Turtrune - The Runestone Pokemon

This pokemon is friendly and likes to help travellers. Touching the rune on its shell is said to bring good luck.

Trictoise - The Fey Trickster Pokemon

As its power grows, Trictoise uses its magic wand to play pranks on people. It delights in confusion, but will usually share the joke with the victim afterwards.

Tordruid - The Crystal Tortoise Pokemon

Tordruid prefers to live in canyons where it can collect crystals to decorate its staff. It uses its magic to create illusions that only those with good intentions are able to see through.

Last one for a little bit, these are fun to give my brain something to noodle around with when its being difficult.

Driftsaur - The Snowdrift Pokemon

It spends a lot of time asleep under snowdrifts. Large groups of Driftsaur will congregate in an area, and are often problematic for skiers.

Frostsaur - The Snow Sculpting Pokemon

It is much more outgoing than Driftsaur, and spends its time using its psychic powers to sculpt the snow that builds up on its back.

Blizzaur - The Snow Monster Pokemon

It uses its psychic powers to create monstrous snow shapes to scare rivals away from its chosen hill. They compete with each other to make the most complex shapes.

More fakemon, think the convergent evo thing is a bit more obvious with the one and the next one.

Shalisk - Shallows Pokemon It isn’t a strong swimmer, so Shalisk wraps its tail around a rock to avoid being swept away. It eats beach pebbles to toughen its hide.

Tidalisk - The Tidal Pokemon Even though it has grown, it still carries its rock, both for emotional support and to smash open shells and boulders. The force of these impacts can cause large waves.

Coralisk - The Reef Pokemon Due to its rocky hide, Coralisk is too heavy to swim so it lurks on the seafloor among the coral to ambush prey above. It sometimes attacks passing boats, mistaking them for Wailmer.

Made some fake pokemon a little while ago, was aiming for convergent evos but they sorta turned into their own thing? Rolled for type on a wheel, with the small lizard to big dragon theme for this one, also got a turtle line and a dinosaur with stuff on it line coming up.

Turns out writing pokedex entries is harder than I thought, especially to condense the concept/lore into two short sentences. Some went through a few rounds of edits to find the right tone.

Have been drawing fake pokemon as a warm up/something to do when my brain is scratchy, so I’ve got a few of those queued up next.

Hi! Could you share how you break down dragon heads into simple shapes, or what landmarks you look for?

Hi Anon!

I've included a video and some sketches cause I'm not great at explaining and a lot of it is vibes and muscle memory tbh

I generally start with a circle/oval and/or a vague triangular shape (triangle helps with direction), get the eyes and brow in first then do the end of snout and jawline. At the core of it, it breaks down into top of head/lower jaw and nose. Everything else can be glued on after you get the shapes for those down.

Sometimes it helps having another oval at the end of the triangle to plot out the nostril/nose bridge (helps with the front/3-4 angles)

I am also frequently moving/redrawing/ignoring a lot of the guides I put down too, through all stages of a drawing.

Started over with the colours, think its more in line with what I wanted? Still got to get into the shading and scales, but I think its in the right direction for the base layers.

Probably been looking at this too long, not sure how well its working.

Trying to use the green/purple differently to the blackberry dragon, but its either too dark/too muddy/too something.

Keen on the purple wings, its just the rest looking funky.
