is the one who helps him get over his… issues?

Something like this ‘double birthday bash’ and sure Cody devours the cake because Jean won’t eat it but they do get Jean to try a tiny bit of a corner of said cake?

Something like Cody helping Jean take baby steps towards acceptance of the things that are scary while also offering Jean the ‘things’ aka healthy fruits & veggies that Jean finds ‘safe’?
