You may think Josh wouldn't be the best husband, that he's as bad as Bill, and maybe... maybe he is, but in my heart

He is the ultimate husband

Josh getting married was a healthy step forward for him. You basically saved him from his fate because now he has something to live for and look towards

Does that mean that he's kind of dependant on you? Yes, and sometimes that's hard in your marriage, but usually, things go pretty smooth

Does cook dinner, tries to develop at least a consistent and normal diet, but I'd believe it's hard. Stress eats when he's upset, you'll find wrappers of things hidden in the trash, old habits die hard

After that fire and his mom dying, things between him and his dad had been really rough, and there was a moment after college where they didn't talk to each other

They probably won't ultimately heal that relationship, but trust that when you both start to get serious, he does actually take the time to introduce you to his Dad

This guy is so deep in his fandom culture that the only cheating you've gotta worry about is his Ao3 tabs and his collected stuff, and even then, he probably sold repeats or unnecessary stuff to actually pay for y'alls wedding

It was a very moving moment for you two (He cried but you're pretty sure part of it was out of pain)

Like in the epilouge, he's probably just Facebook friends with Jerry and Pete, but he doesn't go out with them, they don't hang, he's blocked Bill on EVERYTHING

I don't even know what to tell you, this will be the most stretched one

Does use the money from his ebay gigs to pay for the TV subscriptions tho, so at least there's that

It's a dynamic, that's for sure, and you'll probably still have to deal with his collecting, but as years go by, down the line, he'll consider selling a chunk of it or storing it away

The actual chill guy omg

Biggest thing you gotta worry about is stepping on a miniature he left out or trying to declutter his desk where he'll play his cards or customize shit

A crafty husband

Has paints, card stock, scalpels, all sorts of shit

Magic the gathering cards OUT. THE. ASS. And usually it ain't a problem, bc they're in binders and take up minimal space

But he for sure does magic the gathering youtube videos, and the house must be silent when he does em, so that can be a lil aggravating

You guys have your friend group, not seperate, y'all do everything together, and when you guys aren't, then expect to hear "Where's Jerry?"

I wish I had more to add, you guys get take out every Friday, do breakfast on Saturdays, you guys have a show y'all watch together and get excited when new episodes drop

It's just a very dorky and lovey marriage, there's not much to it

Y'all probably had a shot gun wedding, very sporadic, super fun, and you woke up with the worst headache imaginable

As for if Y'all knew eachother before then?? That's up to you and your lore

It's super casual, you guys considered yourselves married after sleeping in the same bed for 2 years

You know that couple that looks cool, and do cool shit, and you kinda wish you were spontaneous like them?

But then it turns out they're kinda dysfunctional? Yeah. That's it

If you're fine with him working at Sick MOFO then awesome, that makes life 10x easier

If not... yikes

He lives independently despite having a partner, and sometimes that's great, but when he comes home late as shit without having said anything and you're waiting, crying on the couch and worried, but it turns out he was just hanging with Butchie

That gets old quick

He does try sometimes to touch base and be open, he knows his job can be... problematic for some relationships

So a lot of times he'll make up for it by taking you out, setting time aside strictly for you (this pissed his side bitch Butchie off so bad)

Physical to the max, lays on you full body and sleeps like that, nuzzling on you, blowing raspberries in your neck, he can't keep his hands off

While canonically in the comic, they're blatantly leaning towards being heterosexual, I am gonna answer this kinda gender neutral leaning, or mayhaps a little more broadly. If you don't end up liking it or would rather something specifically for women then my inbox is always open :)

What he thinks his type is, is someone that'll lean on him and rely on him, he thinks what he wants is a partner that doesn't just see him as some immature dork but rather a dependable person, a macho guy that can lead the way

But that's because that's how he always sees himself, leader of the club, leader of the daily itinerary, all of it

Except that isn't it at all, he's just bitchy and whiney enough that things go his way

So REALLY his type, if he ever got some, would be someone that doesn't let him just do whatever he wants

Does that mean he's gonna lay on his back and just take being pushed down? No, not really. He'll honestly even expect them to play sweet and subservient until provoked

But trust he's red-faced, flustered, and enjoying it the whoooollee time

As for looks, his judgemental attitude and prejudice would really limit his ability to enjoy himself and have a partner that's genuine

I'm gonna be honest though, if he were chill, he'd probably like someone tall and broad

Jokes aside, Josh's type would genuinely be someone who drives him crazy, a person that can stick in his head late at night

Someone who wants him badly, he doesn't even care

Someone who is self-assured and confident but not entitled or bossy (cough, bill, cough)

A person that knows what they want and when they want it, but isn't putting other people down to get it

That being said... put him down

He, for sure, doesn't strive to be the dominant one

Yeah, he is the house wife, sorry guys

If anything, he'll probably care more about anniversaries, holidays, gifts, being sweet, more than his own partner

Then again, he is a yearner

so maybe it's just built into him

I've got the headcanon that even though both of his parents are happily present, he's always been a mama's boy

Seeing as Jerry is literally the only one with two love interests mentioned (Agnes and Mandi), we can already see what type be has

While with Agnes, she was this shy, sweet girl (I'm reaching, she was only mentioned in one panel) it aligns pretty well with who Jerry was at that time

Shy, maybe sweet?, softly spoken, the works

But with Mandi, who is outspoken and confident, Jerry looks to be adopting those traits as well, especially when he walks out

But consistently, we can see one common thing

He wants someone who has the same passions and interests as him

Sometimes opposites attract, you don't have to have the same interests as your partner

But for Jerry, I believe it's something he ultimately aims for. He wants someone who understands him and can talk with him, especially because his own friends won't bother to understand

He doesn't care so much about the external personality. Whether you're shy and soft or confident and loud, it's that inside. That passion, especially in similar interests and wants, is what attracts him

Pete Dinunzio

I truly believe the relationship won't work unless you guys actively enjoy the same things

Like, could he date someone who doesn't like what he likes? Yeah, sure, of course

But it probably won't be endgame because horror and gore and makeup sfx is his life

The zombie crawl would be a date. If you can't handle that, then oh man, he's hanging up his hat

The girl's home lives

Thought I'd give a little insight to how it is for the girls in their own homes, stuff about their siblings, their parents, etc.

𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒂 '𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒂' 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓

She has a dad and step mom, and her actual mom left at an early age, so the only one she's known is Stacy. There's the constant insinuation that Becca's mom left because she didn't want her

Stacy is very much an orderly and anal person. She likes the house a certain way. For Becca to behave a certain way, she runs the home

When the girls come over, or God forbid the guys on a very off chance, Stacy will hover and be on Becca about her friends not being dirty or loud

Becca's Dad works at home in his office, but is a very non-present figure, and when he is around it's just to give Becca her pocket money or to come down and stop whatever yelling match Becca and Stacy got into

Becca often feels she's in a competition with her step mom to get her dad's attention and is steadily losing

Her dad is a screenplay writer. He's worked on a few popular films and has a few of his own projects

Becca loves movies and tv because of her dad and makes the effort to connect, but he's a very hands-off parent

Becca is always trying to find a way to go out, go to sleepovers, go on a drive with Meg, go to the mall, she'd much rather be out and about then alone in that big house, despite two other people there

The others get annoyed that 'club meetings' can't be held at her house, especially because it's spacious and she's an only child

As the girls get closer to the eltingville club, Becca becomes envious of Josh's home life since he has a more nuclear family (she'll never tell him that)

She'll never admit that she actually likes Josh either, but it's pretty damn obvious to the girls with how often she teases him

𝕮ᥲ𝗍һᥱrіᥒᥱ '𝕮ᥲ𝗍һᥡ' 𝕸ᥲrіᥱ 𝕵᥆ᥒᥱs

Both of her parents are professors at the local university. They both teach in the environmental (mom) and psychological (dad) field

They do family time, drumming circle, music appreciation, passing the talking stick

All of them are vegan and very strict on food. The girls hate going to Cathy's house because of that

Cathy is her parent's 'guinea pig' in the way that they had her and love her, but definitely they pick at her brain and heavily record her development as a person, she's partly been used as a thesis topic in her dad's work

When I say her parents are hippies, it's very performative. They come from old money, they have steady jobs, and Cathy has a guaranteed future. But they don't attend protests. They don't contribute to any movements charity or otherwise, besides constantly talking about said movement

Cathy is pretty happy at home. Is it annoying when her dad is asking her complicated social questions? Yes. But it's better than what her friends got going on...

ᴍᴇɢʜᴀɴ 'ᴍᴇɢ' ᴇᴠᴀ ᴀʙʀᴀᴍs

All of her brothers are moved out, two are in university, the other two are already married and starting their families, so it's just Meg and dad at home

Meg's mom died when she was born, and while it's hard on her brothers and dad, they all see Meg as a gift and love her very much

However, that doesn't mean they're gonna treat her any softer

She does the same training as her brothers. Her dad takes her to the gym, and she's taking self-defense classes

Her family is very big on being strong for yourself, and while sometimes it's hard, she's grateful to have these lessons

Her dad is the boxing coach at her school. It's the only reason she even got in, and he's usually away a lot because of wrestling practice or meets

But he's pretty good at trying to find time for her, and if he knows he won't be seeing her much in the week, then her brothers will stop by and keep her company

She usually uses music to fill the silence, but she's also really interested in it. Last Christmas, she got a mixer and has been making up some remixes that she'll sometimes show the girls on car rides

Meg is like the pseudo 'role model' of the group despite being the youngest in her own family. She's also technically the oldest in her group

The girls typically meet at her house, and her dad doesn't mind them at all

𝔏𝔦𝔩𝔦𝔞𝔫𝔞 '𝔏𝔦𝔩' 𝔎𝔞𝔶 𝔅𝔦𝔞𝔫𝔠𝔥𝔦

As stated in an earlier post, she got into Eltingville Catholic High on a scholarship because of her writing

She's into gothic literature, loves Edgar Allen Poe, Emily Brönte, the works

Constantly writing, whether journaling or making up stories or just writing poems

Also an avid reader, she usually has a book on her or is always nose deep in one, when they get closer with the boys she'll take recs from Jerry, and actually enjoys Lord of the Rings

Wishes to do DnD campaigns like Jerry, but the game comes off as too complicated and intimidating for the girls, she until then, she's reading dungeon master guidebooks, noone may know it but her knowledge of the game surpasses Jerry's at this point

Her mom is a charge Nurse, she's always busy, and when she's home, she's either sleeping or stressing about expenses or what Lil is up to

Her mom hates it when the girls come over and hates it even more if the guys ever step foot in her house. They're only allowed over when her or Lil's older brother Gio is home

Gio, or rather Giovanni, works at a mechanic shop. He loves his little sister and tries not to be on her as much as mom is

Her mom is hard on her because she believes Lil needs to stay devoted to her academics and to God, she's religious and isn't at all fond of what Lil likes to do in her spare time, she HATES the way Lil tries to dress and it just puts a strain on that relationship between them both

Gio tries to play middle man, but it can be hard, especially when he can't move out on his own on that one person income

Lil tries really hard to never be home, but suffers from a sporadic curfew
