I finally get to share the absolutely gorgeous commission I got from @kingofreddragons ! They were so kind and dedicated to bringing my vision to life. It's a scene from my fic, The Unquiet Grave. This is the last time Ivy and Zelkov touch while he's still alive (which is not a spoiler if you haven't read it). There are so many beautiful little details worked in. I could go on about it for ages.

This is my second commission with @kingofreddragons who is both incredibly talented and a joy to work with.

Now here's me getting way too serious about my ship: A big theme in my writing is the idea of consumption. That is, being so in love with someone that you want to take a part of them and make it a part of yourself. This shows up in my fics a lot of times as breath and blood. It brings up ideas of give and take, and the balance of a relationship. The knife and rose are symbols of Zelkov and Ivy, of course, and their hands are bleeding because love opens us up to pain. A big part of their story (as I write it) is learning to accept that the love is worth the pain.
